Certainly the best restaurant in Newton and one of the best in Boston area. It is rather pricey, so do expect to spend quite a bit especially if you are getting their creative and special drinks. For those that love bitters, they have over 60 different kinds and their bartenders are extremely knowledgeable. A reservation is a must if you are going on the weekend. The food was, as expected, top notch. They have a special board that changes every few weeks so keep an eye out. A few weeks ago they had a meat board which had a ton of different options from beef to wild boar. When I went they had a "simple" roast chicken that was perfectly cooked and served with delicious potatoes. They also had an appetizer of tortelloni that was perfectly done. The best dish, however, was their lamb leg which fell off the bone and has a full flavor without any gamey flavor. I still dream about that dish. Keep in mind, their menu changes often with whatever is fresh and local, so do not be surprised if you go in with a different menu than posted online. Everything is delicious so you wont be disappointed!

Had a delightful dinner at Sycamore last night. The service was excellent; waitstaff is knowledgeable and there when you need them -- just the right amount of attentiveness. Nice pace for the meal, too; courses arrived with a little time in between, but not too much. We started with the oysters, which were fresh and sweet. Then we shared the meat board, which was a combo of petite filets, a Reuben sandwich with house-made sauerkraut, a house-smoked kielbasa with mustard spaetzle, and marrow with oxtail. All items were so good and cooked to perfection. Ive never had kielbasa so moist and flavorful. For dessert we had the apple crostata and beignets, both of which were excellent. Sycamore is definitely on my list of restaurants to re-visit.

We were amazed with our dinner at Sycamore! Every dish was well though. Even the simplest things - such as the warm sugared beignets - were amazing. If I had to choose one thing you should not miss, I would say the foie gras & duck liver brûlée with kumquat marmalade & brioche - this was undoubtedly the star of our dinner! Be quick though: their menu changes rapidly and you dont want to miss this treat. I would surely got back for more. :)

Fantastic small restaurant with a constantly changing menu. The bar program is also very well designed and diverse, as are their wine and beer selections. Its no surprise this is one of the most loved restaurants in the greater Boston area, and the fantastic staff make it all the more appealing.

Great Drinks, Great Food I ordered lots of appetizers and an entree to share between two people. It was very filling. The appetizer sizes, as expected, are very small. The drinks are creative and they are not shy with the liquor. Definitely recommend trying.
