I have been going there for 7 years plus with my friends posting them and always having a good time... well today I brought my family there to celebrate my cousins birthday and the tables had NO CHAIRS.. So I moved 1 chair from the bar (please keep in mind the bar had over 20 chairs and 15 of em WERE EMPTY)... the nice waitress who always waits on me came to the table and I thought she was going to take my our order but instead she started apologizing saying that she didnt know how to tell me but the Bartender /Manager is ordering her to tell us to put her chairs back at the bar... I ask them why would they not want patrons to eat and drink comfortably and she was rude pointing her finger in my face and yelling... OH YES, needless to say that conversation went from zero to 100 in 60 seconds... I WILL NEVER RETURN BECAUSE IF THE MANAGER HAS A RUDE ATTITUDE NOT CARING ABOUT MONEY AND CUSTOMER SERVICE THEN THE OWNERS HAVE GOT TO MAKE BAD CHOICES TO EMPLOY SOMEONE WHO TREATS PEOPLE LIKE THAT REPRESENTING THEM....AND WHEN I ASKED FOR A MANAGER OR OWNER SHE SAID THERE IS NOONE HIGHER THAN ME SO GET LOST!!!!!!!

The food is great but the place is way too loud and rowdy, it almost seems like the customers in there are trying hard to disrupt things, lots of hackeling and loud noises, THE OWNER NEEDS TO RAISE THE PRICES TO ELIMINATE THIS. honestly the prices are too low and thats what happens, was in there last night and the waitress told me thank you do much for tipping me, she said the big group of hackeling people just walked out on their tab, a large group of people walked out on their tab after running her ragged and the bonus is that she has to pay for it, unreal. The owner shouldnt allow this then make his servers pay for it, there was a security guard there, what was he there for ? Its a shame that some will ruin it for others cuz the food is great, havent had nothing that I didnt like yet, also they need to get rid of the wing specials, its pointless to sell wings so cheap.

So my friend told me about this spot. Ive been going every week now for the pass month. I was very impressed by the specials and how good the food was, until this last visit. I ordered the same thing I usually get which is the steal special and this time it was very tough and had a lot of fat on it. I asked the waitress if it could be remade and the kitchen said no. She suggested that I talk to the manager. The manager told me no even though I have never sent anything back and was a normal customer. You are supposed to compensate your customer or do something so that you wont lose them. I told her that Ive never been to a restaurant and they told me that if something was wrong with my food it couldnt be remade. So I told her Im okay and she said its okay. Well Hops and Barleys wont see me for a while, still in shock. Now Im going somewhere that cares about the customers!

My wife and I ate here last night and it was not a great experience at all. It was 25¢ wing night and it was PACKED. we thought, "awesome, must be good." Nope. When we were finally able to sit down we ordered chips and salsa and 12 wings. I had to ask 3 times about the chips and salsa. How long does it really take to get some chips and salsa? 45 minutes, thats how long and the wings took another 15 minutes after that. I get it, its wing night and busy but just under an hour for a dozen wings is crazy. Not to mention they were half the size of normal wings. They were little, tiny baby wings. And the beer was just at a barely acceptable temperature, not very cold at all. Will not be going back

Ive been going to this bar for a few years and today I was banned and they called the police because I didnt like the way my burger looked and asked for another. Not only did not they not offer to remake it "management" stated that it was wasting food and that I couldnt not order again. When I asked to speak to a manager none of them would come and talk to me. I talked down to and harassed over a burger that I would have gladly paid for again. Im so disappointed in their service.

Maria who is behind the bar was nice, friendly, and customer focused...as a single I had to wait 45 minutes for the special of the day, rib dinner...really???...2nd time in this place and same both times...doubtful on going back...seems as if you are known service is better, but I do not understand why cause I always tip $5.00 or better, unless service is atrocious...dinner was very good when I finally was served...enter at your own risk:(

Great little place we found after exiting the Henry Ford. Its a bar, so the decor and atmosphere is about what you would expect in a bar! The food was very good, and my whole family enjoyed their dinner. Service was very good. The server even had my sons food made right away and delivered it to the table as soon as it was ready, as he was having a migraine, and she thought it might make him feel better if he had something to eat.

Good food for the price. Lunches can be quick or take forever. If packed and short of time, go for the soup, you cannot go wrong. The crowd is very different between lunch and after dinner and Friday and Saturday night. My three gotos cob salad, mini macs (tuesday only and slider size) or any of the mini sandwiches (blt!!, they are the size of a normal sandwich.)

eat in or carry out, theyve given great eats for years! e.g. - sandwiches can easily pass for two meals & damned tasty meats as well. - soups are hearty homemade creations. - fresh cut slaw is tasty & crunchy. - french dip sub is addictive. - custom made breakfast wraps disappeared quickly at a brunch. - theyve got foot long hot dogs too!

Good bar food and huge portions. HOWEVER service was extremely slow tonight. It was very loud. It seems the local urbanites are hearing impaired and feel the need to yell. Hard to have a conversation. In addition the dining area is very dirty. Nasty carpet, stained walls and baseboards. Wonder what the kitchen looks like? Wont be back .

Waitress got horrible service i waited 45 minutes for a chicken wrap and 30 minutes for my drink. Everybody else got there drinks and food that got here after me. I gave waitress a negative score on being a waitress. This is the worse service i had since I been coming to hops and barley!!!

Nice local bar with decent food. Blue collar worker atmosphere, but the best part(s) about coming here is the daily food specials(pretty inexpensive) and the owner and his wife. Lovely people. Its a family business in a cool area. If youre near by; check them out and tell them I sent you

If I could give it a 0 star I would. You should never have to flag your wait staff down EVERYTIME you need something. Weve spent so much money there Friday after Friday that youd think a little customer appreciation would be garnered. NEVER going back. Need to fire the whole wait staff.
