I have been eating lunch on Thursdays at Mel Bar for almost 15 years. On Thursdays they have a delicious steak special that runs all day long. For under $10, you get a great steak, fries, slaw, beverage, and enough change to leave a healthy tip. The bar is clean, and the service is friendly. But it is not a frilly steakhouse or martini bar. Cinderblock walls and dim lights are the decor. If you want a no-nonsense meal, Mel Bar on Thursdays is the place to be. The Fish Fry Fridays are great also. Perch or Cod. Yummy. You just cannot go wrong eating at the Mel Bar.

Staff is great. Owner not so much. Raises drink prices during dinner. Hasnt mopped the bathrooms in two years. Same dried puke is on one of the stalls for months. Overcharges for shots. Never has any drink specials. Great karaoke, but raises prices to pay for it. Bad pool table. Dirty floors. The keno machine, the staff, and the regulars are the only reason to stop here.

I loved their fish and chips, and have always been a fan of their steak nights. Its a local bar with good food. Nothing fancy, just good!
