Went in this restaurant for the 2.99 breakfast special w my mother and grandmother. My Grama recently had a heart attack and has no appetite but I gave her a bite of my left over hash browns and was charged another 2.99 because we "shared" the food. We had no idea we were not aloud to share food (as its not advertised anywhere and the waitress never mentioned it) so we were very confused about the bill. When we confronted the host/owner she was VERY rude and nasty saying she cant afford to feed 2 people off of one meal (like thats our problem) and she needs to make money but then continued to say she doesnt care if we ever come back. She kept storming off instead of explaining the situation like an adult and being nice to her customers. We will never go back, that was the worst customer service Ive ever experienced.

The visit started kind of bad. The plcae was busy and it took the waitress about 25 minutes to bring me my coffee!! I was upset and ready to leave. But my daughter was having fun...she had a coloring page and was thrilled because at the end she would hang it by the door. I must say the way they treated her made the entire experience shift. I stayed and the experience was differentbonce 930 hit (we got there at 8:55). The staff was friendly and atentive in a very informal way that makes kids relax. The food. Tastes good and come in HUGE portions. WE HAD A GREAT TIME. I am glad I stayed. My advise is avoid rush hours like 9am and noon as people often go there in big parties and waitress are overloaded.

Wow! What a Gluten Free treat! Try one of the GF Toast options along with an Omelette, or go another way and get GF French Toast. Whatever you order in Cafe Meli, you will not be disappointed. I enjoyed a healthy breakfast omelette with sage and mushrooms. My partner ate all of his South of the Border Skillet. Spicy! The coffee was refilled often and the waitress knew her stuff when it came to the menu and service. Thank you Ashley! Come into the Cafe Meli if youre looking to eat healthy, delicious food served up with a smile and a coffee.

From the outside i would never have thought to eat here but, wow, the food is on point. The portions are huge. The ambiance beautiful. The menu has some built-in egg white options so there is no fuss or upcharge for a healthier option. I had an egg white frittata with turkey sausage, mushrooms, and potatoes. Not just is the food very good but the prices are reasonable. I can afford to come every weekend.

I love this place. Its got all kinds of good food and has the old fashioned 1 egg is 2, 2 eggs is 4....wow, no one does that anymore. They also have specials everyday and fast and friendly service. This place is great for families, groups, couples, or just a quick lunch.

Absolutely love this place. They have great food and the prices are very fair. The amount of food you get for the price is divine. The wait staff is always friendly and quick to help. Keep your drinks cold/hot. My favorite place in Portage to eat.

Old school diner. Cosy is a good way to describe it. the food was phenomenal. Service was the only thing that took the 1 star away. Sometimes service is good sometimes, they seem understaffed. but the food will keep you coming back.
