I visited Rockfellers last night with a party of 4 for a late dinner and had the worst service I think I have ever had at a restaurant. We were greeted at our table quickly but it took over 30 minutes for our waitress to take our order. Our drinks were brought to the table quickly but she had forgotten to bring my husbands beer and did not apologize when I reminded her. After ordering, it took over 45 minutes for our food to come without any explanation from the waitress on what caused the delay. At one point, she and I made eye contact during our wait to which she quickly turned and went in the kitchen but never came out as if she were scared to tell us that our food was still not ready. She came to the table 10 minutes later and said that our food was coming right up; which was not true. We were aware that there was a large party in the back room because one of the people at my table saw friends she knew exiting from the large party but according to them, they had long since finished dinner. Overall our meal was tasty but the service ruined our experience. When the waitress returned and asked if we wanted dessert, I told her that we did not have an additional 30 minutes to wait for dessert. When she brought the bill, she still never apologized, simple dropped our bill on the table and said a forced "thank you" without making eye contact and left. Finally, I approached the owner Mr. Deering who i saw at the bar to tell him about our experience. He questioned my claim that the waitress had an attitude, did apologize that there was a large group that slowed the kitchen down and said he would "rectify the situation". I had expected him to offer to take a percentage off the bill or a free dessert or even something for a return visit but nothing, Our bill was $187 and he offers nothing! I have never tipped less than 20% in my life even when I have had questionable service; for our waitress, I tipped 10% hoping she got the message that her attitude was inexcusable and inappropriate.

Weve been to Rockefellers three times, but thats enough for us. The third and final time was this past Saturday night. Service was slow (even though the restaurant was empty, which for a Saturday night is never a good sign, right?). It took 10 minutes for our waitress to come to the table and greet us. After we ordered, she came back to our table 5 minutes later to take our order (!). We reminder her that she already did. Food arrived promptly, but it was pretty lousy. The lobster bisques were lukewarm. My wife had to send her salad back because the dressing was WAY TOO salty. I had the fish and chips....the chips were the frozen crinkle kind out of a bag....the fish was soggy. While not the kind of experience that would sour us on a restaurant if it were our first time, this was our third visit to Rockefellers in a year and it seems to have gotten worse. Our first two visits were below average as well. We wanted to like the restaurant--the concept is great and the bar is aesthetically pleasing--but its just not working for us. Too bad really because is a nice guy and we wanted to try its next-door sister restaurant, Bootleggers Pig and Whiskey, but they share the same kitchen and the same staff, so its probably not any different.

I just left Arts, Beats, and Eats where I visited Rockefellers booth......the service was absolutely horrible and the rib tips were just has bad. I paid $22.40 (14 tickets) for for an order that consisted of only one bone chopped up. It was inedible to say the least, there was way more fat than meat which is ridiculous. No chance of me visiting your place based on this experience.

5 star! Food, Service, Entertainment! Have been several times, each friend I have been with has been thoroughly satisfied with total experience! The proprietor is a delight! The area was saddened with the closing of Dylans, a treat to have Rockefellers with us now!

Top notch and friendly service. Best Sunday brunch in metro Detroit. The Oyster Rockefeller is amazing every time I have visited! The whitefish dinner was very, very good. Thanks to everyone there for making my dinner a wonderful experience.

Bartender sucks and gets rude when you ask when your drink is coming up because it takes forever. Super rude. Wish it was the Toms oyster bat of old
