My husband and I went here for date night he ordered ribs, (they were great),Mac and cheese (not that much flavor but ok) corn bread ( really good) I ordered the butternut squash ravioli ($17 and typically a meat free dish unless noted)I wanted to take him out so he could get a steak or something, fully prepared and happy to pay for well prepared food and planed on easily spending $50 to $100 bucks, drinks dessert etc depending on how it was. Everything tasted fresh and I could tell that the dough was made by hand. Couple of things that should be mentioned on the menu: 1) you will be receiving 7 ravioli on your plate so thats about $2.50 a ravioli should be listed, not just because of the price but that way you can order a side with it so you will be full and not end up eating your husbands side dishes like I did. 2) the menu mentioned gluten free options on the menu (great) but should also put marks next to things that are vegan or vegetarian perhaps. So That way if you dont eat meat For medical reasons because it will make you feel sick then it would be nice for the menu to say "hey there is chicken broth in the mushroom reduction sauce". Our night then continued when we asked the waitress (who rocked by the way) if there was truffle butter in the ravioli ? (because your thinking maybe thats why its so expensive) then having the head chef came to our table instead of her. We then preceded to get a lengthy lecture about how the meal I ate was made with a condescending sounding voice telling me how to make a reduction sauce. I wasnt complaining. The food was good. After us nodding at him while he talked and him realsing that we were beyond ever coming back again because of him he then made us feel like he was then trying to bribe us with take home deserts. Dude apple crisp and moose cake isnt going to make us want to come back after how stupid you tried to make us feel. I was asking about butter not why the food is expensive. i had to say no 5 times and then be more stern on the last one for him to get the idea, even my husband had to say "she said no". Good thing about this restaurant is that its trying to bring good food and cultural to walled lake, but its nick name isnt wall-tucky for a reason. People arnt going to care about your food if its over priced and small portions , this is not royal oak.

Derrick Rea.... I am known to be a big tipper and expect perfection and consistency with the food and customer service. I can be difficult with my special requests but have been very satisfied everytime I have been in there even if I was a fan and friends of the old mamma mias clan which is now at Epic Pizza on Union Lake rd. This establishment has changed from Italian to a bbq smokehouse and I believe they will do very well in its hidden location with advertising and coupons because it is not the cheapest but is very reasonable for the quality level it delivers and is highly reccomended if you have not experienced it yet. Im hooked on the risotto starter and would make it a dinner if I could only add shrimp to it. The quality of the meat is the best you can get and the suaces are perfect but ocassionally a little salty (possibly due to inconsistantly appling the seasoning in one spot instead of spreading evenly????) I need to try other items but the wine short rib was incredible almost everytime and has been replaced by a very good Asian short rib with the updated seasonal menu. I have only been here about 6 times so I have not tried a lot of things to be a good judge but plan to. I like the side cornbread with my meal but if I had any suggestion I wish they offered some sort of oven baked loafs of bread or bread basket to nibble on with and before my meal. The atmosphere and decor add to the great dining experience. I suggest to tell your waitstaff to time out your meal so you have time to enjoy your appitizers if you are not in a hurry otherwise you may feel rushed because sometimes it comes too fast for me . I received a free brisket nacho for signing up for the rewards program.

Great background music! Went with 2 friends: ribs and pulled pork were really good but brisket was just ok, a bit dry. The cornbread and tater tots were great and sweet potatoes with maple dipping sauce were very good although not evenly cooked. Our waitress was very sweet and attentive. She knew the menu and even brought the chef out to answer questions (he seemed less than pleased to meet customers on a day when his resturant was less than 10% full). Unfortunately the experience was overshadowed by the feeling we were being rushed out. We had planned a slow easy lunch to chat and catch up. But every few minutes either our waitress or another lady showed up to our table, drink refills showed up unrequested when ours were still 1/2 full, checks were delivered without reference to wanting anything else like coffee, or desserts... When I arrived I informed the yound lady we were going to be chatting, and during the meal my friend did the same, yet it was go go go. As my one friend said, I might grab takeout some random day on my way home but not sure I would plan a meal here. Would be a 4 if not for the rush job (even with the chef being put off).

Amazing Food!!! I had a wedding reception at Orchard Lake CC and had CAYA cater the event. Working with Shelley was easy and flawless. The food was AWESOME. We are regulars at the restaurant in Wolverine Lake which we love but this large event produced the same great food. All of our guests commented on how spectacular the food was and how they couldnt stop going back for seconds or thirds. We had the ribs, brisket and smoked chicken, all of which were equally amazing. The sides were great!! Lots of compliments on the kale salad , sweet potatoes and of course their corn bread is to die for. The key lime bars were perfect for outdoors and super yummy. My husband was impressed the owner and chef Jeff showed up to make sure everything was perfect. Believe me, my husband knows barbeque and has eaten at many amazing places across the country for his golf travels and thinks Caya is definitely one of the best. Thanks so much for everything! You really made our event amazing and we really appreciate your food and attention to detail! Cheers!

Just walked up to a locked door, the gal that came to the door was extremely put off of my knocking on the door. Hours state that they are open at 4:30pm, it was 4:33 and I made light of the fact that it was opening time... just to hopefully make her smile. I introduced myself as I work in the area and I also was looking to speak with management about how their business is listed online. I was even considering tto eat but decided not to as for one, she didnt even invite me in. Obviously a bad day or doesnt like her job, or just annoyed that I was looking to speak with management. This would of been my first time dining and would of liked to of checked it out. I am not one to hold a grudge so I may consider coming back, but management might want to know how I was addressed. I left my business card for the owner/management. Seems like a cool place, but word to the wise. First impressions do matter!
