Apple Knockers Ice Cream Parlor is a wonderfully set place that not only offers yummy Plainwell Ice Cream but also offers hot foods such as Red Chili, White Chicken Chili and other soups of the day. They also have Nathans all-beef hot dogs, chili cheese style, Chicago style, and custom hot dogs. Their cornbread casserole is another of their delicious, homemade recipes. A word about the ice cream: I dont know the exact count but, I would say they probably have about 30 different kinds of ice cream. They can make flurries, shakes, malts, sundaes (including Turtle which is my favorite) in any variation you like! They have soft serve, chocolate, vanilla and twist. Its your choice, but you can get your ice cream in a waffle cone, cake cone, sugar cone, or waffle bowl with or without chocolate and sprinkles. Now, in case you are wondering, yes they do have a dessert called the Apple Knocker (after their name) and it is Vanilla ice cream, a piece of warm apple pie, caramel and whipped cream all in a waffle bowl! Yummmmm! They havent won any awards yet, but if I could I would definitely give them a hum dinger! One of the joys of living in a small town like Vicksburg is having a place like Apple Knockers to visit in the summer. They have ice cream, malts, and pies, but dont forget they also have great lunch and dinner items like chili cheese dogs, burgers, and pasties! Our family loves this place!
