The food is GREAT. Its a small restaurant lunch time is crazy busy. You should come in the backdoor to get in line then give your order at the front and pay, draw you drinks, select a table and anticipate an amazing mouthwatering feast. I know this sounds like a lot of work just for lunch, but even if its just once in a lifetime event it needs to be on your bucket list. Its old school, really cool, big city feel, in a neighborhood deli. The staff are friendly but to the point, after all its lunchtime and you have to get back to work!

People will make special trips when theyre in New York, Chicago or any other big city to get a real sandwich. Grand Rapids is lucky to have Schnitz Deli. Its the real deal, the services is great, it is quality without pretension and it is delicious. The sides are great and a half sandwich is a whole sandwich with half the meat so consider yourself warned.

(Ada MI) Worst service Ive ever come across. We came in with kids (ages 2 & 4) we were babysitting along with their happy meals. As we were being seated by the hostess we were told that the kids were not allowed to eat the food we brought in with them. Ive never had this happen before.

They do it and they do it very well. I have been going here for years, great sammies and sides. The texas sheet cake is on time, somebody buy me a full sheet of that for my birthday please. The only negative is their operating hours, if I get a craving after 2 pm then I am screwed.

Twice in a row my orders were messed up. First time totally wrong sandwichs, they did make it right but I had to go all the way back. 2nd time in none of the "include / exclude" items were done, the food was made per the menu. For the price it should be right.

I really dont get what all the fuss about this place is over. It was an okay sandwich, but nothing to get excited about. Prices are a bit high if you only want half of a sandwich. The red skin potato salad was amazing though. I might go back for that alone.

Their sandwiches are the best from San Francisco to DC. No complaints, not ever, and I and my co workers have eaten there at least a dozen times. Id go everyday if I lived there but since Im in town only once a month I only get to eat there then.

By far the best deli in Grand Rapids, potentially even in Southwest Michigan. Their food is delicious, their prices are affordable, and the amount of food you get for what you pay is outstanding. I eat here at least once a week. Love this place.

Always a great place to grab delicious soup, redskin potato salad, sandwiches, all with generous portion sizes! This place is usually quite busy over a standard lunch time - best to get here as soon as you feel hungry!
