Yes, the food is very good, BUT the customer service is the pits. This place is definitely upscale, however, my friend and I were treated as if they were doing US a favor letting us eat there. The hostess didnt even speak - say "hello", boo or anything. The waiter just stood briefly at our table as if to say, "Yeah, come on...what do ya what, Im busy". We barely had time to tell him (Dee) what we would like before he dashed away. When he returned with our appetizer, he sat it on the table as quickly as possible, and dashed away again. This happened throughout the entire meal. He breezed by occasionally asking if we were OK but really didnt give any time for a reply. Zoom...zoom. Finally my friend had to yell toward his back to get his attention and made the comment, "You need to be a little frendlier." Dee quickly became defensive, insulted my friend and dashed away AGAIN. We asked to speak to the manager who, fortunately for Dee, was not there, neither was the owner, or so we were told. Oh, and neither was available the next day either. I felt as if this pretty much ruined our evening. Still Dee didnt care and TOLD US SO. Yes the food was good, but this place has given us ETERNAL HEARTBURN.

I got the Peking duck with Wonton soup and egg rolls. The egg rolls are very crispy and fresh. They come with two dipping sauces. The Wonton soup is very fresh as well. However, I got only two Wontons, and I would have hoped for at least 3. Wonton soup is only 4 dollars so I guess I got what I paid for. The Peking duck... WOW. The freshest Peking duck Ive ever eaten. The meat does not have that yucky old taste Ive been getting from other places. The green onions are extremely fresh and crisp. The rice pancakes are all nice and moist, not soggy or dry and crusty. The plum sauce is pleasantly sweet. You can choose between white rice and fried rice. As others have mentioned, the fried rice is bland. Despite this, this restaurant has the best Chinese food in this area, easily.

Szechuan Garden is the best in Southern Maryland and all of Maryland in my opinion. Ive been going to the restaurant every since it opened in the shopping center that was called Shoppers World back in the day. Still kept going when they moved to their new beautiful current location. The food is always amazing. I have never had a bad meal there. They now serve sushi and that is also amazing. They are the only restaurant that knows how to make spring rolls and egg rolls. Always super yummy. My sister and I go there quite frequently for lunch and all the staff are super friendly and make us feel right at home. Wont go anywhere else for Chinese food. If you are in the Waldorf area and want Chinese food, dont go anywhere else but Szechuan Garden.

When this establishment opened up years ago over by the mall , the food was excellent on the inside and as well to go. Best Chinese food I had ever had . As the years go by, to me the food is not as good any more at least the to go food . I just bought a general tos chicken from here for $15.85 and I went to just a carry out Chinese food down the street and bought a general tos chicken for 8.95 . I went home and put both on a plate and served it to a few of my neighbors as a taste test . They all choose the Chinese food down the street for the 8.95 ... PLEASE WHATEVER YOU WERE DOING YEARS AGO WITH THE HE FOOD , SWITCH BACK BECAUSE WE STOP GOING HERE BECAUSE OF THIS. WE USED TO ORDER OUT FROM HERE EVERY FRIDAY A FAMILY OF 4

This place is just ok. Ive gotten take out and the service is not very friendly. The fried rice is good. The wonton wrappers for the wonton soup are mushy by the time you get your food home (China Cafe and Golden Star uses better wrappers because their wonton noodles are never mushy). The shrimp and broccoli have a good flavor but the shrimp is way over cooked (chewy and rubbery). Again, Golden Star has perfectly cooked shrimp every time. Szechuan was closest to us today and we didnt want to drive to our usual spot, but next time well go through the trouble of traveling to get good food at better price. I just thought it was worth a try. Probably wont go back to Szechuan.

I moved to Waldorf in 2001 and this is the best Chinese food in town. Every time I have out of town guest, I take them to this place and they LOVE IT. Whenever they come to town, they always ask to go back. Ive turned so many people on to Szechuan Garden and I havent received any complaints yet. What I love the most (other than the food :)) is the people.. the owners are so nice and they remember you just like family. Since theyve moved the atmosphere and architecture is beautiful. Just as important.. the drinks are good and strong..lol...I will ALWAYS frequent this establishment! Hope you love it as much as we do!!

Well I would advise everyone not to patron this establishment for the sake of there health my wife and I where about halfway threw are meal when we noticed a couple leave a few minutes later the bus boy came to clean the table he picked up the guys napkin that he had wiped his mouth with then dipped it in his water he had drank from then wiped the table with it when we said something to a passing waiter he "LAUGHED" when are waitress return we said something to her and she said "SO" I will be call the health department to report them asap

I had the sweet and sour chicken. The chicken taste water logged and the fried rice is just that fried rice with nothing in it. I asked for shrimp fried rice but the woman said I could only get white or fried with the lunch special. I would not recommend this place and the only time I would eat here again is if all the other restaurants were closed and this place was my only choice. Oh I would however go back for the egg drop soup.

Szechuan Garden is someplace we go on occasion, but thats not because it isnt good! Both of us have to be in the mood for Chinese, and then for the sit-down kind that this establishment offers. The food is quite good in general and some of their offerings are excellent. My wife swears by their sweet and sour anything. If they offered sushi on a more consistent basis, they would be a challenge to anyone else in town.

Been going here for years; best Chinese place in the state as far as Im concerned. I always go here to celebrate my success and take my friends. The waiters know my family well by now and they are warm once you know them. The service used to be bad, but things have only gotten better. Everything stated in the other reviews is true, even moreso than you can imagine. Best Hunan style food Ive ever had.

The waitress was so nice and the place was very inviting. I was totally in love with this place and their people. However both I and wife got terribly sick within an hour of eating here and my toddler has had terrible diapers and upset stomach. I believe the 3 of us got food poisoning. We will never go back there again. I hope others have a better experience but this was so bad we will not risk it again.
