My boyfriend and I went to lunch with his family at the Anchor Pub near the Beverly bridge and it was terrible. We sat and waited for 20 minutes for an unfriendly and unwelcoming waitress to take our drink order. She screwed up my order (which was simply water with lemon) and made it very evident that she was bothered when someone asked what they had available, Pepsi or Coke. We waited 15 minutes for our drinks. She buzzed away so quickly that we couldnt put in an order for appetizers. When she finally came around to take our order, she was so rude in rushing everyone that she screwed up writing down the orders and it showed. When our food finally came out, 30 minutes later, my club sandwich was soggy, the ham in my sandwich was ice cold, the bacon was burnt and my lettuce was discusting and yellow. My boyfriends hamburger was way over done, the bread was stale and she forgot the lettuce and tomato. His sisters chicken parm looked like it was out of a pre-packaged meal. The chicken was rubbery and the sauce was bland. His mothers fish sandwich was greasy and tasteless. His dads baked haddock was unseasoned and the squash was cold. This place was not busy at all so I dont think there was any excuse for this terrible experience. When the waitress finally appeared to ask how everything was, we very politely let her know that it was not good. She literally said nothing, walked away and came back with the bill, no compensation at all. I will say the pub fries and the french onion soup was great but I will never, ever eat at this place again. If I had more than 2 thumbs id put them down too.

Best French Onion Soup is served here. Also there beef short ribs are fantastic. Nice staff very accomadating have to wait for seats but worth it. One complaint....you have to ask them to wipe the table or they just put a place matt down. Also there checks are not written out clearly . Hard to figure out they scibble. Planning on getting the tuna steak hope they cook it right. Fun upbeat place once you get a seat. Its seems Saturdays the menue is better offering there great fried chicken steamers and there fantastic short ribs. Ice cold draft And there onion soup is tops

You cannot beat the prices at the Anchor but you can definitely beat the service. You have to go to the Anchor knowing that you are going to get good food for a great price but you will not get the best service. Hands down the best lobster roll on the North Shore. The wait staff in the dining area is known to be a little brash, but like I said, you go there expecting it. The service at the bar is usually a lot better but it is tough to find a seat at this popular local hang out.

I went and had the worst service ever. We ordered two baked haddock dinners. Waited an hour. The waitress never came back to our table. Three people came in and got their food and finished eating, while we were waiting. I think our order got lost. Mistakes happen, but the waitress should have checked on our order. I will never go back. When I told her we were leaving, she said bye and walked away. She did not care. No apologies. We went Charlies Seafood and got fish sandwiches.

The menu is varied with bked haddock excellent fresh fish and reasonable price lobster fresh off the boat also great with fair prices. Everything is cooked for you so when busy plan to have appetizers and a drink as can take some time. Its a busy and popular place. If waiting an issue come early at its 430-5

If you love char-broiled sirloin steaks, lobster or scallops? You cant go wrong at the Anchor Pub & Grille, Great food, a very pleasant staff, and great prices. Anchor Pub & Grille gets exactly the rating that a friendly pub style restaurant with great food and prices deserves. 5++ Stars All The Way!!!

A great pub where so many different people share their commonalities. Pool, darts, great food, in abundance, for a reasonable price. A fun place to be. Come join the experience at the Anchor!

I like hanging out at the bar but the restaurant forget it. You will wait forever for your food unless you order raw or fried seafood. Find another pub.
