I used to love eating here when Im in town for work. The last 2 times Ive eaten here have been a mistake. Dont get me wrong, the food is great.. however,in the last 6 months theyve crammed more and more tables in. Theres literally less then a foot in between tables, Im not exaggerating. Between the tightly packed dining room and the amount of employees in the crowded, narrow hallway the restrooms practically in accessible. As Im writing this my server is literally reaching over top of my head to place chips and drinks on our table. Im hoping my sizzling hot fajitas are not placed on the table in the same way. My final point of contention is that the "out door dining area" is literally a fold out piece of fence and 4 tables completely blocking the sidewalk of this very busy shopping center. I can deal with the lack of parking and the long wait for food, but I cant stand being packed in a dining room like enchiladas in a baking pan...

This place is AWESOME! Went there on a random Sunday afternoon with a bunch of friends. They serve chips with salsa as soon as you sit down. The chips were fresh and warm and the salsa was delicious. We ordered the steak fajitas and my god, they were AMAZING. Came out hot and sizzling with warm tortillas, fresh guacamole, sour cream, pico de gallo and refried beans.. The beef was absolutely delicious, tender and juicy. They asked us how we would like it cooked, which was great. We had it cooked as "medium". The shopping center itself is pretty dead, the only other great restaurant there is Ledo. So dont judge the restaurant by the shopping center. If you are looking for authentic mexican cuisine in Silver Spring, this is definitely the spot. My california-native wife approves of this place. :)

My wife and I found this place and it is our new goto mexican spot. We used to go to el mexicano but it closed, luckily this place is just as good if not better. Recently though they have been slippin. My family and I sat on the patio and we got chips and salsa right away, then we never saw a waiter again for 20 minutes. At that point I told the people inside I was leaving. I usually go with my family on saturday mornings for the brunch because no one is there and we have an autistic child, so it is nice to sit outside and eat food when no one could get bothered by my potentially loud daughter. I always get the chorizo platter and it is awesome! Only thing I would say is they have been using way to much cheese on it recently.

I have always had a favorite Mexican place near Colesville -- now I have a new one. This is a great place with the best enchiladas I have ever had. We have used this place for carryout for a long time. Several weeks ago we decided to eat in. What fun! Loved the music -- they must have gotten the message that it was too loud, because it was a perfect level. We were able to have a good conversation with 4 of us. Love, love, loved the food. Had the slowly roasted pork that seemed to melt in the mouth. I HIGHLY recommend this place. And guess what, the servers and staff are wonderful, too.

A family favorite in my house since they opened. We dine in or carry out a few times a month and have yet to be disappointed. The staff is always friendly and the owner Julian seems to always work really hard to make sure everyone is having an enjoyable experience. The menu has evolved since they opened with great specials and brunch is phenomenal! They make unbeatable sangria and the fresh table sized guacamole is a must have! Their grilled steak is also a house favorite always tender and deliciously seasoned. Im pretty confidant that we wont ever grow tired of eating there!

We moved to the area Sept 2015 and this is hands down one of our top two favorite places to eat!! Our feedback: • Everything weve ever ordered has been amazing (tamales are moist!! Who knew?! :P) • There are flavorful vegetarian options for some of our friends (the spinach enchiladas are ridiculous!!) • The margaritas are poured with a firm hand (not all sour mix for once) • The staff are friendly and attentive • Atmosphere is simultaneously casual and vibrant but could easily be a romantic night out Overall just a total hit! Cant say enough good about it.

This place use to be good but they cant keep up with business. Went to pick up carry out for two orders one was ready and the other was not when I finally got it it was an hour while the other got cold. Called up the guy offered 20 percent off next visit. How embarrassing that they offer such a small discount for such a huge inconvenience. The second wasnt ready because they missed the order didnt make it until I got there. I have eaten there plenty of times but they have just lost a customer for life. They should of done more to take of their customer.

The food is excellent. "Central American" would be a better description than "Mex." Do not expect cheap, fast tacos and burritos; this is a fine, if somewhat informal, restaurant. The seafood soup is a treat, but will take extra time. The salads are good. Prices are moderate. My only complaint is that delivery orders have more mix-ups than you would expect, do take quite a while, and often arrive cold--but this is not fast food. I do not recommend the patio, as service seems to be much better inside.

Not sure how Pollo Mex receives a 4.2 star....from the hostess to the food was horrible. Let me begin with my drink I had order a captain Morgan with sprite and saw black particles swimming in my drink when I asked the waitress she said it was coming Friday from the fountain soda didnt ask if she could replace it with something else, not sure if she expecting me to drink it! We order beef fajitas and by the picture you can see that the meat was raw. Food had no flavor... not coming back!!!

Theft is the only word I can think of when it comes to this place. One of the workers that cleans the tables stole my phone and then laughed in my face when I asked why he took it. The manager claimed to have looked at surveillance but said he couldnt really see much. I guess that was there way of getting more of a tip from me. Im disgusted that they stole my phone but I guess they needed it more than me. Poor despicable dishonest people. Dont eat here!!!!

They should be ashamed of what they have us for takeout last night. Portions were tiny for enchiladas and my wife had to search for seafood in the casuela de m ar. Seasonings were interesting but portions and presentation were way below what you can get from one a food truck. They will never have repeat business from me. Save yourself the wasted money there is a five dollar pizza place next door. Even franchise places outclass this place.

** The food and ambiance here are great on their own, youll never go wrong with the handmade guacamole "any entree" and the flan... always the flan.. But to top off a great meal, the staff are out of this world. Always accommodating, friendly, respectful and just awesome. Our 5 month old has been going there since he 2 weeks old and the staff always stop and say hi to him! You cant beat Pollo Mexico for a local down-home relax experience.
