True North is a warm, friendly, laid-back place that offers a variety of house-made baked goods, sandwiches, and espresso drinks. I was on the hunt for a latte, anything that wasnt Dunkin Donuts. A true quest in the North Shore. I ordered a medium-sized whole milk latte and had the nice option of having it in a paper cup or to enjoy it in a mug and sit and stay a while. The medium was enormous. The espresso was over extracted but had promising notes. The milk was over heated making the drink too warm and allowing the usual carmelizing effect of the milk to be lost. Not a hint of latte art to be had. However, the cafe is using a professional espresso machine and what appears to be high-quality beans. Given the proper instructions and practice, the coffee jock could turn into a true barista and those beans would reveal their true flavors. While there, we sampled some house made muffins, lemon poppy seed and cranberry, both were fresh and moist. The cafe has a true local feel with a steady stream of people coming in and sitting and staying to catch up with friends. In an area of the country known for rough and rush (I know I grew up there) this was a nice change of pace. Ill stop in on my next visit to Burlington but perhaps opt for some tea and a fresh scone and continue my latte quest in a different cafe.

True North doesnt know its products and caused my son a dangerous allergic reaction! I have one day a week off and my 18 month old son and I decided to check out the local coffee shop. I stated up front that my son had an egg allergy and asked if there were any products that didnt have eggs. One of the staff said that the lemon bars were ok, so I made the mistake of trusting them and ordered one. While everyone was super nice, they were completely wrong about their product. My son ate less than a teaspoon of the lemon bar, threw up and got hives within minutes, and I had to give him Benadryl to curb the reaction. I found out from my pediatrician that I should have called 911 and given him an epipen! Before posting this review, I did want to give the company a chance to apologize and respond to the incident. I wrote the store owner/manager a letter explaining what had happened and urging them to train their employees more thoroughly on their products to avoid serious situations like my son. I have received no response. The lemon bar was tasty (to me) and the service was friendly despite being unaware of product ingredients or seriousness of allergies. Please do not go here if you have an allergy, they do not know their products!!

Ive been looking for a while for an independent coffee shop around the Burlington area. I was willing to settle for coffee of Starbucks (which is a bit burnt to my taste). Stepping into the shop they have some bookshelves running on the take one leave one system as well as some board games my kids loved. The ambien is lovely (not too dark). After the first sips of the Latte Ive ordered, I understood their claim of great coffee. It was the best Latte I had in New England in years(having the opportunity to travel around the Europe and the Middle East tasting great coffee). In addition to it all, they bake their own pastries so everything is fresh (Try the True North Magic Bar - Unique). To top it off they are offering free WiFi as well as friendly staff, fast service. My understanding is that they also offer some Soups and bagels but I havent tried them yet.

A neighborhood-atmosphere hidden away in an office park. I tried the Sweet N Smokey sanwhich and iced vanilla latte. The turkey was moist, and the ingredients were fresh. The unique thing about their lattes is that they roast the flavor into the beans--no yucky chemicals or added sweeteners! Delicious food, friendly staff, and a well-lit environment; what more could you ask for?

The maple-banana whoopie pies are delicious when they have them... Im not generally the fondest of their coffee, but its very decent. The staff is usually high schoolers, so theyre pretty friendly, and I love that the owners are so supportive of the community. Great place to see friends perform acoustic sets, and Ive also been there for school events, such as poetry readings.

Speaking as someone from the area, is commonly known here that if youre not addicted to True North, youre simply not a Burlington Citizen. Great great great neighborhood place, with a really nice staff, and of course FANTASTIC Food and Drinks. The chocolate chip cookies are to die for, and the peach smoothie is simply amazing. I highly recommend going here!

Overall good place. Wish they had chargers. Phone, tablet and buddys ear piece for motorcycle were all in need of charge. More speakers at less volume would give background sound without being overbearing. Staff has personality...Starbucks, not so much. Leather chairs too! :) Starbucks...wood school chairs. :(

This has become my go-to coffee shop these days and I live a town over in Woburn. It has a good ambience, good wifi, decent pastries, and one of the best americanos I have found in the Boston area (properly made and good espresso ratio). They bring my food out to my table for me and are always super cheerful.

An independently owned coffee shop is long overdue in the Burlington Area and True North is an excellent example. An inviting hole in the wall with exceptional pastries and drinks. True North prides itself on having bakers on staff daily to make the delicious baked offerings right in house.

Delicious iced lattes, and definitely the best lemon squares in town! Love that they offer a Club Card for frequent customers, you get a free drink for every 10 you buy. Awesome service and appreciate the free wifi, too, very inviting little shop.

The coffee? Good. The food? Good. They offer free wifi and the chairs are comfortable and located close to outlets. However, the times above are incorrect. The cafe is closed on Sundays which frankly baffles me. Cafes should be open everyday.

Coffee is good here, but the breakfast sandwiches are really awesome. Also, the raw bars they offer at the register are delicious and simple. It sometimes takes a long time to get a sandwich, but its never really bad.
