Went here with my husband and a other couple...Awful experience. We had a short ten minutes wait which was so big deal. As we were being seated and taking off our jackets our waitress came to our table asking if we were ready to order...we hadnt eveb sat down yet. After taking our order she had to come back to go over it again. When the food came, she didnt bring us what we ordered and what she did bring was cold. We could tell she was new and very confused so we decided not to say anything when a few of our tapas weren't what we ordered. When the check came my husband asked to put half on his card and the other couple we were with paid half in cash. The waitress said ok but a few minutes later the hostess is at our table asking us if we were going to leave a tip because the waitress didn't understand our request to split the check and she thought we weren't tipping her. I have NEVER been asked how much or if I plan to tip at any dinning experience I have had. Rude service. This place needs a manager to check up on there staff.

I usually have a great meal and the service is usually good. However to day it took 50 minutes to get my entree. The service was absolutely horrible. The waitresses were running around like chickens without their heads. I spoke to the "manager" and she did not express much interest. She did apologize but then she turned it around and said I should have said something earlier. I should not have wait till I am leaving to let her know! Obviously I was not speaking to an experienced manager who values customers and their experience. I drove all the way from Boston to have a nice meal and had a horrible experience with the manager being nonchalant. This manager lacks customer service skills and lacks time management skills. She needs to get some serious training in management and learn what it takes to run a restaurant. Most important she needs to learn to keep the customers happy and the golden rule "the customer is always right"!

We found Azorean through Trip Advisor and was not disappointed. We had the Haddock Supreme (haddock, lobster, breading, and sauce, served w/ rice & fresh green beans)) and it most certainly was. We had reservations, arriving 10 mins earlier. We were seated immediately and had fast, friendly, and courteous service from everyone. The only reason for the 4 stars was a few small lobster shells in one of the servings. A minor thing, really, but it is what it is...a near perfect dining experience. Haley was an excellent representative for Azorean as a friendly and delicious place to eat. Perfect atmosphere for our 11th anniversary.

Very good food but oppressively loud. Two of the last three times weve been there a group has been so loud that even half way across the restaurant it was impossible to have a conversation. I want to stress that this isnt normal restaurant loud, this is a group of drunk people shouting and carrying on. The tile design, while looking nice, serves to amplify the problem. Management doesnt seem to care about the noise. We love the food, but we wont be going back.

Never again. Second time , worse than the first! 12 of us came together. Sat at two separate tables. 2 separate waitresses. Table 1 was done eating their entire meal when our salads arrived. Not a minute later, the dinner arrived. Some got drinks, others not. I could go on and on. I had a fishermans platter. There was no batter on the shrimp or the scallops, and seemed to be deep fried in old grease! They were dark brown. Sorry, I just cant! Gross! Never again.

After 5 years away, I decided to to bring my step father and my husband to lunch, I said so many good things about this place that they decided to go. But I got embarrassed with the quality, I ordered stuffed lobster and that was over cooked at the point that the meat inside the legs was dry, the stuffed top salty, mashed potatoes to many black salt and black peppers, the octopus was salty and soggy.

JUST GO THERE! ...Was looking for a Portuguese restaurant I could take my family to while in Gloucester and found this Diamond online. My parents were from the Azores and I wanted to take my family to a real Azorean restaurant, have never been so excited and pleasantly surprised by a restaurant...ever! Huge portions, beautiful restaurant, a must visit!

We just returned from Portugal four weeks ago and were so very happy to find the Azorean Restaurant. The food is authentic and the service is excellent. The prices cant be beat and I was so pleased to find that the house wine was Portuguese!! Thank you for such a wonderful dining experience in this country!

Great seafood, reasonable prices, friendly staff. If you like Portuguese food, this is a great value. Try the tower of tapas - make your own selections. One order is perfect for two people, I would have given five stars, but they no longer have local beer from the Cape Ann Brewery on draft - thats a shame.

Amazing, Delicious food. Place is very clean, neat and tidy. Staff very friendly, waitress very attentive. We drove 2 1/2 hours. Well worth it. Special shout out to my fabulous husban for driving there to celebrate my 53rd Birthday... prices good too. We had a great time, thank you all so much.

I truly enjoyed this place - in a city full of pay-to-park, this restaurant has free parking. Good large inside seating, mostly booths from what I could see. Food was unique and deliciously cooked. Meat and potatoes are well seasoned, veggies were not seasoned but well cooked and flavorful.

Bar and restaurant with an Azores/Portugal theme. Like the islands it is named after, the food is simple and traditional, featuring aromatic paellas and similar seafood stews along with typical North Shore fish and seafood presentations. A short but serviceable wine list.

This place was great. The food was amazing. I thought the Ritz cracker crust was a little sweet but thats just me being picky. I took off one star because our waitress was super hard to flag down and often left us sitting but the place is great and so is the food.

Just got home from a 84th Birthday dinner for my Mom, we had a party of 24 people from age 1-84, everyone loved it. The service and the door was excellent. Looking forward to celebrating her 85th at the Azorean next year!

Friendly service and very good food. They were very busy at dinner time so be sure to make a reservation. There is additional parking in the lot across the street to the rear.
