Yesterday was our first visit to Rockafellas - we decided to pop in because it looked like a nice restaurant and while there was no wait, the place seemed pretty full which is always a good sign for me. Though the menu was a bit limited, they did have exactly what we were looking for - a burger for me and fish and chips for my daughter. I think there was still plenty to choose from, and even the pickiest eater would find something to their liking. The prices were reasonable, for the most part. I dont understand charging $17 for bacon Mac n cheese but its a touristy town so higher prices are to be expected, still the prices werent obscene. Both of our lunches were about $14 each. I got the Swiss Mushroom burger and let me tell you, this was the burger I had been searching for. The burger was juicy with a slightly charred crust, the mushrooms were real portobellos and not those cheesy canned things, and the brioche bun was fresh and delicious. My daughter thought that the fish and chips were some of the best shes ever had. (I took a nibble of the batter and the tartar sauce and I think shes probably right). The service was friendly, but a little slow. If we werent trying to pack in as much as possible into our day, I probably would have appreciated this more as we certainly didnt feel rushed. The server checked in with us often which seems to be a dying trend in food service, and I appreciated this very much. I would definitely recommend this restaurant if youre looking for a quality dining experience and if you have some time to sit and relax for a bit.

About 3 weeks ago me and my wife happened to stop in for lunch. The place was pretty empty; we made the third table of patrons in the restaurant. We were sat in the corner and I am not sure if the rest of the tables were as cold as ours; it felt just as cold as it had outside. Our server was a thin, dark haired guy who really couldnt care less about being there. I ordered a thick steak and my wife ordered chicken and my wife had not received the side she wanted. Our server never came back after making a very quick appearance to drop off our food then he was back to his post, standing there playing on his phone ignoring the customers.. My wifes chicken was cooked a little too well and my steak was cooked on the outside, rare on the inside as if it had been quickly pan seared (I ordered it medium well). I told the server after we had to get up to grab him for our check and he just brushed me off. I regret having tried this establishment and would advise against others going there as well.

This is the first review Ive ever written on GoogleMaps. My experience has made me this angry. I paid for a meal partially on my credit card and paid the difference and the tip in cash. Now I see my credit card was charged for the full amount of the bill. Luckily for me my credit card company can actually see the original authorization was only 1/3 the amount that was eventually charged to my card. My phone rep said its very suspicious that my tip would be 2/3 more than what my meal was! The waitress pocketed my cash. This really makes me furious. There are so many other places to eat in Salem, go somewhere else. As for the food, my meat was burnt and the waitress talked to me in a snide way. Maybe she thought I was a dumb tourist and thought she could steal my money. Im really horrified by this situation and urge everyone to always keep a record of what they charged on their credit card when they eat out (bill total plus tip).

First off sat at the bar waited five minutes for bartender, ordered the chili my quest the chowder, chowder was o.k. The chili thick and bland. Those two items took almost ten minutes to arrive, when dropping our soups and Chili the bartender had to ask what our order was....again!!!. ..we were sharing a Ruben &fries Ruben came on a small pretzel roll uncut. .asked for crispy fries limp and soggy..now we are ordering beers, so its not like we were trying to be cheap.Over priced, service sucks, staff standing around not helping one another. My suggestion dont go...you will not enjoy yourself.

Prices are not worth the dishes. I got a chicken ceasar wrap that came with fries. My husband got a burger and fries. The fries for both of us were not even a handful. Keep in mind, mine was $11 and his $13 because he wanted a slice of cheese on it. It didnt even taste good. I barely got any chicken, so I was practically eating a wrap with lettuce. The burger want seasoned either. What a waste of money. If you come to Salem, dont go there. Find something original. The booth seats are super uncomfortable too.

My wife and I tried to eat lunch here today, April 12, 2015. I say tried because after we were seated at an outdoor table, we were ignored for 15-20 minutes. The waitress served others that were seated after us, even one table right next to us. She never took a drink order, said hello, or even let us know she was busy and would be with us shortly. It was as if we were invisible. We got up and left. We wont be back. I would not recommend this establishment and am disappointed that I have to give it even 1 star.

Took 3 kids. Good selection of kid food. A little pricey for what you get for the kids, but what place isnt? Nice that the kids drinks were in a plastic cup with spill proof lid and flexible straws. Little things like that make my day with 3 kids. My steak was excellent, good and hot with a tender juciy center. A 2nd vegtable would have been nice for the price ($21) but the asparagus tips were very good. Service was excellent. Prompt and attentive to our needs. I would recommend it, esp. for a family.

Went here after a ghost tour and enjoyed the food and drink, but the music was super weird especially for a pub crawl. There were also some folks who were clearly regulars making use of the dance floor, which was fine until it appeared they were procreating. Next time, well come earlier. Do check out the screaming vault, and order that or the Lady in the Blue Dress - two cocktails based on local ghost stories!

Nothing special, the building is beautiful and has a lot of history, but the food is over priced and typical. The food was not spectacular but the service was friendly and rather quick. They do have outdoor seating during the summer but there is basically no parking in the area. Rockafellas presents themselves as a upper class eatery, they try, but they do not succeed. Save your money and try some place else.

We went here just before Halloween. As youd expect, the place was packed. We had about a twenty minute or so wait. Once seated, it took a long time to get our orders taken, to receive our food and get our check. Ill reserve final judgement when I go again. The food was good, though. We were sitting at tables not too far from the door, which they kept open. It was kind of chilly as it was October.
