I have frequented Sai Sweets thrice now and can say that all three times the food was fresh, the people nice and the atmosphere pleasing (in a strange Indian way). This place is as authentic as it gets when it comes to most sweets from the Asian subcontinent (South Asian) region. As for the "Indian street food" part, I cant say since I have never had authentic Indian street food BUT I can vouch for the fact that it is fairly spicy, flavorful and makes your skin smell like masala (thats spices, for you non cultured folks) for at least two-to-three days. That said, I give Sai a solid 5/5 due to their strength of ingredients and bringing a solid, consistent service to the marketplace.

In my 2 yrs of living nearby this restaurant, Ive never been here. Just no reason. And now I think I shouldve. We came here mainly for the Thursday evening snacks buffet. Boy oh boy, were we treated to some delicious Indian street food. Just the things we missed and found all of them here ! UNLIMITED snacks BUFFET for just 7$ on Thursday!! You wont need dinner..... guaranteed. And oh the collection of sweets and savories ! The best/most Ive seen in an Indian restaurant so far. My friend ended up buying 1pc of each sweet, just for fun....and he wanted to try them all ! Ill want to come back later for more and try out other things in the menu.

The place is good, although it does not have very good ambience. The rates are reasonable. The food is good. I would prefer to have only snacks and sometimes buffet is also good especially on Thursdays. I would not prefer to have full meal lunch or dinner. Although most of times the food is good, but sometimes I feel the taste is not consistent. The staff is good and helpful.

Not sure if its the new management or its the competition from the new vegetarian restaurant across the street, but Sai Sweets has upped their ante. Our experience dining in at Sai on a Friday night was definitely a pleasant one. Great service. Food quality and quantity was good. Perfect temperature. Hope they keep all of this consistent. Will surely dine in/takeout again.

This is a vegetarian restaurant. I attended for all-you-can-eat vegetarian lunch buffet and found the selection small, but tasty. North, South and Indo-Chinese items are included. Refillable fountain drinks and dessert were included as well. Not too expensive, many Indian dessert items as well as entrees are available for takeout and catering.

North indian food is good, South Indian food does not have authentic taste, Its below average. Sometimes tables are not clean. Sometimes you have to pick up food from the counter, sometimes they bring it to the table. Overall average place to try someday, when you are done trying all nearby restaurants.

One of the horrible experiences I ever had. Have been there for Chat Buffet and found most of them stale. The chutneys were very sour and smelling, reported to the lady on the front desk and she replied that its their way of making it. Not at all worth for the money you shell out!

Loved the place and food. Me and my wife were looking for good Indian food and our search ended here. The food was delicious and staff is good, polite. We had been here couple of times during our visit to Michigan and will be visiting in future too.

I like their food. Good taste. The only thing I wish they would improve is puff. They need to have aloo instead cabbage. Thats ruins it. Also its hit or miss sometimes. We received cold dosa. Not sure how you can serve cold dosa.

One can go for Chhole bhature, Sai thali. Ras malai, Gulabjamun and Barfis are great to taste! Do not expect to have Neehees-like taste. But this place could be a good option- for sweets and on Sunday when Neehees is closed.

Only India sweet shop in Detroit area. Chaat items and a la carte items are fresh and good. Sweets are understandably old stock. Dont get fooled by the looks. Always ask for sample to taste before you buy.

Good place for vegetarian food. Try Batura and their food plate (thali). Chats and sweets are just ok and not that great. They should improve in keeping the place more clean. Avoid evenings.. long waits

Worst service in the city. Very rude staffs, if you are hungry better dont step in, it takes 1 hour for them to deliver the order. A staff there is always in readiness to involve in fight with you.

Worst food. And equally bad service. We were a group of 7 and ordered a variety of dishes. The chutney in the south-indian food was very very below par. So was the chat and lassi. Dont go..

Good and authentic Indian food. The quantity is less for some items but decent for most. The chai is great and its just $1 but the taste varies from time to time.

Decent food but expensive. Plus they never tell you when your food is ready and by the time you get your food its cold. Terrible and never going back.

They serve vegetarian North Indian food. We go there when we crave chat food. They have lots of sweets and snacks which are a bit costly but are good.

Nice Indian evening food. But chilli and chat items are more sour in taste. Looks like they use more imli or vinegar for mushroom/gobi chilli
