So the location is sort of in an industrial area, you would never know it was there unless someone told you. There is no where to sit down and eat . It literally looks like an old doctors office check in area with a kitchen in the back. When i pulled up there was a pot outside with something being cooked in and i was initially scared. I came here thinking it was a soulfood restaurant also. BUT NO ITS JUST BARBEQUE. Food: i ordered 6 wings with spicy barbeque sauce and mac and cheese. EVERYTHING was very hot when i got it. The wings were probably sone of the best smoked wings ive ever tasted. The mac and cheese had soo much pepper in it, it was not edible. Literally coughed with every bite. We nicknamed it " pepper mac" . So minus the overwhelming amount of pepper it has potential to be good. The menu is typical barbeque food nothing fancy. The barbeque sauce is not spicy at all and a watery consistency. They sell it by the bottle i think.. well i saw two random bottles sitting on the side between dust and business cards. I wanted sone type of seafood but they only had crab cakes. She stated they dont want to fry any foods only bake so they took fried foods off the menu. I will try this place again but they really need help in the ambiance dept.

Solid BBQ in an area thats lacking in true authentic BBQ. The smoked chicken was moist and juicy! The brisket was as Texas authentic as youre going to get in the Metro area. The must try? the "Angry Bird" (Shredded chicken and hot peppers) WOW! This is a truly unique dish that gives me cravings! If you live in or find yourself traveling to Mid-County Montgomery Co and want a taste of BBQ.. Look no further! Most definitely will be back for more!!!

I just couldnt sit back and eat more of this amazing barbecue without taking time to write another review!!! As usual I get the smoked pulled pork with my side of homemade coleslaw... Ive got to say I dont know how they do it but its even better the second time around. It turns out they just created another homemade barbecue sauce which will be in Costco and this time its tangy! As usual most definitely will be back for more! :)))

Our office has used Mackies for both a small office lunch (under 7) and a larger catered lunch for 20 people. We have been nothing short of impressed. The smoked chicken and pork is terrific. They dont put a lot of sauce on it, just a smear, so that you can choose the sauce you prefer. The sliced brisket is mouthwatering. We will use them over and over again.

First of all way too expensive for the quality of food that you receive!! It lacks flavor and everything. I will put it like this if you eat this BBQ then dont eat any other BBQ and you wont be disappointed but if youve eaten good BBQ like Mission BBQ prior to eating this mess then you will be highly dissatisfied!

This place is for real. Some of the best barbecue in DC region. And Mackies BBQ sauce is as good as the meat: starts with a slight vinegar taste then blossoms into sweetness. Its carry-out only but we ate it in the car and felt like we were at the best table in the city.

Could barely find the place.. BUT... amazing food. Great formula for success, no tables, no waiter, you order you food and pick it up or get it delivered and it is primo bbq. This place has nothing to show their work but the quality of their food and they nailed it.

First visit 5 stars. Returned 3 weeks later, and it was a totally different experience. No sauce for the ribs, mac & cheese melted through styrofoam container, rolls were rock hard. Very disappointing experience. Will not return.

The service was absolutely amazing, going as far as to give us a free sample of some pork as we waited for our meal. The every thing was fresh made and truly delicious. It is a little off the path, but well worth the search.

Ribs were good, brisket was okay. Sides were a little small, and the BBQ sauce was Carolina style (vinegary and runny). Overall its a decent hole in the wall place for BBQ.
