I would first like to say I think the idea of a sports complex/bar/restaurant is awesome and that is probably why I will continue to go back. It pains me to think of how this place will probably be closed in a few years as there is never anyone there but the management has done that to themselves. Im going to start with their organized leagues, or should i say disorganized leagues. No one seems to know whats going on and the requirements change pending on who you ask. We were recently told that we cant sign subs up for our team, which is ludicrous. We run with a team of 8 allowing for two subs and now if we all show up they wont be able to play, this is an asinine "rule". The only real structure the league provides are a court number and game time. If you want anything more than that, this is not the place for you. The reason I like to play here is I can get a beer while playing, its supposed to be a fun relaxed environment but for some odd reason it takes 20 minutes to get a beer. Its quite ridiculous and has been consistent over the past few years and over multiple different waitresses. Ive come to the conclusion its a systematic issue and I live with it. The staff seems to look upset all the time which I conclude is because serving their customers is such a difficult process and it really affects the service. This is probably a reason I see so much turnover with the staff, that or the place is never busy and no one can make enough to work there. Not once since Ive been going there, probably 3 years now, has anyone other than the wait staff came over to my table to see if everything is alright. There have been times when our table has been clearly upset, orders were wrong and drinks were later than the normal long wait, and there was no manager in sight. Ive seen the same issues with many other tables there as well. Overall I love the idea of On the Dunes just not the actual place. There is a lot of wasted potential due to what I believe is poor organization and a lack of customer service. I hope they can turn things around.

Sounded fun so me and a group of friends went here last night for our friends birthday. The bartender thought my ID was fake and almost didnt serve me. I told her she could ask me any question about myself, she replied with "when I had a fake ID I memorized the whole thing too." Then I found out they did that to more than just me in my group! They also have a $15 ice bucket that is supposed to come with 5 beers (they dont have pitchers here, only towers for $25) and it is advertised on their menu and even posters on the wall. But apparently they cant serve those. The staff was extremely cranky and rude. There were 3 volleyball games going and no one had wristbands on at any of the courts, but the staff chose random people who they wanted to pay to play. There was no one letting you know how much each game cost or what things you had to pay for. It was all just open. They also have ping pong, with paddles and a ball on sitting on the table, but dont touch it unless you pay or you will get in trouble. It would make so much more sense if they had a cover charge instead of having unfriendly staff come up all angry about everything that you do. Overall, the idea behind this is great, but I will not be going back. Too many negative vibes here.

I love this place!! If you like sports, you will be in heaven. HD tvs everywhere you look! When you walk in theres a lovely waterfall, to the right there is a beautiful putting green and private rooms (i think 8 of them) with top of line golf simulators with your own bar and tv to watch the game of your choice while you eat and drink waiting for your turn to hit, theres even a golf pro on hand if you need assistance. Nice outdoor patio and bar overlooking 8 awesome volleyball courts (sand imported from the great dunes of Michigan) and 2 horseshoe pits. They thought of everything from golf to ping-pong. Yes, there are a couple of ping-pong tables inside! You will not be disappointed. Friendly staff. Food was fantastic - bruschetta (appetizer) was super yummy!!! Ladies, take your date here if you want to really impress him!

Had my daughters hockey team party here, and they were the opposite of accommodating. They required all guests to get the pizza buffet because it would be to confusing for someone to order a sandwich and there was a genuine fear that a non-paying guest would steal a glass of pop. $355 got us 6 pizzas, a large salad, and 5 pitchers of pop (for 28 people). For an additional $100, we rented 2 lanes of fowling, which was fun. But, we were falsely accused of using 3 lanes and treated like criminals because we stayed an extra 3 minutes to finish a game. We were the only people in the joint, so it isnt like someone else was waiting to play. The pizza was good and the entire place seems like a great concept, but they need to change how the run parties. Over $50 in gratuity, and we had to go to the bar to order our drinks...

I cant stand the food at this place. I am almost forced to eat here due to my volleyball league on Thursday. They have half off appetizers, which is a pretty irresistible deal, too bad after trying every app I hate them all. The Mac with added pulled pork is good, but I cant eat that every week! I will die of a heart attack! They have pathetic nachos. Maybe they just made mine bad, but there was a ton of chips, no melted cheese, and a ton of mayo sauce, which I hated. Try putting just cheese, tomato, lettuce, and refried beans guys, its pretty easy to make good nachos. I dont even want to get into the other apps. They need some health conscious choices on this app menu. If it wasnt for the sports aspects, zero stars!

The HD Golf simulators used here are a few years behind in technology. If youre looking to kill some time and swing the wrenches when theres snow out, then youll be pretty happy. If youre looking to work on your game, youre going to be frustrated. The tees fly out of their screw-in holes frequently. Theres a 10 yard difference between where you think you are and where it looks like you are - making it appear youre on the green, but really on the fringe. Shots frequently go untracked. You must hit the screen or the ball wont track. And forget high lob shots, they just dont register on this system. The staff goes out of their way to help out, but that cant overcome the deficiencies in the simulators.

Came here with some friends a few times now and really enjoy the golf. The golfing system is hands down one of the best systems in the metro Detroit area. The service is usually great buy be warned becsuse there is a shorter female waitress who has an issue with crude humor and foul language that not only bothered my friends wifes but the family next to me had younger children too. Also tonight our pizza was overly greasy. because I wouldve had a heart attack if I ate it I sent it bsck, and a taller guy (said he was one of the managers) came by and was very helpful with the situation and it was appreciated how well he handled our parties problems. I would recommend coming here again.
