Although Ive visited Tandem before, this was my first time since they first opened. Although there was a bit of a mess on the sidewalk, the store looked presentable and very welcoming. Inside was a bit cluttered, however it added to the appeal of the store. Im a big fan of toasted bagels. Tandem bagels hits the mark what it means to be a "toasted bagel". Their bagels are super crispy. If youre not a big fan of toast bagels, I recommend you try it. Its on a whole another level. Although the bagels are as big as some places, they are very flavorful. This cafe offers a wide selection of drinks and coffee that I highly recommend.

I was too upset by my visit to actually eat anything. My companion and I were obviously together, but the server refused to take our orders together. Instead she took his order, asked him a hundred questions, made his bagel, took his money -- at this point I assumed that she thought we were strangers who just walked in off the street at the same time, so I said something about us being together. But she continued to ignore me. She didnt even say "Ill be with you in a moment." When she started on his coffee without even glancing in my direction, I had enough. Thats no way to treat customers!

Tandem bagels is nothing but amazing! I have never once had a bad experience. They have a great selection & variety of bagels & sandwiches. They also have the most delicious monthly, weekly, and daily specials! Personal favorites are Mondays (Chonga bagel), Thursdays (jalapeno cheddar bread), and Fridays (jalapeno cheddar bagel) favorite sandwich is the Nicollet bike shop (TO DIE FOR) not to mention the staff are so friendly and truly genuine.

What a gem. This bagel and coffee shop is always packed because there isnt anything else comparable in the Mankato area. The staff is superb, the bagels are phenomenal, and the prices are reasonable. Great outdoor seating in the summer and a cozy atmosphere inside. The coffee has been a little hit-or-miss for me but almost always is on point. Perfect joint for breakfast and lunch. If youre in the area, its a cant-miss.

I have only been here once, but from what I experienced I would most likely not return. I ordered a BLT sandwich and it took a long time to make because they didnt have any bacon already heated. The lady asked if I wanted my bagel hot and I said yes which I regretted later when my bagel was hard as rock. One lady there was fairly nice but the rest of the staff looked half asleep and not happy to be working.

Ordered a bagel with egg and cheese, expecting the egg and cheese to be place on it separately. Instead they scrambled the egg and cheese together and it looked like something youd expect from a truck stop diner, not a bagel shop. It was messy and I couldve paid a lot less for the messiness elsewhere. This place is obviously not as classy and superb as others say.

Best bagels Ive ever had! I now cant live without their salt bagel, which is perfection toasted with bacon scallion spread. Their sandwiches are also great (I recommend the Tour de France), and this past winter they served "Liquid Gold" which was apple cider and a touch of caramel sauce - basically heaven in a cup.

This place is an unexpected gem in the heart of Mankato. The staff was inviting and knowledgeable. The atmosphere was perfect for meeting friends or hanging out and doing a little work. Their ingredients are fair-trade and locally sourced. It really doesnt get any better than this!

This place has great food and drinks, but their business hours dont make total sense. I dont know why they close at 5:30PM when many people are working/unavailable until then. If they were open even just an hour later, until 6:30-7PM, Im sure they would receive far more business.

I love the selection and taste of the bagel sandwiches. We try to stop by every time we visit my mom. The ordering area is a bit small and can be cramped, yet the staff are friendly and the rest of the place is cozy and comfy

I had a onion bagel with sun dried tomatoes cream cheese ham, lettuce, and tomatoes. I got the deal with chips and pop. The bagel was perfect but I felt like the price was a little bit high.

Food is good but the portions are super small. I was able to eat the bagel in 3 bites which is quite sad. Otherwise mochas are amazing here! Better than Caribou, Starbucks, or the Coffee Hag

Mankato was without a good bagel shop for years. Tandem filled that void. Although I miss the sugar room this is very worthy of the location! Niccollet bike shop is my favorite!
