My husband and I found this jem by investigating this new area and reading about other restaurants located on 30 A. We took a chance to grab some sushi and we were thrilled with our choice. From the warm and friendly greeting, to the kind and attentive service we felt welcome. Our Server KK was wonderful. She made several recommendations and we wound up with the Lady GaGa Roll and the Spicy Tuna rolls which were both by far, the most amazing and fresh sushi we had every tasted. We ordered pad thai to go and ate that the next day for lunch. AWESOME!! The experience and the service exceeded our expectations and we came back a second night with another couple to enjoy more sushi and more pad thai. KK and Annie were wonderful hosts and welcomed us back the second time. I would HIGHLY encourage all sushi and thai fans to go to Shan Kishi and those who like hibachi as well. Outstanding food at a great price with friendly and helpful service.

Went for new years eve 2014 and had a very good experience. The servers are authentic, try learning Japanese if you want to criticize :) The food was fresh and tasty and reasonably/competitively priced. We couldnt see the itamae from our bar area but that was a good section to be in (not so many ppl) The staff was friendly and reserved a table for us over the phone, though it proved unnecessary. All of the sushi/sashimi/rolls tasted fresh, then wash that down with some alcohol. Ive had better ambience so Im leaving a **** review. As far as the waiting staff complaints, dont be in a rush, be patient, be a waiter for a day for someone with extra high expectations (like yourself)!!! :P TIPS: Read the menu, learn Japanese, bring a fork! LOL, & soy sauce = butcher, dont point your sticks at the waiter, dont take your shoes off at the door ROFL

Shan Kishi is very small, so its not the best place to take a crowd of 20 people, but its kinda cozy. The ambiance is nice, and would be suitable for a romantic dinner, or casual dining with friends or co-workers. The food is a lot better than most of the Sushi Ive had lately, but it still only rates as average. Ive traveled a good bit, and Ive had some great sushi. The price is about right for what you get, and the presentation of the food is very nice, often including an Orchid, or some neatly arranged food. I will go to shan kishi again. The service is good, the waitresses are nice. The bathroom is very clean, and decorated well. No, it doesnt knock your socks off, but the food is good, and fresh, with lots of options for sushi.

Waitresses were rude, while taking an order our waitress examined her nails, watched other customers. When we asked to explain the difference between 2 sushi menus, the explanation was that "it is different fishes". Our food came much later than the food of a couple who arrived half an hour after us. The place was going to close at 11 pm, and around 10 they started sweeping the floors, taking tablecloths, spraying tables and seats around us. When we were close to finishing our meal, but still had some left, the waitresses were trying to take our plates. The food... Miso soup was great, but thats about it. We had 6 different rolls, and none of them were good. Some were huge and ingredients feel out as you pick a piece.

If I could give zero stars I would, as a family of 6 we came in at dinner time, it was a little busy but was sat right away, it took about 15 minutes to get our drink order and once we got them 10 mins later it took another 15 mins before we could put in our order. 4 adults and 2 young kids it took over a Hr and 20 mins for our food to hit the table, Hibachi was okay, sushi was bland "kiss roll" and the hot noodles tasted burnt.... no apologys for the slow slow slow service. We were there almost 2.5 hrs with at least 5 tables being sat and finished before we left. We all just had one dish, nothing extreme. After our concerns the first time the waitress gave us attitude the entire time. Will not go back or recommend.

Two of my best friends and I were on vacation and craving hibachi so we decided to give this place a shot. I must say, it was probably the best decision we made for the entire trip! DELICIOUS!!! The portions are huge- definitely got our moneys worth! The waitress was super nice and helpful! If you are wanting great food- definitely try this place out! The decor was beautiful, atmosphere was relaxing, and I cannot emphasize enough how great the food was! I ordered the steak/chicken, another ordered the chicken teriyaki, and another ordered the steak. The steak was cooked perfectly, the chicken was moist and tender, so much flavor! If I could give ten stars I would!

We took our 14 year old son for his 15th birthday for the all you can eat sushi lunch. Phenomenal experience for all 3 of us. The place was clean, well staffed, and friendly all around. The all you can eat option includes the entire menu, including appatizers, entrees, and sushi. All of the food was spot on and the waitress answered our multiple "new to sushi" questions with a smile. We are highly critical of places we spend our hard earned cash at and we had nothing negative to say about this place. Ill only leave a review for places that deserve 5 stars, nobody likes a negative nancy.

My husband and I are sushi fans and we were so glad we ate at Shan Kishi. The night before we had eaten at a hibachi restaurant in Panama City whose whole staff was caucasian. It just didnt feel authentic. But at Shan Kishi, the whole experience works together: the staff, the decor, and of course the good food. We were pleased with the 2 Roll Lunch Special. We were surprised to find that it included soup and salad (with perfect ginger dressing), plus 2 rolls of our choice, for only $9. Its the best deal Ive ever seen, and it tasted great! I happily recommend Shan Kishi to anyone!

This was the worst experience of my life ! The waitresses were very rude. I would have to ask three times until they got me what I wanted. They were not good at explaining us their menu. They charged me for the food that I did not eat. (Because I was "wasting" their food.) Although, I was too full to finish my food. Also, the sashimi (raw fish) was warm, this is not safe. The people that are working there do not have adequate public people skills. They can barely speak English. I have never been so disappointed in a sushi bar. I do not recommend this restaurant. WORST EXPERIENCE EVER.

Best Japanses Restaurant I had for the short stay in US. Staff are friendly and helpful, the food is delicious and fresh. The restaurant offers huge range of food for both lunch and dinner. They also have "all you can eat" buffet at a reasonable price from 11am to 4.30pm. Definitely one of the top restaurants for sushi loves. The restaurant played both Chinese and English songs. In conclusion: 5 stars for friendly staff 5 stars for fresh and delicious food 5 stars for environment and music 5 stars for price. Dont miss it, people.
