As French, my main discover in the US is the Mac&Cheese. So, Im currently making a list of the "Best Mac&Cheese" in MA. Thus, each time I go to a restaurant, I taste the Mac&Cheese. At Deluxe Depot Dinner, I did not appreciate the Mac&Cheese that much even though Ive been told by the waitress that their was "excellent". It was good but "too regular" (ok, a Mac&Cheese is something regular but some restaurants AMAZED me with the taste they give to their). The appetizer we ordered and the lemonade was e-x-c-e-l-l-e-n-t. Still, I put 5 stars for the quality of food (of course, I ate in my fiancés plate), service, ambiance and décoration. Deluxe Depot Dinner is one of the most charming restaurant Ive been. The way I discovered Deluxe Depot Dinner is strangely poetic as well. It was about 7pm during a rainy day, I was with my fiancé and his friend. As his friend was located in Framingham at that time, we gave him a ride from Boston and instead of going straight back to his home, he invited us for dinner. As he didnt know the area, we searched the nearest one on Google Map. That was Deluxe Depot Dinner. So, it was raining, none of us got an umbrella. We were walking fast to find a shelter (especially me). I was passing next to a train station with an old architecture when my fiancé called me and told me "its here". He was pointing me the train station. I thought "what?" but you know, I was desperately looking for a shelter so I just went in with them. Once inside, I understood: the restaurant is established in an old train station. The name ("Depot") plus the decoration: OMG. Revelation. Then, I definitely enjoyed the ambiance and the waitress (Carla) was really welcoming. To know my review of the rest, just go back to the beginning of this text ;) Definitely a good spot.

Been really, really, really wanting to like this place and give it a good review as its newly opened and not too far from home. If there were half stars Id probably go with 2.5. They spent a lot of money on the renovating the place, and it definitely looks really cool. Love the atmosphere. Weve been there at least 5 or 6 times since they opened, usually on Saturday nights and its been getting worse rather than better. Service was so bad last time that we ended up walking out after 10+ minutes of sitting and being ignored. We probably wont be going back unless or until weve learned that theyve gotten their act together. Overall the food has been okay. I really liked the butternut squash salad that they have as a special, as well as the baked eggs with chorizo special. Wasnt thrilled with an omelette I got when they first opened which barely had any fillings in it, and the eggs benedict florentine I got was good, but I was surprised that the english muffin was just lightly grilled rather than toasted, and therefore doughy. My adult son had a burger that he really liked, and it looked good. I had a veggie bean burger once, which tasted good but was super thin/small so not so great. My adult daughter always enjoys the various egg and pancake dishes. Also some meals seem a bit overpriced for what you get. The main problem seems that they just cant get any good help. We did sit at the bar one weeknight and the bartenders were great. Service was very good there, but even still, the cooks did mess up one of the orders.

My wife and I eat at the Deluxe Town Diner in Watertown one-two times a month, so we had high expectations when we had a late lunch at the newest branch, the Deluxe Depot Diner in Framingham. We were not disappointed. The home-made chicken noodle soup and the tomato basil soup-of-the-day might have come out of the Watertown soup tureen, as they were both delicious and satisfying. Our entrees, a large chopped Caesar salad for my wife and a huge (I had to share it with my wife), perfectly fried fish filet on ciabatta bread with lettuce, tomato, and accompanying tartar sauce (cole slaw and pickle on the side; french fries are extra) did not disappoint. We each ordered tea off the tea menu--unique to The Deluxe Diners--which went down well on a cold day. The building housing The Deluxe Depot Diner, designed by Henry Hobson Richardson, is on the National Register of Historic Landmarks. The interior ceiling is magnificent, as are the floors and furnishings, reminding one of the grandeur associated with much larger train stations. Perhaps because the restaurant was quite busy on a Sunday afternoon, the wait staff seemed to be moving a bit more slowly than the servers in Watertown, but I think its just part of the shakedown factor common to new restaurants everywhere. We plan to return often, since we are Mtetrowest residents. As much as we love the Watertown branch, the Deluxe Depot Diner in Framingham is much closer.

Ordered a To go order...eggs toast French toast coffee..etc... 1. Dead fly in coffee 2. In bag gave equal for coffee....how many ppl do you know use equal?! And no creamers 3. Gave yellow mustard but no syrup for French toast? 4. When placing order it seemed the girl didnt even know the menu, kept asking me if I wanted items that came with my breakfast....which is why I ordered that exact breakfast because I wanted what it came with. 5. When I went to pickup I had to hunt down someone to pay for my order. Theres no visibility from the back of house to main entrance, so they cant see when ppl come in 6. Everything I had to ask for The side hostess station (that has a fridge and storage and regiater) wasnt stocked so she had to keep walking all the way to the other end of the resturant...4 times 7. The register had no change so she couldnt give me back my change And this is all before Ive even tried my food...

Over an hour, left hungry & thirsty. Was barked at across tables to place an order and barely got to order ANY food. "Server was constantly walking away from our table, many folks whom sat down after us were able to leave before us. Only managed to get an appetizer and one drink in the hour I sat two feet from the bar. Finished my food in 5 minutes but waited over 20 minutes to order something else to drink. Second drink arrived with floating trash and another 15 minutes later the "server" congratulated herself for not charging me. The only attention the table received from the "server" was her loudly apologizing for her total failure and then she began whispering about me to other members of the table as I instead of speaking to her was getting cash out of my wallet so we could leave.

Honestly one of the worst dining experiences Ive ever had. Our waiter failed to introduce himself, or even check on us. Not to mention the fact that instead of politely telling us what wasnt available he was rude when we asked for one of the meals. He also seemed to be more concerned with socializing with the rest of the wait staff than doing his job. Lastly we had only ordered 4 pancakes, 2 eggs, bacon, and a muffin and were forced to wait more than a half an hour while watching people who had come in after us get served their food. We ended up not getting served our food at all as we left money for the drinks that were brought to us and walked out. We will not be returning nor will we be recommending this place to anyone.
