I cant speak for all of Original Pancake Houses (OPH) in Michigan but this location is HORRIBLE. First when we walked in we werent even greeted, it was just a long line out the door and you just kinda assume "i guess i have to wait." Then after 5-7 minute wait the lady who seated us was rude! Then when she did seat us, it was at a table PEOPLE WERE ALREADY SITING AT! It looked liked she had just separated two tables people were already siting at and sat us there. She had to ask the woman next to us to move her purse so we could sit down. Literally there was 1 1/2 in between our table and the people next to us! We were subjected to their entire ignorant conversation. When we asked the Manager to be moved to a booth, he looked he had no idea what he was doing, and he informed us there were other people were waiting so we would have to live with where we were. It took 25 mins for our order to brought out, and they BURNED my omelet! It was dark brown on both sides. The waitress had an attitude that I sent it back and the cook replaced my original burnt omelet with ANOTHER burnt omelet! How anyone manages to burn an omelet twice, is beyond me. And finally when I went to front to pay my bill, the hostess was yelling over our heads across the room to another employee, lamenting about how someone better save her some food from the back. This is honestly the worst service Ive ever had in my life! I truly thought i was on a hidden camera show. NEVER, EVER GO HERE!!!!

Compared to Birminghams original pancake house, this one is a disappointment. I ordered 2 signature + 1 highlighted dishes (aka "the big apple", eggs Michael, etc.) and they were served in one or all of the following conditions: Burnt Over-caramelized Warm Stale The decor is ok, but the carpeted floor looks a bit worn. Consider changing it to hardwood floor or something else fitting. The dining area is appropriately far enough from the bathrooms (which are near the entrance, however I was seated in one of the dining areas closest to the bathrooms and caught a slight smell of piss. Maybe there was a small draft moving air towards my general direction from entrance, but anyway, the smell went away when food arrived (still a little disgusting to think about while you eat though). All in all, its not THAT bad a place to try out at least once. Ive been to the Birmingham pancake house many times and just never thought to come here. Though I came here for the first time because Birmingham is twice the drive from me and thought maybe the food quality would be of the same level. I would have given this review a 1 star, but another star was added because our server was awesome.

Bad, Extremely Rude, Slow Service! time after time. Great Food! I can not lie. ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE SERVICE. Omelets and pancakes are awesome but I refuse eat there any longer due to the consistently terrible service. I thought I figured out a solution I would just order carry out! The Old Lady with the drawn on eyebrows that they have at the register on a consistent basis on the week days attitude is so nasty that I decided im going to have to find another favorite breakfast spot. All in all How bad and rude and slow the service is does not outweigh how great the food is. If you can stomach terrible service from every aspect of dining from the waitress to the cashier. Please by all means go!

Very delicious. Definitely a sugar Rush so be prepared for that. They put all the things your normally order on top a pancake or waffle inside the batter. Its delicious. I didnt order the big Apple as I didnt understand the concept and its a hefty price for a pancake, but its not a pancake. It looks a lot more like a stuffed cinnamon roll. I plan to go back to get one. I ended up ordering the waffle with the same things in the batter and I was incredible. I had warm bites of Apple as I ate. Amazing. I snagged a photo of a big Apple, and wished I was smart of Enough to check here for pics before hand. Service was a bit slow, but they were busy.

Never ate at this location before today. Read all the reviews and was more then "just a bit surprised". I have never even heard of anyone having a bad experience at OPH. Im glad to say that I disagree with all the bad publicity. Visit was just it is at Woodward or Mack, awesome. Greeted when I came through the door, seated right away, order in the cooks hands in less then 5 minutes and drinking coffee before that. Always takes a bit to get my food because I order the baked choices, but well worth the wait. Unlike any breakfast anywhere & Im well traveled. Service with a smile everytime and never a disappointment, ever.

One of the best tasting pancakes I have ever had! The blueberry pancakes have a good amount of blueberries throughout the entire pancake which only adds to the quality of this food. The regular pancakes are served with most meals and are light and fluffy. These go great with eggs over easy and the meat of your choice. The Eggs Michael which is an English muffin with sausage patties and poached eggs covered in a mushroom sherry sauce was full of flavor but a little on the rich side for me. Overall, if you want pancakes or another type of battered item, this is the place to go. On the down side, the service is horrible.

Went there to taste the crepes usually go to the one in Toledo. We walked in and were seated very quickly. Menus were wet waitress came to the table and I began to ask her if the strawberries were fresh phone rang just took a quick look to see who was calling was expecting an important call and I said excuse me all this was like 5 seconds I look back up she rolls her eyes and waves her hand in the air and leaves the table. She does not even acknowledge the other person sitting with me. Will never be going back there again. Will stick to the one in Toledo much cleaner.

My boyfriend took me here today for a breakfast date and he heard from a friend of his that this restaurant was better than IHOP. Nope it was not!!! We thought that if this is a pancake house, the pancakes would be big and fluffy!!! WRONG ANSWER!!! The Belgian Waffles were bigger than the pancakes, the pancakes were small, the breakfast looked cheap and on top of that just because they fresh squeeze their orange juice, they charge $3.35!!!! The breakfast cost us $30.00!!! Terrible!!! We would never go there ever!!! I will take Bob Evans and Coney Island over them!!!!

Worst service Ive ever had in the 45 yrs of my life. After being seated it took the waitress 22 mins to even come to the table after ordering our drinks another 15 mins goes by before she comes to take our food order. Now its just 2 of us who order pancakes and bacon. Not a lot of food but the last 4 sets of people with more folks on there group that set down AFTER US had eating and where preparing to leave we still waiting to place our order and get our food. They really should work on there service because as of now I wouldnt recommend this place to Anyone.
