2 years ago, my husband and I came to Osaka, for the first time. We fell in love with the food, service and atmosphere! Ever since, we have made it a habit to visit once every few months, or so. Every time, the food and service was great. Over the last six months, weve come to eat twice, and both times were not so good. The first incident was in late December, 2016. Our waitress seemed uninterested and annoyed that we were there. The food was still OK, but the service was very hard to forget. We ordered a very simple sushi dinner, with soup and salad. The sushi came and when we asked where the soup and salad was, we were told it was forgotten. Moving on to tonight. It was about 8pm, Friday night. They were slightly busy for hibachi, but the sushi bar was pretty dead. The waitress was really slow to take our drink orders, so we immediately ordered the grilled squid as an appetizer. We waited, and waited.... Finally, the squid came and she then took our dinner orders. All I have to say is What the heck is going on?! The squid was so spicy that both of us choked from the heat, at first. Weve ordered it many times, because it was delicious and perfectly cooked, but wow. It was cooked nicely, if you could stand chewing it. Meanwhile, no refills and no waitress in sight. About 20 minutes later, my sushi (no soup or salad) comes, and his soup, salad, and sushi comes. Lol. I was super annoyed at this point. I bite into what is supposed to be a spicy scallop hand roll and get a mouthful of grease! I try my spider roll, and it too was terribly greasy. Worst experience ever. From now on, we will be going to Tokyo Grill, off of Breton and 44th. The restaurant is pristine, the food is fresh and cooked perfectly, and the service is always top notch. Goodbye, Osaka. Thanks for the lovely bubbles in my guts tonight ;)

Half off sushi days are great, my sushi always tastes good. But Ive left here on two separate occasions because our tables were sticky, they had crumbs on them, even used chopsticks and the tip book was left on the table! They didnt even pick it up yet! Someone spilled soy sauce on the floor and the waiters just told people to be careful and never picked it up after 1.5+ hours! And when I sat down, it was a big sticky mess. We noticed people around us comment on the messyness. I noticed too that our waiter would bring our food out touching it with his thumb as he was holding it! Nasty! Also, the waitresses make me feel uncomfortable. Most of them have big attitudes and act like they dont want to serve me. Also theres been three times that no one has come back after my food has been served. No water, nothing. And last night, we waited over an hour for our order. We had several plates that were finished and he would look at them but never pick them up. It was so crowded! I know its half off sushi and they are busy, but hire more people or something! Kinda ridiculous..I love the food, but the service is terrible and its dirty. And I always have to park at Applebees cuz there isnt enough parking most of the time!

Osaka Sushi Steakhouse is terrible. I had relatively high expectations due to good reviews. Service - Very poor. 25 minutes before I had a water on my table. The waitress was rude, I had questions about different options for the soup and salad that came with my lunch order and she ignored them. She said it was "all taken care of". Food - Disgusting. I ordered the hibachi salmon which came with "clear soup" and salad. The soup was essentially ramen noodle flavored water with 1 slice of mushroom and and couple slivers of green onion. The salad was ice burg lettuce swimming in dressing. The entree was covered in a very sweet and salty sauce, as if they did not want me to actually taste the food. The salmon was very dry on the inside. The fried rice was decent, the sauce had not been added to it. Overall this place is overpriced, and the hibachi food is disgusting (I did not try any sushi). The ambience and decor are nice, in my opinion that is what you are paying for.

We had a terrible experience! We should have known better when it took 5 min to even get greeted by staff, it went downhill from there, another lengthy amount of time had passed before as received drinks. Food came out, half hour or so, after ordered and my dish was missing all the sides (salad & rice) I asked to have them brought out, never received an apology, it was more of an annoyance that they had to come back. We have server the check with credit card. Literally 10 plus min goes by, no server to return our card. We get up, go searching for our server, who when asked, didnt even know he didnt return our credit card. He had to search through a couple stacks of portfolios that were in different areas to see if our card was inside one of them. This was really a terrible experience. We wont be back.

This is the worst place I ever been to, I just took my son went over there ask to sit at the hibachi table and the waiter told me that we cant seat there because only one of us ordering hibachi so I left. I been to so many hibachi places before and this is the first place that ever tell me that we cant seat at the table, my son enjoy watching the show thats part of the hibachi. I wouldnt rate one star if they allow me to cause they dont even deserve that because of the way they treated their customers. Im happily spend my money somewhere else. We are at Shanghai Ichiban Chinese & Japanese Restaurant and they let us seat at the hibachi table without any questions. If you want to eat hibachi choose shanghai Ichiban.

Osaka is the only Hibachi Ive been to that gets it down right every time I go there. They know all the allergen information, and can communicate it in clear English, so I never have to worry about going anaphylactic due to a sauce or fish. In addition to including noodles with the dinner (something a lot of other steakhouses dont so), they wont hesitate to throw an extra steak or breast on the grill, free of charge, if they screw up proportions and give someone too little. In terms of chef entertainment/ability, it varies, but Ive never had an improperly cooked meal. The cost is really good too. You can expect to pay roughly the same as if you went to Chilis, Olive Garden, etc.

Worst sushi we have ever had! Menu descriptions are deceiving. Ordered the Naruto roll & it came rolled in cucumber without rice. Basically just fish & a giant slice of cucumber for $13! Our waitress was terrible & unfriendly. She noticed we were not enjoying our meal & shrugged it off.. even when I complained the roll didnt match the menu description. And the worst part was we used a 20% off coupon & in the fine print it said an automatic 18% gratuity would be added to our meal for using the coupon. We didnt want to tip our waitress anything! Thanks Osaka for the crappy meal & 2% discount! Will never go back!
