Went there for the first time on 10/16/11. I was pleased to find an African place closer to where I live in Frederick as oppose to going all the way to either DC or Baltimore. I ordered fufu with egusi soup, a meat pie and one suya kebab. I was not disappointed. The soup portion was enormous, about 3 servings, the meat pie was tasty and so was the suya, though not as authentic as the ones from the street vendors back in Nigeria. Nevertheless, my food was delicious and the price, total $18.03, was affordable. I will definitely visit again. I work in DC and the restaurant is conveniently located at the Gaithersburgs MARC train station on my commute home from work- definitely an incentive to pick up dinner on the way home.

We walked away today from that restaurant really disappointed and also shocked with the level of services, environment and food. They started with the appetizer, which we didnt order, which ended up costing $10 bucks a piece. Also the manager there added a mandatory 18% tip to our bills. And the way he talked there is no room for negotiations. The food was cold, not clean, and i got all orders an hour after i placed the orders, in between i walked back to the counter at least 3 times since they were forgetting something. Overall the experience was horrifying, and wouldnt recommend it to anyone!

If I could pick this restaurant up and take it back home with me I would. Everytime I come to Maryland I literally run back to Rainbow African Restaurant. The Peanut Butter Soup and Fufu is the best Ive ever had. I tried the collard greens and smoked turkey this time as well. Staff is fantastic and great to talk with. Even the other customers appreciate and greeted my wife and I as we came in. I love it. Cant wait to come back already. Blessings and Positive Vibes!

Scam restaurant, I tried them so many times they are still the same , it socks folks , food expensive but very bad taste, especially when you go there 7 pm , I bought banku and okro stew around 7 pm, the woman who own the place told me she is goin do mix which included fish, meat and whatever, got home and it was only a pieces of 2 fish and hard ball of so called banku...apuuu, scam restaurant

If theres a way to chose no star, I wouldve chosen. The food is horrible, this is my 4th time ordering food from this place and still the same. They dont know how to cook at all, I was hoping that it will changed or was thinking that its maybe what Ive ordered but nope the place actually sucks. Will never go there again, its a shame representing Ghanaian food like that

I ate at Rainbow last year when I visited D.C.. I sometimes drive from Atlanta just to enjoy their banku, wakye, red fried plantain with beans. Their TZ is the talk of town. Service was pleasantly nice. The cool, relaxing and the highlife music made my day anytime I visit. I will always recommend all my friends to try

First time for everything...great new friends to experience great new cuisine. Although there is nothing new under the sun, I am grateful I was taken here to celebrate my birthday. The food and service were great.
