I dont think Ive ever written a restaurant review online, but this was such a bizarre experience that I have to comment. The food was actually pretty good, but theres more to a dining experience than food. Im in the area on business, no customer dinners tonight, so I googled restaurants, and this one caught my eye since Thai food is a favorite and the ratings were reasonably good. I arrived around 8PM on a weekday evening. Very few cars in the parking lot, which seemed a little strange given the good reviews, but thought maybe its just a slow night. I was seated immediately and the waitress was extremely attentive. Ordered a beer and appetizer. Looked over the menu a couple minutes, then ordered dinner (remember: extremely attentive, she was right there). Everything arrived quickly. When delivering the meal, the waitress asked "do you want anything else?". "No thank you, Im OK for now." Less than five minutes later she was back. "Would you like anything else, sir?". "No thank you.", still feeling somewhat pleased with the level of attention. But then... At most, another 4-5 minutes passed. "If you want anything else, we close at 9:00". Nodded yes (eating). "9:00". Good to know that, "OK, thank you." A few (very few) minutes later: "Anything else?". "No thanks, I think Im all set with this." And then it started. I had eaten about half the plate and paused to read something on my phone. "Are you done?" "No, Im still eating, thank you." 2 minutes. She drops the check on the table. "No rush". Yeah, right. Maybe three minutes later: "Finished?" No. Repeat. And repeat. And repeat again. At least she switched up "Are you done?" with "Finished?" a couple of times just for variety. At one point I even tried to keep count of the "done?" requests, but lost track after a dozen or so times. The waitress and hostess/manager took turns at this. It was mildly entertaining at first, and then became just plain irritating. Good thing my wife wasnt with me, she would have gone ballistic. After I was nearing the end of the meal, maybe 40 minutes after entering the restaurant, I dropped my credit card in the check holder and they snatched it before it hit the table. I still took my time, only to continue being visited frequently, including a kid from the kitchen who seemed most anxious to clear the plates. I guess its irritating to have customers in the place when you want to go home early. But, if thats the case, maybe they should advertise an earlier closing time. It wasnt just me, a young couple at another table (the only others in the restaurant) got similar treatment and left just before me. The strange behavior was really unfortunate, since, as I mentioned at first, the food was reasonably good. Not the best Thai ever, but not bad. Maybe its good for take-out, if you dare. The menu showed some exotic ice cream flavors (none offered), and I probably could have used another beer if they werent in such a hurry to close. Absolutely bizarre restaurant experience. f youre in the area, try Romaines a couple miles west of this place. Went there the night before and it was the complete opposite, great food coupled with fantastic service and a welcoming atmosphere.

Used to go here often for take out and have been there with friends. They have gotten our order wrong before and we have over looked it. Recently, they got both of our take out orders wrong. When I called to say it was wrong they argued with me and said they did not get it wrong & that I ordered wrong ?!@#$ I really didnt want to get free food out of them, just wanted the food we ordered. The manager made little to no effort to correct the mistake only after a nonsensical and very rude conversation in which she implied I was an awful person for calling them. They are the most expensive Thai restaurant in the area with the worst service. Go to Chez Siam in Marlborough or a plethora of restaurants in Worcester.

I LOVE Thai food. And Yoong Tong has been a real find for me and my partner. Well drive an hour to eat there (sometimes several times a week). The ingredients are obviously straight from Chinatown. Nothing at Yoong Tong ever tastes pre-prepared or canned. Very authentic. Chefs and servers are all seem to be Thai – and knowing Thai culture, the service sometimes can seem a little relaxed to the Type-A American eye, but theyre always there when needed and sincerely apologetic if we flag them and they werent present. Oh, and theyre owned by a Thai family thats always on-premises – a sure sign of caring. They prepare great Sushi too.

We went there yesterday. We waited 10-15 minutes just to get a glass of water. The place where we sat was full of mosquitos. My kids are still itching. The price is very high too. The portions of the food were not big enough for the price charged. Even though the food was supposed to be "Very Hot and Spicy" it was very bland. I didnt really taste some of the food. But I did like the "Yoong Tong Fresh Rolls" and their plate decoration is very nice.

Fresh Thai favorites at reasonable prices; clean and pleasant dinging room w/ attentive staff. In the 10+ years of coming here Ive never tried the sushi but I have no reason to believe it wouldnt be just fine. My favorites are the Tom Yum soup and the lemongrass curry. Make sure to tell them how spicy you would like your food to be. In this area, they dont pull punches; spicy means SPICY.

Let me say the food is good I had chicken pad Thai, However the price for the portion size is way off $10 for lunch it was served on a appetizer size plate, Service was poor and I was not happy to know that they automatically add18% gratuity for parties of 4 or more who does that nobody! Even with the food as tasty as it was I will not be returning nor will my 6 coworkers.

Very good Thai food, and pretty good Sushi if you have adequate time to wait for it. If you have people in your party who like both Thai and/or Sushi, this is a great place to satisfy them both. Most of their evening business seems to be take-out, which is a good sign, though they do have sit-down table service also. Good ice cream available (seasonally) across the street.

If you like good Thai food and are a minimalist, this place is for you. I ordered takeout for 2 soups and an order of chicken pad thai. The bill was over $25. Soup had the right spices but watered down with minimal meat. Pad thai was about $13 but half the size of most other takeout places and 30% more expensive. Also minimal chicken and haevy on the sprouts.

Dynamite. Finally weve found real Thai food. We lived in Chicago for many years and were spoiled rotten with so many great Thai options. Wed just about given up when we rolled into Yoong Tong last night. The dishes were everything Ive been missing. Flavorful, fresh ingredients. Service was very good on a slow night. We will be returning many times, Im sure..
