Blackfinn used to be a wonderful place to eat, we would go almost every saturday. Some of these reviews are no longer relevant because they closed for renovation a couple months ago and reopened a whole new restaurant. Their dining room area has been combined with the bar now so it is no longer a romantic area to eat, it is loud and rowdy like the rest of the restaurant. They changed their whole menu and all their pasta dishes are very bland. I could usually count on my burger to be cooked perfectly to my liking, but now it is always well done no matter how I order it. they got rid of my favorite menu item called "the chopped salad" which I am not happy about. I saw a review that was placed on blakfinn about 2 weeks ago talking about how their chopped salad is amazing. I know this person has not gone to blakfinn for awhile because they havent served the chopped salad for at least 2 months. I ordered a pasta dish that I thought would be good, but it was very bland and had no flavor. I never complain about my food, and I hate sending food back, but in this case this was the 4th pasta dish I tried from there since they reopened and they all tasted the same so I went ahead and sent it back. The staff and management were very nice about it and let me order a burger instead which they assured me would be out fast and top of the priority list. However, the rest of the people in my party had already finished their food and had their plates cleaned off the table as well as got full refills on their drink before my burger came out (I would say it took at least 45 minutes to get my burger.) I ordered my burger medium and it came out well done, once again bland and very dry also I found a hair in it (usually that sort of thing doesnt bother me, but I was already upset about the whole experience so far.) The guy I was with ordered a pasta dish but asked for alfredo sauce instead of the nothing they put on it because he had it last time and said there wasnt enough to it. They brought it out with marinara sauce, and he said it was better but still pretty bland. He couldnt finish his meal. When they brought the bill back, they had the nerve to put both the pasta dish I sent back, and the burger that was overcooked, took forever and had a hair in it, on the bill. The waiter did assure me it was a mistake and took off the pasta dish which was the cheaper dish of the two. We used to be regulars and we have given blackfinn several chances after they reopened to please us again. Its been 2 months and still not impressed. It doesnt surprise me that this once 4 1/2 star restaurant has gone down to 2 1/2 stars. please go back to the restaurant before you post a comment, dont rate them based on past experiences please. They are a whole new restaurant, so coming on here and posting a good comment because you see their ratings going down doesnt help give the right impression on this new restaurant. We might come back in a month to give them another chance, but we really miss the old blackfinn food.

Preface: I have never written a negative review before, but felt compelled to write one about BlackFinn. Went there for New Years last night. Hands down the worst experience I have ever had at a bar or restaurant, and Ive been to many. I would give 0 stars, but Google doesnt allow... Backstory: had to buy tickets for entrance, which were $30 each and supposedly included a $10 food coupon, champagne toast, and hors doeuvres. Ok heres the story: 1. Went with a group of 6 friends. Upon scanning our tickets at entry, the woman stated that two of our six tickets had already been used, and that we couldnt come in (i.e., she was implying that we were trying to cheat our way in). I calmly explained that I bought them earlier from a gentleman working the counter, and that no one had used them. She called me a liar and said that she had been working all day (which was obviously false). I asked to see her manager, and we exchanged words for a bit until he arrived. He remembered me and let us in, but didnt apologize for her behavior. 2. They refused to check our coats since we didnt have "VIP tickets" even though one in our group had a faux-fur coat that couldnt really be placed anywhere else. They refused until we bribed the girl with $20 - quite professional! 3. One of my friends bought a bottle of champagne, which we were directed to drink within a cordoned off area. As we started to pour, another waitress came by and told us that we couldnt drink it there, so we started to move. As we did, another server raised her voice and accused us of stealing the bottle of champagne from another table. We had to find the owner of the table to clear us of the theft before we could move on. Once again, no apology from the staff for accusing us of theft. (keep in mind that we were all well dressed YUPPIES and pretty sober, considering it was New Years Eve) 4. We never got any hors doevres or food coupons (not a big loss, since I will obviously never return) Happy New Year everybody! Greg

Probably the worst service ive ever had. Would give 0 starts for service if i could. Went here for a tasting event and went to sit down only to have an extremely rude waitress tell us 10 min later that we could not sit down unless every person ordered an entree. We were not hungry but asked for a menu anyway.... she came back to tell us nevermind, you cannot sit here because the table is already taken..She directed us to the standing room. I spotted a 3x2 high top table in the bar area with no chairs. We tried to make the best of it because at least we had somewhere to set our drinks down. Another waiter then came up to us and said the same thing !!!! We had to order food to stand here??? There arent even any chairs!!! We felt so unwelcomed with their attitudes.. Our whole night was ruined. If that is their rules then fine.. Why be so extremely rude about it? We ordered an appetizer which seemed to take an eternity to make its way over.. The funny thing is we were the least of their problems and the table next to us got into a heated dispute at the end of the night with the waiter about their bill... He never checked on us until he tried tried to take our half eaten appetizer... This was my first time here and i will surely never go back.

This was an awful experience. Waitress was rude and management was ruder. We ordered a meal but it took some time after it was delivered to bring us utensils and napkins. It was the week before St Patricks day and everything was in green but the place was not busy I joking asked the waitress does she know how to make an Irish Coffee. What I got was black coffee with a touch of whiskey which you could bearly taste. When I told her that wasnt Irish coffee and that it should have cream and brown sugar, she curtly remarked Im not the bartender. Finally, after the manager came over, she was ruder than the waitress after I told her of the situation. Here attitude was that was the bars take on Irish coffee and that if I wanted it in the future I would have to specify the ingredients. This time she simply brought out a pitcher of milk and said here you go. DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY AND DONT GET AGGRAVATED EATING HERE. I WILL NEVER GO BACK!
