Amazing food, atmosphere, and people. I have traveled the world and dined in many restaurants. Backfin has topped them all! The food is always amazing; Chef Bob and Chef Paul really love their work. The staff is more than friendly and every time I visit, I feel like family. When I have to leave town it will actually be hard to part with the people of Backfin from the regular customers to the 2 most amazing bartenders Ive ever had (Rob and Jess), this place sure has a way of keeping me coming back for more. I would highly recommend this place to everyone. The wait staff are all beautiful and love their work as well. Makes for a great dining experience every time.

I travel all over the world and often have the opportunity to eat at many restaurants. Some great...some not so great. Ive eaten at Backfin many, many times over the last several years and have NEVER been disappointed. The food is fabulous, the drinks are always mixed just right, and friendly staff and owners always make it a perfect meal. I recommend this restaurant to anyone celebrating an event, a casual business meal, or just a "lets go to dinner on Saturday night". Everyone Ive recommended this restaurant to has called or emailed me to let me know they appreciated the recommendation.

Fantastic food. A real gem of a place. Food is perfectly cooked and seasoned. This restaurant rivals many of the upper end, 5 star restaurants you would find in big cities. Steaks are cooked to perfection. Medium rare is a true medium rare, deep pink in the middle and pink at the edges. The blackened barramundi was seasoned perfectly with a nice kick. The fish was moist and flaky. All meals are served with a salad, vegetable and starch. Chef Bob has created a superb restaurant in Port Deposit. Cant wait to visit his new restaurant in Havre De Grace.

Upon entering, I was not impressed with the look of the forward dining area, but when I entered the bar in the back, my opinion changed. The bar area was much nicer and Rob the bartender was personable and chatty without being too obtrusive. The menu is small but had a nice variety and our two meals were amazing. Chef Bob came out and greeted us and graciously allowed for a substitution on one of our meals. The overall experience was fantastic and I highly recommend it.

My surprise birthday party was held at Backfin Blues recently on the deck. I was stunned by the excellent presentation, timely service, and delicious meal. Cost per person was without a doubt 1/2 the price of a mediocre affaire in DC, my home town. I highly recommend Backfin for your dining pleasure or a catered affair. Best restaurant between Baltimore and Philadelphia. A gem in the hinterlands of Maryland.. Worth the trip, worth the food, worth every penny.

Our family ate at Backfin Blues last night. We never heard of the restaurant before. The service was excellent and the staff made us feel very welcome. The owner/Chef came out to introduce himself too. Our group ate the Fire & Ice tuna, crab cakes, and flat iron steaks. Everything was delicious and we will definitely be back for more. It was nice to find this upscale & delicious eatery so close to home! :-)

My husband and I are fairly new to Pt .Deposit, but have enjoyed eating at many restaurants in and around Delaware and Maryland. Everything I have ever ordered at Backfin Blues has been delicious and beautifully prepared. I am known to be persnickety, but whenever I am asked "where to go for brunch or dinner", I say without hesitation, Backfin Blues. Staff is very friendly. Prices are reasonable.

Everything was fantastic from the tuna appetizer to the soup and beet salad to the crab cakes, steak, prime rib, and sides. The service was probably about the best Ive ever had, the waitress was incredibly awesome, several other employees came up to ask how were doing, and the chef came out and spent a lot of time with us and was very gracious. We plan to come here again very soon!

We tried Backfin today for the first time. We live really close by but had never stopped in. Hubby made Valentines Day reservations and we were very happy with our visit. The staff was very personable and knowledgeable. Food was delicious. Well absolutely be back again. Thanks for a great experience for our Valentines day dinner and very rare night out without the kids!

Eatin alot of places and hard to find a good crab cake with any flavor or that doesnt have slot of filler. Im kind of a food critic and am not usually overly impressed ! Ive eaten at OC , NJ , VA, PA , DE , TNN at nice restaurants but must say Ive had and enjoy my meals about as much here as any of the others !!! Great job guys !!!!!

Thus is a chef owned restaurant and he takes pride in what he does. Incredible food, he greets each table personally, and gives great recommendations. Very first visit I asked him to bring me what he thought was his best dish. And it was amazing. It was a lamb dish that wasnt even on the menu. Great chef and even better food.

I was expecting typical deep fried bar food as the name suggests, “bar and grill”. I went with the Chicken and Seafood Linguini – Wow. Chef Bob Steele can cook. The chicken and shrimp were cooked just right. It is a nice place where you talk. Can’t wait till summer comes around and get a table on the back deck.

Dinner was too delicious to stop to take photos. Caprese Salad with balsamic drizzle. Pork chop with carmelized onions, mushrooms and zucchini. Mine, Scallops florentine under puff pastry, broken potatoes and mushrooms. Excellent! Noisy, put its an old building with high ceilings (so just smile and enjoy).

What a wonderful hidden Jem. Little pricey but the food and service was well worth it. I had the crab cakes and they were big and very tastey. My date had the black sea bass. It was also very tastey. Great little town. In the spring or summer you can walk the waterfront too. Will definitely go back.

Excellent food!! All the meals are prepared just right with a wonderful amount of flavor!!! All the staff are wonderful people and the atmosphere is just great. This is by far one of my favorite restaurants! Chef Bob is great and the entire kitchen staff is very talented!

Great food, great service. Who would ever think you could find food like this in a small town. My SO and I spend birthdays and Christmas and Valentines Day at Granite & Lace and *always* have dinner at Backfin. We have never ever been disappointed.

What a pleasant atmosphere, excellent service and delicious food. The Seabass sauce was extrodinary and the dessert was one of the best if ever had. Nicole was super sweet and attentive. We sat outside on the porch. It was a wonderful evening.

This place is the best kept secret around! Chef Bobs specials are always outstanding just like his friendly personality. Try the Crab Louie its an appetizer not on the menu but they always have it. You can thank me later!
