One of the worst restaurant experiences Ive had in a long time. We had a reservation for 15, they wouldnt seat up until we had 3/4 of our group, which was fair. However, once we had 11 people they sat us at a table that only first 11 people. When the remaining 4 people in our party arrived, instead of bringing an additional table over, they just made us squish into the existing table. Keeping things simple, we ordered a few pitchers of margaritas and 2 orders of guac (to go with the free chips & salsa). It took over 1/2 hour for the pitchers to come! Both the margaritas and the guac had far too much lime, and there was barely any alcohol in the margaritas. About an hour after the entire group arrived, we finally were able to order. Thankfully the food came quickly. However, it was subpar at best. Not even close to be authentic, it was also not very tasty. I ordered a Torta, which came on a store bought hamburger bun. In addition, the pork was terribly dry and tasteless. Others around me also were unimpressed with their meals, though they commented that the chicken quesadillas were okay. There was only 1 server for the entire group of us so service was slow and spotty. We only got 1 refill of water over the entire multi-hour meal. They never offered more chips and salsa. In fact, unless we wanted to order something else that cost money they were very dismissive and absent. I cant stress enough how unpleasant of any experience this was. Boston is not known for its Latin cuisine. This restaurant, however, goes right to the bottom of the list. There are so many restaurants with better quality, service and value. Look elsewhere, youll regret coming here.

This place is a joke and an insult to the Mexican people for trying to pawn off their food as authentic Mexican food. It is disgusting, I ordered the Enchiladas, they came lukewarm, hardly any chicken in them and the sauce hardly had any flavor. The sides that came with it were a little rice, a little refried bean and some shredded lettuce which was not that tasty and the rice was way too spicy. Had to ask for sour cream twice. Also ordered a blood orange margarita, I asked the server if it was a freshly squeezed blood orange and he said yes, well it was not fresh, it was blood orange mix and tasted like it was filtered through a cardboard box. I sent it back and ordered a watermelon margarita and that was like drinking a glass of liquified salt, disgusting, took two sips and said thats it, paid the bill reluctantly and got out of there as fast as I could. Never Again, you have my word on this review, dont waste your money!!!!

If I could rate less then one star for customer service I would: the food was pretty good not enough for me to want to subject myself to a waiter who mumbled through the menu, to the empty restaurant that we entered at 8 pm and you saw the wait staff goofing off with their manager, who honestly my friend and I had doubts as to wether or not he even was the manager. Who when I asked to speak to him came over and didnt even Introduce himself I had to ask twice what his name was, with the game on you would have thought it would be busy. Oh and this manager, who mind you after I gave him feedback about our waiter, had the guy tell us hes just tired. If hes tired send him home. And the manager after I gave that feedback? Who knows where he is. Dont come here.. Or if you do get the food to go.

Service was quick, food was good. I got three different tacos. The trailer park tacos Id avoid. The fried chicken they used was not of good quality. But the grilled chicken taco and fresh tuna tacos were extremely good!! My boyfriend got the enchiladas and ingested them within moments. Prices were good here, amazing selection of tequila, even better speciality drinks like the strawberry jalapenos margarita (highly recommend) or even their flavored margaritas; (I got the pomegranate one with sugar on the rim, super delicious not overly sweet nor bitter). Our bartender was funny and social able, even offered me some cough drops because I was slightly sick and had no voice.

Maybe it was just a bad night for them but the service was terrible. We say down and our server took our drink and appetizer order them disappeared for 10 minutes which felt normal. After our drinks came out he disappeared again for 20 minutes without taking our order. Comes back to take our order and apparently couldnt hear us over the music in the place because our order came out 1/2 wrong. After receiving our meal it was another 40 minutes before we saw the server again. In fact when we were ready for the check the manager had to get it for us. Wont be rushing back here soon at all.

Been here a few times and keep ordering the street tacos because they are really great. The menu is fairly standard for Mexican food but the veggie and the egg street tacos are my absolute favorite. They are really flavorful and filling and really hit the spot. The chips and guac is pretty good too but not better then most places that serve Mexican. The service was nice and fast but the bar area can get busy quickly after work. I am glad to see more options in east Somerville now that assembly square is taking shape.

I love this place!! They dont come to you with the guacamole cart here but everything is still great. I love the new Assembly Sq to begin with, yay lots of parking! The restaurant is big and has lots of seating, bar and tables. The fish tacos were amazing. Im sure this place will be packed once the word starts getting around.

I had high hopes for this restaurant and had eaten at there downtown Boston location a few years back. I found the food at this location, OK. My portion size was good, but the quality seemed like it was processed and not authentic. I had the Vegetarian Enchiladas. On the flip side, our server was friendly and outgoing.

As my wife said, this is the Applebees of Mexican food, but that is not fair to Applebees. Went with six people and every single entree was tasteless. $12 guacamole came in a small half filled bowl. Waiter was nice but incompetent. Cant understand why this place is still in business.

Ive been here several times and Papagayo has never failed to impress! The portions are generous and the margaritas are amazing (and cheap!). My favorite has to be the salmon tacos, with the fajitas in a close second. All of the margaritas are delicious, and fairly potent.

Not very good food, no where near authentic. Poor service, misleading recipe descriptions, confusing atmosphere (they started playing house music at 7:30, then kept switching between that and e-z listening for the next 2 hours). Over all very poor.

Really bad service. Got to the restaurant, asked for some salt for our chips and guacamole. Had to ask the waitress twice, asked a busser who could help us find the salt- said she would find someone but didnt. Really, really disappointed!

Best time last night. Delicioso, rico comida. Me and my date had a nice time. Our waiter was there when we needed him and the prices are okay. I did want a third taco on my plate instead of two! We will come back again. For now 5 stars!
