On September 10, 2016 my family decided to celebrate my daughters birthday at Kabuki after a special request from her after researching many places . BIG MISTAKE after 18 of our family members showed up many of which had never eaten at Kabuki were excited about trying somewhere new. The hostess first came over and said that the food would be delayed because there was only one grill working and with such a large party we may not be able to enjoy our food together. The hostess even came and took some menus from the table before some of the party made decisions on their entrees she said they didnt have enough for other customers coming in TACKY. I asked my daughter did she want to leave but she was dead set on this place. The server Yousif was a God send he did everything in his power to make my daughters experience as memorable as possible. After everyone received their food which was a process in itself. The wait staff although nice seemed a little overwhelmed. We requested some additional silverware we were told that some needed to be washed off mind you the place only had about 50 people inside at the time. Some of the salads were missing and some soups were missing.Eventually the staff brought things over. At the end of the meal my daughter received a birthday sundae which is PRINTED in the MENU that the chef would come out and take photos with the birthday person. The hostess came out and told us that all of the Chefs said they were too BUSY to take a picture as promised in the menu printed by the restaurant. The resturant was not even half full. I was in complete disbelief in other similar much larger establishments we were treated much better. I immediately went to the server and explained that the party had spent over 600.00 and were pretty upset that the birthday girl was almost in tears from the chef refusing to come out. The hostess called the owner and in her words had to do a lot of C-O-N-V-I-N-C-I-N-G to get the chef to come out. The chef was dressed like a maintenance worker. No apron no hat no indication of being a chef. I went along with the picture because MY NINE YEAR OLD DAUGHTER almost in tears because of all the confusion. The members of the birthday group cover many different professional settings throughout the state of Michigan. WE were all in agreement to make sure that we spread the word on this HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE. MY FAMILY, FRIENDS and ASSOCIATES WOULD NEVER EVER EVER eat here again. THANKS KABUKI FOR RUINING MY DAUGHTERS DAY. I WILL CONTINUE TO TELL EVERYONE HOW WE WERE TREATED. THANKS YOUSIF FOR ALL YOUR HELP.

i ordered take out and over the phone she gave me the price but it seemed high for what I ordered. Due to me driving i just decided to check the menu once i arrived at the restaurant. I order a kids steak (10.90) comes with white rice and a soup and a drink. I also ordered two side orders of chicken fried rice (3.95 each) so my meal should have been 18.80 plus tax. Over the phone she told me $25.68. when i got there I was speaking with a waitress she said she didnt ring up my order the manager did, so i had to speak with her. The manager told me that the price for a side of chicken fried rice is 5.95 and since i orders two that 11.90. I showed her the menu (and mind you i have been here before ) and she tells me that the 3.95 is an up charge fee if you dont want the white rice... I explained that the menu says under side orders it says 3.95, she says the menu is wrong and it dosent have to say in the menu that its an up charge. I left with out getting the food. because i refuse to be lied to and for someone to try to steal more money from me.

Been to the old location many times. First time at the new location. They seem to have stayed consistent over the years. Food is delicious. I always really enjoy their food which is why I accept the prices. Im willing to spend more if it means the food is good. The service continues to be unimpressive. Our waitress was fantastic. Very friendly, helpful, and patient. That part was worlds better than previous visits. However the front and back communication is still poor. We didnt get a salad we ordered and I had to ask after one of my sushi dishes. If you dont mind alright service and are ready to spend some money this is a great place to eat good sushi in the area.

First time going here. Went after work so the crowd was light. Took the food a while to come out. There were 2 guys preparing the sushi. However, the sushi was good and presented well. Server forgot our sake order multiple times. Spicy mayo was horrible. It arrived and looked like regular mayonnaise so they clearly tried to make it from scratch. Do not order the spicy mayo. Wasabi wasnt fresh and didnt burn my nose no matter how much of it i used. First impression wasnt all that good but i would go back to give them another chance. Will post pictures next time.

Went to dinner with my family, a total of 7 of us, enjoyed our food but were surprised to see 20% gratuity automatically added to our bill. I understand that for larger parties an additional gratuity charge is added but none of the staff explained the additional charge beforehand, nor was it mentioned in the menu or anywhere. I completely disagree with forcing the customer to pay a hefty tip especially when the waiters were inattentive and had to be asked for drinks constantly. The place wasnt even full of people.. probably wont come here again

Went to kabuki with my brother for his birthday. Four of us total. Only brought 3 waters, only brought 2 plates for appetizers and 1 set of chopsticks. Took forever for dinner. Didnt bring everyones food out at the same time, trash all over the floor. Bathroom was disgusting, staff seemed super disorganized, they need a manager!!!! Like seriously whole place was a joke even the waitresses who we had like 3 were a total joke. I have been a food service manager for over 6 years and like I said this place is just mismanaged.

Terrible service. Waited over an hour for our sushi and it didnt even taste fresh. We canceled an order and the manager still tried to charge us for it and held us from leaving the resturant and accused us for not paying for it when we canceled the order and didnt even apologize for falsely accusing. I do not recommend, terrible service. The resteraunt wasnt even busy that night when this all happened. We didnt even have an assigned server. Save your money and go somewhere else

I have been to Kabuki several times because I do think they have some tasty sushi offerings. However, I believe it is a bit over priced and the service is not good. It is also way too dark and I dont understand why. Turn on some lights! I think Kabuki needs to step up their game. The place is huge but I have never seen it even half full. Hopefully they can step up their game!

Everything was great except I never got my drink until food came and server did not check back again until almost finished with meal. Of something was wrong we would not have been able to tell her. Server should check back after a few bites taken and keep watch over all tables to see if someone is looking around for help or refill. Food is always amazing tho
