Really one of the worst places ever. Service is always slow, waiters ignore you. After waiting 30 minutes, went up to the bar to tell them we wanted to order a beer, they said they would come and take our order. Instead the waiter kept talking to his friends. Got my order wrong; got the bill wrong; the food took over an hour to come; spent more time talking with his friends; then his friends came over and wanted to play on the game console we were using; it smells like piss. I could go on. It seems like every time i have gone here it is the same, but now i will not go back and you shouldnt either. Send a message that you will not tolerate such bad behavior by a local business owner. Make room for someone else who will be respectful and service the neighborhood like the Tiny Diner or Northbound.

Deep dish pizza, weekend breakfast (10-2 Saturday and Sunday) with a build your own frittata option, unique salads, burgers and sandwiches. Great drink selection with lots of variety - local beers, fruity sours, ciders, strong beers, red and white wines, random cocktails, and a strong selection of nonalcoholic beverages. Order a mug, tall or a pitcher! Happy hour is 3-6 and 10-close everyday. Extensive selection of board games, vintage Sega Genesis and Nintendo NES, and Atari 2600 in front of cozy tall-backed booths, high top tables, or antique couches. Cartoons and sports on TV. What else could you possibly need? The mismatched lamps with colored light bulbs make it very cozy.

Decent, cozy, unpretentious neighborhood joint. It wants to be more than it is, and I want more from it too. It has a lot going for it, and it seems to have been cleaned up a bit lately, but the food is still needlessly complicated, and the menu much too large to do anything all that well. They should focus on simple pub fair and craft beers. Instead, they haphazardly add odd sauces, strange buns and pestos to things that dont really need it. It straddles the line between a dive, and a mid-range restaurant. They should embrace one of these things and focus on it. Stick to the basics here, play a game, get a good beer, sit on the patio, maybe order an app.

This restaurant uses games like scrabble and apples to apples to keep you entertained and distracted from the slow/bad service. We waited for 30 minutes just to get a beer! We ordered burgers which should have come with fries but instead was brought with mashed potatoes that were obviously reheated because one of them was ice cold. The interior is falling apart- the leather part of the seats cracked and uneven. We were also disappointed in the burgers. They were nothing special and were overpriced. We like to try new burgers that have been rated highly but save your TIME and money from coming to this restaurant.

Service was ok for 4pm on a Friday. Attentive and relatively fast. Unfortunately the food, as well as the up keep, has gone down hill. I ordered a pretzel with beer cheese. It has always been a big puffy loaf of pretzel bread with a decent size side of veggies for dipping. It came and was a sad regular twisted pretzel with no veggies and grainy cheese sauce. The floors were dirty, and the place has a nasty smell to it. Sad to see the decline of what used to be a fun pub, with surprisingly good fare...with all the amazing gastropub options minneapolis has to offer, theres nothing here to make me return.

Well to start there was maybe two tables of people and we didnt have a server after sitting at our table for ten minutes. Waitress walked by us three different times and said nothing. We order our food and it comes out wrong, and the chicken undercooked. Not to mention for ordering a burger and chicken strips it took over 25 minutes to get the food. We finish eating and and literally sat and waited another 15-20 minutes before we finally went up and asked for the check ourselves. Literally the worst service Ive ever had. Will never be back.

They claim to be super busy, but there are literally 3 other tables and its taken over an hour to get our food. Took nearly 30 minutes to get our drinks. This experience has been pretty typical of every time that I come here. Go elsewhere! Theres plenty of places in the neighborhood that have better service and dont make excuses. Update: I asked to speak to a manager and was told there was no manager here at all. Asked for a refund and was told theyd get me a different entree. Aint no one got time for this. Again, go elsewhere.

Something bad has happened to Chatterbox since it first opened in Minneapolis. It used to be good -- great even. It no longer is and the Edina location is abyssmal. The atmosphere is terrible. Its not the chill, relaxing, lets play games it once was. The food is just as bad. Im not looking for gourmet, but I am looking for good "bar food." Youre much better off just going to any old bar and getting a greasy something -- at least it would be edible. I have to say something nice: the beer selection is good.

I really enjoyed going to the Chatterbox in Lynwood, but now that its closed, i was very surprised at the south minneapolis locations inconsistency with food quality and wait staff. It was. So. Slow. It seemed like there was one waitress for the whole restaurant on Saturday night. I ordered the chicken strips, and they were straight yup soggy. Asked for them to be remade, (which i have NEVER DONE IN MY LIFE) they were exactly the same. Im sad for the place, but we are looking for a new game-friendly hangout.

Just awesomely delicious food, weird decor, and lots of fun games to play tabletop or old school console. They have a big nice tap list with some of there own microbrew which is quite good. They dont do cocktails or hard liquor and Ive noticed theyve downsized and lack the crowds they use to. Not sure why, I havent noticed any changes in quality or anything really different with the menu. They are right at a bus stop but its kinda hidden in a residential area. I do miss their cheese curds.

Extremely slow service with one waiter (even watched parties walking out) and the food not particularly great to go back to considering how long everything took, including just getting the bill. Fried wing appetizer (which came out very late) were not crispy nor with a very good sauce, the Mac and cheese while a huge portion and allowing lots of add-ons had little cheese in sight, thought the chicken breast I got was okay, not worth taking home but just.. Decent. Wouldnt recommend.

Small but very cool place. Aptly named. Grab some friends and head to the Chatterbox to gab, play classic board games (Candyland, anyone?) Or even get your NES on. Chicken Quesadillas are excellent, and the house ale goes perfectly with furniture that came from your grandparents garage sale. Theres even a few outdoor tables. The staff are super nice. Good place for smaller writers group meetups (over 8 people might be a challenge) and Ive been to book release events here.

The rudest bartender I have ever seen. I have to sit and wait for a while before the bartender finishes her chitchat and came to ask for my order. When I finally asked for a check it took her like 10 minutes to get back to me. I would understand if she was busy, but that was not the case. When I finally exhausted all my patience and asked for a check again she told me she had to finish some bodys order first. All of a sudden she was busy. I hated the customer service.
