I give this place five stars if the wait staff could get it together. I like to play Texas holdem but they like to place you way in a corner all crammed together with no room for a drink or place to put your food. I sat my plate of food down behind me on a table so I could shuffle the cards and after I finished playing that hand I turned to get my half eaten food to find out it was gone. I think the waitress should of asked if I was done. But when I asked her where it was she said she didnt know it was mine, than I asked her didnt you take my order and deliver it to me. She said yes. I had them make me a new plate for no charge, because I am paying for a whole meal. I returned another day to play and again super crowded hardly any elbow room and I sat my drink behind me not thinking it would disappear because it was like pulling teeth to get any waitress to wait on you any ways. Guess what happened my glass disappeared but my empty plate of food was still there, and when I asked the waitress where it was she said she had taken to clean the table. Really I told her! So just out of frustration I decided to ignore this and I ordered another drink and I never received it. I finished with cards and stood around watching the waitress walk past me a dozen times and she never once acknowledge I was empty handed, you would think she would know me since she started out as my waitress when I ordered my food. I was wondering if I should leave without paying being I never received a bill. But I do have to say there food is great and they have a lot of fun stuff going on thru out the week and there prices are reasonable.

I was really suprised stopping in here. Being that its a bar/restaurant along Hwy. 65, I didnt have high hopes for the food. I was wrong. The wild rice soup was homemade and super good. My first dinner there was the habanero dusted walleye, which turned out to be really good. It had just enough habanero so I could taste the flavor of it but it didnt burn my mouth up and overtake the flavor of the fish. My second time there was for lunch and I had the open-faced Turkey sandwich. The turkey tasted like it was roasted as the whole bird there and then chunked up for this sandwich, which had homemade mashed potatoes and some pretty good (not great- but pretty good) gravy over the top. Waitresses are all friendly with quick service, so I would say that if youre in the area or just driving by, this is the place to stop in at.

Food was good when it finally came out. Wasnt hot. Three for lunch break working a job close by took a good hour. Sat Barside and the bartender server was disorganized appeared strung out and for sure anorexic avoided eye contact. Have let time pass hoping my perception would be more gracious of the service. She was pleasant and certainly the kitchen determines when food comes out. It just wasnt that busy. I had a pulled meat sandwich which was wonderful and had big pieces well seasoned and prepared. I would definitely go again just not during work for lunch.

Oriental chicken salad was was a bag of salad mix from the grocery store, not even romaine or spinach included. Menu listed mixed greens, and shredded carrots. No shredded carrots. Several flies zipping around your food as you ate. Bloody Mary had nothing in the drink but the liquor and mix. Service was slow even though the bar was not crowded. We had to ask another waitress for menus.

I havent had such a bad dining experience as this one. The waitress was absolutely terrible. She never came and checked on us. Her attitude indicated that she most likely hates her job. Anytime we needed someone another one of her coworkers had to deal with us instead of her even though she didnt seem busy. I was charged someone elses bill along with mine also.....

This is a nice bar and grill, with a decent menu, drink specials and an enclosed smoking area. Live bands on the weekend, Viking game specials with free shots when there is a touch down, and drawings for prizes. Outdoor seating, pull tabs, video games, and a pool table. Fun bar and easy to get to right off of hwy 65. They are also open for breakfast

Just a short drive from Minneapolis Maxxs Bar has a really awesome menu and the food tastes great its also a good place for bachelor or Bachelorette parties and get-togethers of all kinds they have a good beer selection and a full menu so go and explore Maxxs Bar yall have a blast they have live bands on Friday and Saturday nights

The food was tasty but kind of plain. The shrimp basket was the kind of shrimp I had for school lunches. I guess I expected more, but it wasnt bad for the price. Heard they have a fun night scene though, so Id want to come back for bingo or one of their night events to check out the buzz.

The food was average and over priced. The dining area was sloppy and the whole place had an unpleasant odor. They have live music and the bar area was populated with regulars. I think this place is fine for nightlife and drinking but I wouldnt eat there again.

Rib nite Thursdays is good.DONT order off the menu.Dont order the steak sandwich.yuck!!well done even sent back.twice .fries are the only thing that is great .staff has there noses up there butt.dont care.too. even mangement could care less.

Not sure what to say about Maxx, overpriced cocktails, smelly bathrooms. They are supposed to have good food, but one visit to the bathroom and you lose your appetite. If you want a good drink and awesome burger keep driving north.

Solid bar with a fantastic night scene. Lots of locals. Live music all the time. Great staff, designated smoking room where you dont freeze to death. And I won $200 on a pull tab. Oh and the food is great.

Food is good for the most part. Their service is a crawl though. There could be 3 people in the place and it would still take 45-60 min to get your food. Not a good place to bring hungry kids.

Ate lunch here yesterday about 1 pm, not real busy, Waitress was excellent, food was delicious, all hot and out at the same time. Good tastes , all fresh food , Fun time!!!

Great food & service! Ive been up there a few times now. The No cover bands on Friday and Saturday nights have been great as well!
