You should go to Thyme if you havent been. Their food is excellent and I was quite surprised and impressed. Their miso soup was great and their pork gyoza are amongst the best Ive ever had. I cant remember the name of the sushi roll I ordered but that was excellent as well. The dishes had very appealing presentation. I think they are working harder than the competition with special food so I hope you go and support them. It would be sad if they didnt make it. For my criticisms below, they have tremendous potential to fix them and be superb. Food is the most important factor for me when I go out but I have to admit it wasnt the most pleasant experience in other respects. Service: The waitress was extremely attentive but she didnt know the menu which was hard considering it was our first time there and needed someone to show us the way. She made up for it in attentiveness and to be honest, she was probably new which makes sense considering how new the restaurant is. Decor/Ambiance: The restaurant is large and modern but the decor is confusing. It shifts between Japanese characters and that tacky "Italy" / "wine" art that you find at Marshalls. The music was blaring like in an empty nightclub and it was mostly Asian pop. The guy in the song we heard definitely just discovered autotune and was making us all suffer through it. I think if they turned down the music and had more appropriate decor, they could have a really special restaurant over there. They definitely scored points with the fish tanks!

I went with a couple of work colleagues for lunch on a Tuesday and we enjoyed the hibachi option. We arrived around 12:30 on a Tuesday and the place was practically empty; we were the only ones in the hibachi room. I got the scallops & fried rice option (my colleagues got the shrimp and the shrimp/steak combo respectively). We all chose the soup option as a starter (rather than the salad), and since it was a rainy day, this was a very satisfying appetizer. All three of us opted for the fried rice rather than the noodles to go with our selected protein. The chef was proficient and did quite a good job with the food, but was not perhaps as engaged as in my previous hibachi experiences (although I have never gone for lunch before). I have perhaps an unusually large appetite, so the portion was a little on the small/medium size, but this may also have been because it was lunch and not a dinner sized serving. I would consider going back for dinner with a larger group; I imagine the dinner hibachi experience is a little more elaborate of a performance, and the food was definitely tasty. Nothing guarantees the freshness of your meal like seeing it cooked right in front of you. They apparently also do a range of sushi dishes, but I have yet to try any of them.

I have been going here for the past 4 years and NEVER have had a disappointing dish. Take out is timely (15 min 99% of the time), and just as good as a sit down dinner. This is an excellent place for a quick lunch, meeting for work, fine dining and hibachi. I have never been let down and have quite literally eaten everything on the menu atleast twice. Highly recommend any of the Maki Combinations, Nagayaki Udon (spelling based off memory), Soft Shell Crab, all hand rolls and sushi. Its a gem of North Andover.

Overall, its one of my favorite places to dine out with my wife on "date night." The food is both well-prepared and delicious and I find it to be the best option for Japanese / Asian food in the area. Plus, the staff is very friendly and quick to cater to your need. They do offer a hibachi option for those who want the entertainment of watching their meal prepared in front of them.

Nothing like feeling gawked at and rushed while trying to enjoy your dinner! Server even came to us and asked us how much longer we were going to be when we still had sushi, edamame and a brand new glass of wine and if we wanted to move. Like really?! Never again! Service and customer care is everything to me! You guys failed!

The food all looked good , the service just ok .. they arent friendly but do the job . The roll we ordered has shrimp tempura,it tasted like rocks . Hard ..I bet it fried at least 2 days ago . The chicken yaki soba ,chicken was really old .
