My parents and I really like Peoples Food Co-Op because the products are of high quality and the service is friendly and efficient. PFC offers excellent bulk foods. Examples of such bulk foods we only get at PFC are smooth salted peanut butter, whole wheat bread flour, brown basmati rice, arborio rice, and various types of dry beans. In addition, PFC has rotating sales on their "munchies", including chips, crackers, and cookies, which only contain natural ingredients. For example, Field Day organic round crackers, Kettle potato chips, and Newman sandwich cookies are often a hit. When those such products are not on sale, we find similar products that are reasonably priced during a given time. I know many people are disgruntled about the pricing, but sometimes it is worth paying a little extra for a food that is good for us and the environment. I do agree that the prices on some of the goods are a bit too high, but I still think PFC is an excellent store for specialized organic groceries.

Their products are great. But the prices are criminal. They have millions of dollars in reserve, but yet they still charge about 15-30% more than Whole Foods for most items. They have completely priced out the people they said they wanted to serve when they moved to the new location. They also have jacked up the prices on the farmers and vendors at the Farmers Market, which means that they have had to raise prices. This further restricts access to healthy, fresh foods in Kalamazoo. Considering the amount they are sticking into their reserves this year, the Co-Op could easily lower prices on everything by 25% and still make a healthy profit. As it stands, they are basically just waiting for Whole Foods to come to town to put them out of business.

This is one of the few places in the Kalamazoo area to find specialty organic and bulk health foods. Its incredibly organized and clean. They also have the Can-Do Kitchen where they hold cooking classes, as well as being available for special events. In the summer, there is a small farmers market just outside their parking lot every Wednesday. The only downside to this place would be the prices. The quality is very high, but youll pay for it. There are some bargains to be found from time to time, though.

Prices are reasonable, for a health food store. Selection isnt bad. They have bulk organic raisins, which sounds like maybe not a great reason for shopping there, but, for instance, Sawalls does not. Im automatically removing a star because they sell homeopathic "remedies". Thats taking advantage of your customers. Maybe sell them alongside a big sign that says "theres no evidence at all that this works"?

Great for organic food. Good selection of bulk products including spices, nuts, legumes, and honey. Nice deli selection. Gave it 4 stars because prices are steep. But you can join their co-op and everything is discounted. Good place to find all natural, good for you food and supplements.

Small niche of a place, easy to miss. Recently added more hot food options. Great place to get food for vegan and vegetarian diets. Food is organic, for the most part, and local. It is pricey, but you pay more to support local businesses and healthy options. Indoor farmer market.

This is truly a fantastic grocery store. Lovely Deli, Frozen and cold food as well as extensive healthy packaged food options. Knowledgeable staff and my favorite part is most of our money stays in the community as the coop does everything they can to buy locally.

This place really took off when they moved to the current location from their hole in the wall on Burdick. Great staff that are friendly and knowledgeable. Totally worth the membership but not needed to shop here.
