My husband and I were there a little over a week ago, but we have been there numerous times. Our server was nice but new, and wasnt very familiar with the menu. I ordered the Lobster (boiled), and when it arrived, I broke it open only to find a brown and black oozing mess. I grew up on Cape Ann and have consumed many many lobsters, and this is the first time Ive seen this. I showed it to the waiter who acknowledged it looked distasteful, and he brought the plate to the chef. The manager appeared back at the table with the same plate stating it was normal, I then asked if I could have a bowl of hot water to clean the lobster meat. The manager and waiter obliged..although this thoroughly cleaned the tail, it left the lobster tasteless. The Lobster was $32 so this wasnt a cheap meal. I felt the manager was less than helpful.... Although this may be normal, Ive never seen this in all the hundreds of lobsters Ive consumed over the years. That being said, I feel the manager shouldve offered to prepare another one, as I hadnt touched that lobster at all. As an aside, I may be too used to the level of service at Opus (another Serenitee Group restaurant) where the manager and staff are well seasoned in customer service....I frequent Opus almost weekly and would expect Lat 43 (which I visit several times a year) to be of the same quality of customer service. I decided to write this review, as I see the GM reads these and hope some coaching can be done to improve customer service at Lat.

I have been coming to Latitude since it opened and the food and drink has always been outstanding. The ambiance and decor is great! However, over the last year or so, the food has been less than mediocre. The last time I went, and it will be the LAST time, I ordered something off the menu: broiled scallops with a side of grilled/sautéed vegetables. Traditional New England fare, like broiled seafood, used to be on the menu, but no longer. So, while Im a foodie and apt to try new things, like fusion cuisine which is all they have on the menu, I still appreciate traditional NE food because its so damn good. Anyway, the broiled scallops where shite, and so where the veggies :( What I was served were near raw veggies, and the seasoning was nothing special-pretty bland. The scallops were a joke. They were dry with a few bread crumbs sprinkled on top, no butter, no parsley, no seasoning, just bread crumbs. There were 4-5 scallops, and for a price of $25-$28, its TOO expensive, especially for mediocre food. All the friends and family I talked to about Latitude agree, that the taste and quality of the food, even the sushi, has gone way down hill over the last 1.5-1 year. Hope they get a new menu, ingredients, or chefs, because the place is a gem but until they do, myself and everyone I know will not be spending our money there any longer.

What here this weekend for me and my husbands anniversary. staff were all very friendly and welcoming there was a lot of people onshift so we didnt have to wait forever for our waitress the restaurant itself is really big I love the decor I love to that they had an outdoor deck with a beautiful view of the ocean our food arrived very quickly we didnt have to wait for anything Im giving only 3 stars because there wasnt a lot of options on the menu and the food really wasnt that great the portions were too small they serve lobster rolls on hot dog buns and they werent filled with a lot of meat like you would get at other restaurants and I didnt really like how my food was cooked, the food there is really expensive too they dont list the prices on the menu which should have been a red flag. I ordered salmon it was a small filet on top of a sweet potato with a lot of unseasoned greens it was $25 and my husband got the lobster on hot dog buns for almost $25... Fountain drinks were $3 each and a shot was $10. If I knew those prices and how the food was served I would have suggested that we go somewhere else our bill was crazy, and it wasnt really worth it.

We came from Boston on Mothers Day to enjoy Cape Ann and change the scenery. We looked for the best restaurants online and read about Latitude 43. The menu was appealing. We sat at the bar while we waited for the table and the bartender was charming and made a fantastic Bloody Mary! We ended up at a beautiful, oversized table at the window overlooking the harbor when Nicholas, our friendly server, introduced himself. He was awesome! We ordered Jeffs chowder which was unbelievable. One of the four people in my party is an executive at Legals, who touts their chowder as the best, but LAT43s was beyond it. We collectively ordered risotto, baked stuffed lobsters, stuffed quahogs, bouillabase, fishermans platter, beet salad and lots of drinks. The lava cake was for dessert. The fries were he best I can remember ever having! EVERYTHING WAS OUTSTANDING. There was more food than we could eat, so we brought a lot home (which we usually dont do). We all said "this place gets it right." We are demanding and critical diners, and we were ultra-pleased with LAT43. We are looking forward to our next day trip to enjoy Gloucester Harbor and LAT43! Thank you!

We had lunch on a Friday around 2pm. We had the clam appetizer (market price), large ceaser salad, and haddock and chips and asked for diet coke and ginger ale as drinks. Our first warning sign was that both drinks were completely flat and the diet coke was actually diet pepsi. We asked for some ice water as well and were given a stale tasting glass of room temperature water (no ice). The clam appetizer was $14 for about 10 clams. They were only mediocre and certainly not the best weve had during our stay here in the Boston area. The ceaser salad was bland and uninspiring although the lettuce was fresh. The fish and chips portion was incredible small (this is costing around $15, dont forget) and was also "just OK". The coleslaw as the highlight of my meal, a generous portion, fresh and tasty. I want to single out the tartar sauce. It was sweet and tasted like miracle whip mixed with relish. Not sure what it really was but it wasnt what I was expecting for such an attractive and expensive restaurant.

I enjoyed my visit here. The food was incredible. The sushi was incredibly fresh and flavorful. I had a Firecracker spicy roll, and it was amazing. I also had a half dozen fresh oysters. They were fresh and tasted wonderful. Unfortunately, they do not have a large selection of oysters (you order a single type), but the sushi more than makes up for this. They have a good selection of local beers. I enjoyed a quality IPA with my sushi. I had my daughter with me. When we asked for seating, I was unable to sit outside due to what the hostess stated was a space issues. We sat inside next to a window with a clear view of many empty tables on the deck outside with ample space for our stroller. I am not sure why I couldnt sit outside. That aside, this place is amazing and worth a stop for quality seafood, particularly the sushi.
