The place looks good inside, the belly dancing is quite fun, the music is good too. Thats where the good ends. We had a reservation on Sat night, and when we showed up we got news that we MUST order banquet menu (39.95 per person NOT including drinks), though we wanted to order "a la carte", but were not allowed too. That is very strange even for an ethnic place, as say Russian places around Boston allow one to order whatever way you want at any day/time, banquet or not. The appetizers were minimal, the food consisted of one medium skewer of BBQ meat (or fish), a bit of rice and veggies. Dessert was 1 small piece of chocolate cake and 1 small Middle Eastern pastry, 1 coffee or tea per person. Overall, while nobody was VERY hungry after all, it was NOT enough even for an average-eating adult, yet the pricing for the banquet is very high for this little food. The food was OK but nothing special at all, the same setup would cost about $15 total at any regular small restaurant. And drinks - the cheapest wine they sell is $35 / bottle, yet the same wine sells for no more than $8.99 at any liquor store. The bottom line: very, very overpriced for the quality/amount of food one gets, service ranges between sloppy and average, belly dancing is fun but lasts maybe 10-15 mins only. Skip this place in favor of some good Middle Eastern restaurant elsewhere. BTW, the owners are Lebanese Armenians, so the food is not really Armenian but Lebanese (my relatives are from Armenia and they pointed it out).

This was by far the worst night out Ive had in my entire life. This place is way too loud, the food is ridiculously overpriced (and mediocre), and on top of it the service is completely non-existent. The also charged a huge cover without any notice coming into the place or before you are seated. For a cover that much, they really need to post it instead of just sticking it on the bill at the end of the night. Awful, awful, awful.

On multiple occasions weve been ripped off when came with a larger group of people (15+). They charge regular prices, but serve very little food. People leave hungry. And just as an example, for $25 you get a chicken kabob plate with one skewer on a bed of rice?! Way overpriced. They might actually serve more if you come in a small party of 4 or so.. Entertainment is usually good there. I wont be back there though.

The owner herself was our server and couldnt have been more helpful and delightful. The food was fabulous and subtly flavored. When the owner realized that we were celebrating both of our birthdays, she brought us two delicious desserts each(!) and brought them to the table with lit candles singing Happy Birthday. A great experience. Highly recommended!

Karouns is a lot of fun. Especially on weekend evenings when they have the belly dancers. The dancers are very family friendly and lots of people go for events like birthday parties and just to enjoy. But the food is only pretty good. Not really exceptional. And that brings it down to 4 stars instead of 5 stars. But still Id really recommend it.

This was my first time as part of a party of 20, and overall, a so-so experience. The positives were good food and atmosphere, especially the belly dancing. Negatives: Too expensive for the type of food served. The wait staff was not the friendliest and the mens bathroom was poorly lit and not in good shape overall. No repeat visit for me.

We were here for a family dinner and it was great. The lamb kebab was to die for. Portions are big, and this place draws in a crowd. There were many people dancing throughout the night and the bellydancer was amazing. She danced with a tray of candles and swords. Great place overall, would highly recommend.

Great atmosphere with belly dancing and music. A little pricey, but the food is good and the owners are very thoughtful and nice. Despite not ordering dessert we were both given given a free small plate with of some of their delicious baklava on the house.

Great laid back atmosphere with good food. Wife just gave me surprise birthday party here. Family operated and very friendly and accommodating. Belly dancing show fun for young and old. Highly recommend for date night or family night out.

Ate there twice recently. Food was good. Friendly service. We have tried the lamb kabob, shrimp kabob, grilled stuffed eggplant (both meat & vegetarian). Instead of rice, they let us switch to salad. The dressing is excellent.

My family loves this place. We have always experienced gracious staff, and great food. We live on Long Island and when visiting our child attending a local college, we always enjoy eating here. Highly recommend.

Go while you still can! The place is closing soon as the owner reaches retirement age. Be sure to check out the belly dancing!

Never have I met such a rude matred. We asked to add one person to our party of 14 and were lambasted for doing so.
