Ate there for the first time last night. We wanted sushi California roll that was on the menu. Waiter told us they didnt have sushi today. Wife ordered chicken teriyaki stir fry with vegetables. Chicken had a rotten taste about it like it was not fresh. I asked my wife, "you sure its chicken" as a joke. Told the waiter who tried to make excuses it all tastes that way. Said hed have to ask his manager for replacement. Came back and offered replacement for same price. Wife asked for sesame chicken but then asked if it was all white meat. They wanted $2 extra for all white meat. After bad food, they should have simply made her happy. I felt as though they are more interested in making that last dime rather than having a repeat customer. I had chicken with string beans that was pretty good. We wont be going back.

This place seems to have its share of good and not so good reviews. I have been holding off on giving this place a try given the average ratings. But we were pleasantly surprised by coming here for lunch today! The ambiance of the restaurant is midway between casual and fine dining and so are the prices. The place was about 1/4th full for a weekday lunch which I think is good given the location of the restaurant. Service was good too tho it took some time for the food to arrive. The serving sizes are good too - enough to fill you up and maybe a small snack for later. This has soon become our go to place for Chinese takeout! Food quality is consistent and they deliver :)

Great customer service I order delivery frequently from China Garden Bistro. This time I ordered an item I have not gotten from here before but that I have tried many times before at other restaurants. When I received the order I was unsatisfied with the food and called to let them know. I was able to speak to the manager and let her know why I was unsatisfied with my order. She accommodated me and replaced my order. I am so satisfied with the way she helped me out, especially since i have been a customer for years. Thank you China Garden Bistro for the excellent customer service!!

Ive been to this restaurant a few times, but only done take out. Ive never eaten in, so I cant speak to the service. As an aside, I should mention they have a $10 minimum on credit cards. Anyways, so the food is good for the most part. They do give generous portion sizes, so Ive never been disappointed with that. I have noticed, however, that they dont use many ingredients in their meals. For instance, the fried rice barely had any veggies in it. It was largely just the rice. For this, Ive docked two stars. Never ate in, so I dont think I can justify a lower or higher rating.

I absolutely adore this restaurant. The service is good, the food is great, theyve got delivery and take-out. They have vegetarian options as well as varied kinds of Asian plates. I mainly stick to trying out the ramen plates (soup) but they also have stereotypical Chinese food (spring rolls, Mongolian beef, noodles). The best part is the great way the servers treat us now that they know us well. Theyre extremely friendly and will go to lengths to get the food you ask for, unless they straight out dont have any.

Ordered at 6:20pm. Called at 7:20 asking where the order was they said its on its way. Called at 7:50 and they told me the driver was almost at our house. At 8pm we cancelled our order. At 8:12 the driver arrived and we refused to accept the food. Terrible service do not order here.

There has been a Chinese restaurant at this location since I was a teenager or longer. 30 years later, the current owners are the best so far. Food is tasty and consistent, and is in Bethesda.

Delicious! Deserves much higher than its 3.3 star rating (as of 2/11/17). Medium in cost, swift service. Try the 3 cup chicken!
