Ordered fishermans platter. The menu listed this to include: fish, shrimp, calamati, whole belly clams and scallops. When we finally got our food (with our drinks being empty for sometime now) my boyfriend asked for his drink at that time. I realized no salt and pepper were at our table either so when that was finally received I noticed my plate didnt have any fish or calamari so I double checked with my waitress, thinking I maybe ordered wrong. She tells me "theres fish and calamari in there somewhere". Puzzled and sifting though my plate, she says Ill double check with the cook. After being avoided and passed by another 5 min. I finally get her attention and she tells me the cook said "not only were they included in my dish but, my batch had also got extra"!!! At this point I sarcastically laughed and she asked if Id like some made on the side, I said no of course. When finished she walks out with a side of calamari only and places it near me. Not big on calamari anyway, I ate 2 pieces but still never received a fish nugget. Lol. I was appalled with my plate right in front of her she had the audacity to tell me "its in there" just know this: your service was terrible. Been there in the past but only for the bar. Maybe you should consider limiting your menu? Sorry cant come up with a better excuse for you. BAD EXPERIENCE #BARRESCUENEEDEDHERE

So I decided to give this place a try after visiting Newport a few times a year. I sure hope the manager reads this. (Visit date: 5/10/15) We were greeted by a young female host who told us we could be seated soon however our waitress is running a little behind and it might take a "few minutes" for her to get to our table. After sitting for 25m, we were finally greeted by our waitress. After placing our orders for drinks and lunch, it took another 20m just to get our drinks and another 40m just to get our clam chowder soups. It was clear that the restaurant was short handed that day. What I dont understand is why were they seating customers when they couldnt serve them on time? Our food when it finally arrived was very good but the service was absolutely horrible. I probably would not return again. We spent well over $140 and left unsatisfied.

I went here to watch a football game since they had 3 tvs and seemed like a sports atmosphere. Of course the bartender who happened to be the owner of the establishment cut me off on my request to switch to the game I wanted to watch to watch the pats game on all the tvs I wouldnt of felt so upset if the owner didnt treat me like trash. When I asked before I could even finish he told me absolutely not. I would never expect a manager let alone owner to treat a customer this way. Dont go here food took forever and of course ownership obviously doesnt care about the customer experience. Horrible experience and ruined my night. DO NOT GO HERE the last thing they care about is how you feel.

Fun bar with live music. Bar is L shaped along the first lower floor and is difficult to get 1 of the 2 bartenders working to get a drink quickly, but the place was packed on a Friday night with music lovers and dancing queens. The place is suitable for most 21+ with a bit of a edge to the late 20s. Being in my 30s I felt slightly out of place but the music catered to all generations from late 70s to current pop hits. Beers were about $5 for bottles which didnt feel overpriced. Didnt get a chance to eat as I came late night but it was nice to not have to pay a cover at the door.

Beware of this place. I went with my girlfriend tonight and a very strange bartender was all over us and we honestly believed he spiked our drinks with some type of mouth/numbing agent we both had a very strange feeling the man was constantly checking on us and he wasnt even our waiter. We became very nervous and couldnt even finish our meals and dont have any idea what really happened but we both left feeling very strange. Use caution everybody else but this strange waiter with tattoos and light skin was good to us it was just a strange night.

I very much enjoy going to Newport when the weather is nice, but bad service is such a buzz kill. The waitress was clearly overwhelmed, but thats not an excuse to be rude. I honestly dont know how she makes any money there. It wouldve been nice to order my meal without receiving the look of death for asking a simple question about the strawberry sriracha chicken. The food overall is actually pretty decent, but the dining experience made me regret walking away from The Red Parrots 45 minute wait.

Short drive up the street ATLANTIC GRILLE, Aquidneck Ave. much much better atmosphere and service. I wouldnt even give one star if I didnt have to. One thing after the next with this place. Dirty water glasses then the daquari comes out with hairs in it. White girl comes in with black guy people trying to be funny, first and last time here for sure. Guess they dont know what money looks like lol Terrible service I wouldnt recommend to anyone trying to enjoy themselves.

Bouncer took my real license.He insisted it was the fakest hes ever seen. I am out of state on an internship, and he proceeded to call me a c***. I called the none emergency number for the police so they would come & verify my ID. I received it back when it was proven I was 21 but he would not let me into the bar. This is horrible customer service especially when a bouncer is using such horrific language. Go to a different bar.

Did not make it into the front door, bar bouncer wouldnt let my friend in. Accused him of being under 21 when he was 28 and took his ID and kicked him out telling him too call the police too get his ID back. We waited 15 minutes for police officers too show up,killing our night. The owner came out with the bouncer didnt say one word too us patted the officer on the back asking how his night was by first name

The story I heard sounds like a legend. A few of the greatest bartenders Newport has ever seen bought a bar. The rest is Speakeasy! If you dont feel welcomed and somehow dont have a good time....its you. Youre not a fun person and should probably find a boring bar to drink in. The wait staff, bouncers, and greeters are very professional. They do their jobs well to make sure everyone has an excellent time.

I got kicked out for being black. No joke. Three white guys saw me and said they didnt like me being there so the bouncer called the cops on me. I recorded most of this. When I first got kicked out they said I was being verbally aggressive. Later the manager told me and a police officer that I was following women into the bathroom. Never going there again.

I was at this bar on vacation and saw the doorman yell at a service member who who just wanted to use the rest room after being there for 2 hours. The door man said" I dont care about who you are you can wait ". Even after I intervened he wouldnt let he poor guy guy in. This bar pretends to love the USA but its just a show.
