A very good friend of mine went to Longboards with some co-workers over this past weekend. She was drugged at this bar. She was rushed to the hospital and rohypnol was found in her system. Now, I am not going to blame this bar for what was most likely the work of a local Salem psychopath - but the way in which the staff at this bar handled the situation afterwards was extremely poor. First, my friend was found by her co-workers in what can only be described as an employee washroom in the basement of this bar. She was not breathing. Since her co-workers are certified CPR practitioners, they started resuscitating her. The staff member of the bar that was overseeing this was telling the group that "you have to get your friend out of here" and accused my friend of drinking too much, even though the girls resuscitating my friend tried to explain several times that that was not the case and that something was very wrong. An ambulance was called and luckily, my friend lived. No thanks to the staff at Longboards. 1) Train your staff on how to handle the next situation like this appropriately. When an entire group of SOBER people are telling you that there is something wrong, better to err on the side of caution. 2) Ensure there is always a member of your staff that is certified CPR trained. If my friends co-workers hadnt been trained, my friend may not have have lived to get to that ambulance.

Small restaurant with alright food, the staff was excellent and they are what made the visit worthwhile. We ordered the pretzels as appetizers, which tasted like any other soft pretzels. The hamburgers were good, cooked medium well and were moist but they were too thin! When I get a hamburger, I want the patties thick. The one item I really enjoyed was the bistro sauce that comes with your meal for the tater tots. Its main ingredient is horseradish, which I dislike but added with their ingredients tasted really good, I recommend putting it on your hamburger. I would not return as the food did not "wow" me, if I can make better then I move on.

Great little restaurant! We came here for lunch and later desert while on a trip in Salem. The lobster rolls taste great and are fairly priced, the sauce served with the tater tots gives the side dish a unique taste. The service is good and despite the cafe being small it never felt like we were crowded. The cookie for desert tastes great and is really large and the chocolate lava cake is of the usual size but is served with ice cream to go alongside the warmness of the cake and coldness of the vanilla ice cream.

Food was great, staff was less than impressed with our children being there (in the middle of the afternoon on a long weekend.) Very rude and abrupt towards us-start to finish. Very uncomfortable meal. Dont offer a childrens menu if there is an issue serving families. Server was rude to every question asked, from something on the menu to a drink choice. Unacceptable! Especially in a "tourist" type of location. If my children werent with me I wouldve asked what her problem was with serving us.

Weve been coming here for over 5 years (It was callled the Hungry Whale back then). And I have never been disappointed. The food is always absolutely fantasic and the waitstaff is always hilarious and attentive. We usually get the lobster roll (worth the $20), and were always pleasantly surprised. Ive been in the hospitality industry for almost 10 years, and this is my favourite place. I drive at least an hour and a half just to get the lobster roll.

My friend introduced me to longboards one Thursday evening and I found it was half off flatbreads I bought 2! They were amazing I got the canal and the jefferson.. Also came to find out they had a vast local craft selection and what do you know? One of my local favs out of Lynn, Bentwater brewing co. Thunderfunk all bar keeps were knowledgeable friendly and treated me like gold would highly recommend it to anyone in the Salem area

For what is on the menu its pretty awesome but know this if youve come for seafood too long boards not the place for you but family friendly pretty darn good menu and I can say this the lobster roll was amazing and the kids love their baked mac and cheese the wife loved her Burger to the point where she told me to make sure I mention the black and blue cheese burger

Very Great! I came to the restaurant as a out of towner. And ate many lobsters while in the city and other places up north. The lobster pizza here was the best ive ever eaten HIGHLY recommended it. The service was extremely inviting and the restaurant was on the water. It had great prices. HIGHLY recommend.

Ive just moved back to Salem two weeks ago was looking for a quaint restaurant with keno and this nice restaurant.walked in and was greeted by the bartenders they were really friendly and they do have keno this is just what I was looking for Im going Longboards 4 1/2 stars ....

This was a great find. We stopped in here for a beer before walking to another restaurant. We decided to stay and Im glad. The pulled pork was just the way I make it at home: dry rub in a slow cooker, and peppericini pepper on top. My wifes salad was fresh and tasty.

Their food is always fresh, their drinks cold, everyone from the cooks, servers, and bartenders are always personable, and they do provide entertainment with trivia night etc. Right on the water on Pickering Wharf with good parking, such a plus!

Awesome dog friendly restaurant with great food and cold beer! The staff was excellent and they were so welcoming. Loved the dog menu, too. Our puppy enjoyed his meal as much as we did our own.

Waited over an hour for our food. Service sucked! The workers were swearing. We didnt leave a tip and he made a scene yelling at us while we walked out. Horrible place.

Great service, yummy cocktails, good prices. Important note since Salem seems to roll up the sidewalks after 10pm - kitchen closes at 11pm bar is open until 1pm.
