Fish is good. I had grilled salmon, very good and fresh fish (Id say cook it just a touch less, but Im a bit of a gourmet-type). My partner got the wings, ridiculously good. Their food is good, it is simple fare but done very WELL. Doing it very WELL is the trick. I have had salmon at twice the price not taste as good. But, I worry that their prices are a bit too modest on somethings (I worry that the menu isnt costed out) and that they dont quite seem sure of what they are. The place seems to have customers but that is only half the battle of running a successful business. Got to make a profit -- or at least pay the bills and the owner a salary. Prices seem a bit low, the salmon was only $10, the cooked crab legs, etc. could be a bit higher. Also, I would recommend the owner NOT work 70hr weeks. Hire good people, treat them well, train them well, take time off, so that you are managing your business rather than being beaten up by it. (I started as a dishwasher in the 1980s, was a line cook, a kitchen manager for years in upscale and fine dinning, and finally a general manager of a sushi restaurant.)

I have a love of fried gizzards and was going to be in the area today and decided to surprise my parents with it. Ended up getting that as well as the scallops. I took them home and they were a bit too spicy for her- she had throat cancer a few years ago and beat it (yay!) But that left her with a very touchy throat and cant eat a lot of spice. I loved the scallops and personally liked the spice, but as she couldnt eat them at all, she called to ask if it were possible in the future to get them less spicy-and they offered to have us bring them back in and they would replace them! We went back and they did just that and we decided to try a few more things-perch, grilled tilapia and shrimp, all very very good. The man at the counter let me know how to order in the future for her and was extremely friendly. Clean, courteous and they went above and beyond any expectations. Definitely will be returning in the future.

Ive never had a better basket of fish and chicken in my life. I come from a fishing community and all of the restaraunts at home combined are no match for this place. The inside of the building is very clean and well kept up. No fishy smell at all. Took a look at their fish when we were waiting for our food and all their fish looked very fresh. And they had a very large variety of fish for a very good price. Will be back to buy their fresh fish. On top of that, the woman at the register was very nice and the wait was nothing. Especially for the quality of the food. Like I said, best chicken Ive had in my life. Amount of batter was perfect, flaky and crisp. And juicy! And the crack powder that they put on was phenomenal. It was the perfect combination. The owner has done an amazing job with this business. We will definitely be back.

This is an interesting place. They are known for their "crack" chicken wings, but they also sell fresh seafood, and of course will cook it for you. They have a wide variety of seafood, which I really wanted to try, but we were there for the wings. I noticed from the pictures of the food, that everything has this white powder on them. I asked what that was and was told it was the "crack". Okay, anyway, I got some wings, legs and thighs. It was very good, crispy moist and juicy. It took 25 minutes though, because they only fry it when you order it, it does not sit around under a heat lamp. After tasting the chicken, I am guessing that the "crack" is actually honey powder sprinkled on the food. It does add to the flavor, and I really enjoyed it. Its all carry out.

Review Time!! Ive read a few of the previous reviews and was very disappointed with some of the comments made. This is THE BEST fish fry around. The food is always hot and fresh, not to mention addictive. The service is always on point! Location? Not the best...but seriously, if yall were in a "nice" location the cost of the food would be higher and the customer service would be questionable. Everybody is welcome in your establishment, whereas other (well-to-do) places lack social skills it takes to keep customers coming back! I would rather go to the EASTSIDE than to Mitchells on any given day. Keep up the great work, we love you! Crack-Chicken Addicts. :)

Had the worst experience. Ordered online and spent over $35. When I got my food, I was missing two things (mustard and jumbo shrimp). I called to to let them know and not only was the person who answered incredibly rude, but when I asked him to credit back my card for the things I paid for but did not receive, he proceeds to ask for my info and tells me I have a five dollar credit instore but have to use it in a week...Unbelievable. All I could do was literally laugh. Will not be ordering from you again. Just thought youd want to be aware of how your employees handle legitimate customer complaints. Thanks.

We have been up at Sparrow Hospital for the last week with our mother in-law. She was in an automobile accident. We were getting tired of hospital food so we decided to try some places close. The workers noticed our visiter badges and went out of there way to wish us the best. We ordered about $80 in food and wanted a few things of ranch and tarter sauce they gave us 1 big bottle of each for free because they see where having a rough week. We would love to say thank you very much! Means the world to us. The food was out standing! Definitely recommend this market!!! Thank you so much!

2nd time ordering from this place. 1st time placed a large order catering for 35 and got the excuse the next day that they thought maybe the order was fraud.... so they chose not to call or anything and just didnt cook the order even though it still charged my card. Had to then wait 30-40 mins at the store for them to cook without apology or discount for incoinvience. 2nd time ordering same excuse said they didnt get the order even though I received an email from them saying they received the order and my card was charged. Lack of management.

The fried catfish was really good: crispy breading and juicy inside. The breading itself was delicious with just enough salt and just enough spice to add flavor. Fried okra is hard to do right, but they got it right. A thin coating of delicious breading over okra deep fried just enough to be done through but not overdone. Served in a brown paper bag with rolled down sides, you cant stop until theyre gone.
