I really enjoy going into café 1923 , on most days the staff is fun , friendly and the atmosphere is relaxed . It was the first café I went to when I moved to Hamtramck nine months ago . After recently starting a new job, I was looking for a place to grab a cup of coffee in the morning before I go to work. Today was the day I was about to start going in there every morning for work. I tried to start some small talk with the barista . I was looked at with disgust and receive sharp answers. I think she was upset about how empty the shop was. For the record most days there are tons of people in there. After the awkward interaction I walked to my car where she promptly looked at me out the window of the café until I drove off . Most people will love their experience at Café 1923, but it will be sometime before I give it another shot.

I dont know how we didnt find this place sooner! Its a perfect cute WiFi cafe. The atmosphere is comfortably versatile to have a conversation, read a book, or do homework. The two rooms provide a quieter room for intense studying while the cafe area is busier and houses the food, live music, and much of the chatter. Well definitely be back!

One of my favorite coffee houses! The atmosphere is very comforting, and goes great with the coffee. This house is also one of the best places to visit if you are in need of some quiet study time. If youre truly a fan of coffee, try the Michigan Cherry coffee, or the Mexican coffee. Both are great!

Favorite coffee shop in the Detroit area. Fantastic coffee, the staff are some of the nicest people youll ever meet. Quiet environment, lots of seating, and an outdoor patio. Very clean as well. Free WiFi. Not a single bad thing to say about this place. $2 for a coffee, 25 cents for a refill.

Probably the most classic coffee house in the area. Theres a place for everything: reading, working, playing games, having a meeting, having a bite to eat. The only negative is that the drip coffee is not that good, so I would stay with the espresso based coffee drinks.

Cafe 1923 is an awesome little coffee shop, with just enough other things like tea, smoothies, and goodies to make even someone like me happy. (I dont actually like coffee..) Its colorful and friendly and a great spot to chat and do work. Highly recommend!!

Coffee and espresso drinks are good, as well as pastries. Lots of flyers for local events. Staff is friendly and good at their jobs. Many diverse seating areas, provides comfort for several different situations, from meetings to study to just relaxation.
