I dont think I could even find the words to truly have you understand the ridiculous experience the 5 of us had! The most ignorant restaurant owner I have ever encountered! And I mean that! We all agreed we can HONESTLY say, it was the worst restaurant experience of our lives to date! If you had a great experience at this restaurant, you got lucky because all the tables around us were complaining as well! Horrible service. Our dishes came out 1 by 1 and the last persons meal came out over 20 minutes after the person before him. One waiter came over and started arguing with us over a check then realized he had the wrong table, the owner was loud obnoxious IGNORANT fighting with her employees loudly which I feel is belittling to them and I definitely felt completely uncomfortable! If it was so packed in Salem wed have walled out but there really was nowhere else to go. Then we asked for the check 7 or 8 times....NO LIE and finally we had to go to the register to complain to get it... and they had the nerve to seem annoyed with us! On top of that, because we were stuck in tgere so long we missed our tour! I wouldnt give them another penny of my money if my right arm depended on it! Ridiculous!

Ive been going to The Thai Place for 20yrs now and it has spoiled me for other Thai restaurants which never measure up. The appetizers are out of this world fantastic -- particular favorites are Thai spring rolls and Golden bags both taste great with their pineapple dipping sauce. Or get the Thai Platter if you want to sample several appetizers; it includes the above plus tempura vegetables, chicken wings, and crispy cups. That is a bit pricey but its meant for several people. Their pad thai is delicious as is their fried rice. The flavors of their thai pan fried are very tasty as are their curries. The woman hostess/owner is very sweet and always there. At times the service is slow, usually just waiting for the bill, the food is ready pretty quickly so if you have a time constraint I might just mention it. Prices arent bad but do add up quickly as its hard to limit oneself and its always good to have leftovers.

0 stars .....times 0 stars!! This was absolutely one of the worst experiences in any restautant. We have been in the past and the rude owner (crotchety older women who yells continuously) is annoying but there is always a rushed atmosphere due to the Halloween events. Today took the cake and the last look at me and my family who come to Salem frequently. We ordered our food, and my daughter went to the restroom which was absolutely filthy, and when she returned what skitters across the blinds? Oh yes, thats right! A flipping cockroach! I discreetly inform the owner who informs me, and I quote, " oh you know them, you have them in your home!!" How appallingly rude is she? I will absolutely 100% take the time to report this place to the BOARD OF HEALTH, and anyone who goes will be warned not to go there.

Lol, had a Monday night meal heard in July 2017 with my family. The food was quite nice, especially the spring rolls, and generally the selection was decent for vegetarians. But the food aint what stuck in the mind the most. It was the entertainment - value was first class. The owner was something I have never seen in real life. She reminded me of Basil Fawlty (YouTube it if youre not English) or Dwight Schrute if he ran a Thai restaurant.... you will either find her endearing or annoying, rushing between the tables and the kitchen sometimes shouting, sometimes telling customers off, other times joking around. I personally thought she was fantastic. Would come here again.

This is one of my favorite restaurants on the Northshore of Boston. My family and I eat here regularly and enjoy all of the differing flavors on the menu. They are careful to handle my wifes gluten allergy (celiacs level of sensitivity) and accomodate our range in preference for spicy food from a half spice to 4 spices (enough to make your scalp perspire). I like everything. Try drunken chicken noodle, any of the soups and appetizers, and all of the varied curry dishes. The staff are courteous and kind. The prices and portions are very reasonable. There are really no flaws here. Enjoy...

Ordered a a tofu/vegetarian soup and was given fish broth. This wouldnt have been an issue but the waitress insisted multiple times that the broth was meatless after we talked to her about it. It was abundantly clear it was fish broth due to smell and taste. Two people tried the broth and confirmed it was fish but the restaurant denied it. We were expected to still pay for said fish broth and the food was left with us... after we mentioned multiple times that meat/fish was not an option for us. This tone-deaf approach was really trying and unpleasant. Wouldnt return if the meal was free.

My boyfriend and I went there. The woman taking our order seemed frantic she was rushing us through the ordering process. Our soups took forever and finally his was delivered. Probably 10 mins later mine was finally. Same thing happened with the entrees. Not once did anyone check on us. We ended up leaving cash on the table and leaving because they didnt come to bring our check.

My wife and I have had nothing but great experiences here! Not only is it some of the most delicious Thai food on the North Shore, but some of the most hospitable people work there. You will be taken care of when you walk in there. They are also more than happy to accommodate for food allergies (i.e gluten)

I practically lived off of this place when I was living in Salem. They are very friendly and the meals are excellent, at a very reasonable price. Contrary to some observations, the noodles ARE NOT TOO THIN. They are just right. :) Try the chicken fever, or ask for tofu fever if youre a veg-head.

The only saving grace to this meal was the Mai Tais and the friendly staff. The food was poor , especially in regards to the appetizers. The Crab Rangoon was awful and the wings were okay at best. The pad thai was decent and I liked the sauce. Just wish I had more!

Very Strong drinks, good service, comfy environment, and excellent food. Very flavorful, and good portions. I really recommend this for anyone in the area. Not too pricey, and a local family run business! I go here at least once a month, more often if I can. :D

We have been going to Thai Place for several years. From the moment you walk through the door until the time you leave, the staff is wonderful. The owners work very long hours and serve amazing food! We like to support local and thus is as local as it gets!
