Ive tried this place a few times because its close to my house. I went there on a Sunday and tried to order hot and sour soup. I was told they dont serve this soup on Sundays, so I was disappointed, especially because it was listed on the menu. I also tried to order a dish, also listed on the menu and they stated they did not serve that on Sundays either. I ended up ordering something random, which was fine. More recently, I called to place an order to be picked up, thinking that would save me some time. I was told there was a two hour wait and then the call was disconnected (on purpose, by the woman who answered). I called back again, told the woman we were disconnected and asked if I were to come in, if it would be any quicker. She said no and then we were disconnected. I called back and mentioned the poor "connection" and told her I would be willing to wait the two hours for the pick up order, not because I wanted to but because I felt I was being blown off and she told me she was not accepting orders. I noted she didnt close for 2.5 hours and that I felt there was still time and then asked why she would quote me a wait time if it wasnt something she was willing to do. She said they were busy and again disconnected the call. Outside of these most recent experiences, the food was average as well as the price. Food is presented nicely though. The restaurant could use some updating as there are flowers painted on the ceiling where there have been water leaks on the white tiles and there is often sauce splatters on the walls by the tables, so it is a bit tacky/dirty.

The secret to this place is order off the Chinese Menu. Its really amazing traditional chinese food. Off the beaten path and a bit out there, its the favorite place where Asian grad students take their parents for dinner (when theyre paying). The Xin Jiang style spicy chicken is my favorite (be warned its a Whole chicken flash fried in peanut oil, shredded and heavily spiced). And the lima beans in picked vegetables (mellow mild and not what you expect.) If you want other things, the fish soup in sichuan sauce is amazing but is enough for 4-6 people. The lamb in cumim and peanuts in sea weed are also intereting and off the beaten path. If you have trouble explaining what you want point to the items on the chinese menu or ask for the manager. Its worth it!

This is the first time I ate here. I was pleasantly surprised by the friendly, helpful staff. The menu is like a book and I plan to try some of the many offerings, but today I had to try the Mongolian Beef because I have been unable to find a place that prepares it the way I remember it from years ago when it became my go to dish. It was close to perfect although a bit heavy on the sugar and missing the crispy rice noodle bed. The atmosphere was pleasant with subdued lighting and scenes of authentic Asian cooking on the flat screen. It was very clean and the single stall bathroom was accessible to wheelchairs. Altogether a satisfying experience.

We took our exchange student here for Chinese New Year, and it was packed! There is a menu in English and Chinese, and there are a lot of choices from more Americanized Chinese dishes to much more traditional fare. The bonus for us was that they also have a Malaysian menu in the very back--which was perfect since our exchange student is from Malaysia and we thought the closest place we could get Malaysian food was Detroit! We really enjoyed our meal and look forward to returning when it isnt so busy since it (understandably) took a long time to order and get our food.

Without question the best Chinese restaurant in Ann Arbor - but only if you like unconventional, the authentic, the adventuresome eating. Its possible to get very spicy food here; many dishes are very generously portioned. The long menu can take 20 minutes to get through and even longer to understand. Really, nothing else compares to this place in A2. Id give it 5 stars but quality can be a little erratic, chancy and some dishes arent always available. And its hardly a lavish environment. Many many Asians eat here.

The annoying thing is that I have had a few great meals here - but many more that were almost inedible. I ordered take out and was literally ignored for 10 minutes, before being told my meal wasnt ready yet - even though it had been 25 minutes and they told me 15. Then - the hot and sour soup was ICE COLD, and the duck was not prepared according the menu - it tasted like old Kentucky fried duck. Gross. When I called to tell them, they did not care at all. Truly rude and obnoxious. Never again.

Worst service I ever had! Food was great, but the service was awful. Asked for water two times and got one glass of water and there was seven of us. Everyone got one napkin and thats it. Someone spilled a small cup of tea when when the waitress handed her the food instead of putting it down on the table. Messed our order up and they were very rude and then demanded a tip before they gave me my change. Never in my life have I received such terrible service, and first time I didnt leave a tip!

This is the best chineese chineese food in Ann Arbor. Good portions and superb meals. Price is good, for Ann Arbor. Everything costs 25% more here. The atmosphere is never negative, but there are no ornate fixtures if that is what you are looking for. We always recive fair and attentive service from one of the young ladies, an older lady just gets us what we ask for or need. We are there for the food so it serves us just fine. From 1 to 10: Food-12, Price-10, Atmosphere-6, Service-5

Absolutely amazing. The menu is gigantic and its kind of hard to identify what anything actually is, but if you have a broad palate you will not go hungry or be disappointed. Incredible eggplant, pork belly that must be tasted to be believed, wonderful mushroom stir fry, its a really incredible selection of great food. I went with ~6 other people and we all shared everything, family-style. I encourage you to do the same, to try as much of the menu as you can.

It looks bombed out and decrepit, however it is hands down the best Chinese food Ive ever had. They have great renditions of the Americanized food as well as Amazing Authentic Chinese food. I go at least once a month and try something new everytime. Every dish is usually enough food for 2 people. We usually each order a dish and share; so we can have left overs.

Authentic Chinese food menu (in addition to the American-Chinese offerings)! The book-like menu provided a pleasantly overwhelming number of choices. Of more than 130 people, only 10 of us were non-Chinese. All of us were obviously happy with the food if the clean plates were any indication.
