My boyfriend and I used to love Sakura and go to the one in Olney all the time. We have tried other ones and they were not as good as the Olney location. We know the managers very well at the Olney one, and we went there probably twice a week to eat dinner. We have become good friends with the hibachi chefs and was offered a 15% discount for us, our friends and family that comes with us to eat by the manager and Moon as we are regulars. About a month went by and we havent gone because you know, life happens, and when we go there for our anniversary dinner there was a 45 min wait. We politely declined and went somewhere else. We went there this past Friday and when the check came it didnt have the discount on it like it always does. Since the server was someone new, we told her we are regulars and get a 15% discount & she could talk to moon because the new manager doesnt know us. She goes up to the new manager anyways and we see him shake his head violently "NO" like three times and throw his hands up.. then we were greeted by a woman, another server that knows us very well, that says there is new management and they wont be doing the discount for us anymore. Im very disappointed in sakura for many reasons. Not just because we dont get our discount anymore, but seriously who takes away someones discount they were given by the old manager? But because he was very rude, didnt come over to greet us & tell us himself, and has hired new rude people who dont know what they are doing. Our server brought my boyfriends beer THEN ID him. And then asked where the birthdate is on the liscence... very sad yet safe to say we will not be returning..

I can not comment on the Hibachi because I only had sushi there. I ordered a shrimp tempura roll. The shrimp tempura was in big pieces at the ends. The roll was 4 small pieces of Sushi for $7.00. The outsides of the shrimp tempura were shrimp tempura WITH POLLOCK (imitation crab) and I would say the ratio was like 1/4 cucumber, 1/4 shrimp tempura and 1/2 imitation crab with the imitation crab spilling over. Unlike most shrimp tempura the outside of the roll was just seaweed with no extra rice on top. THE WORST PART OF ALL however was that although the two ends of the roll were almost approaching real shrimp tempura the middle of the roll was a california roll with a scrap of shrimp tempura in the middle. This was ABSOLUTELY the worst sushi I ever had. If you are ever going to go for sushi DO NOT go to Sakura because they obviously do not know how to make sushi!

Food is consistent, and the kids love the experience. I like that they play with fire at the table. Always an east-Asian or pacific islander -- and, not ironically, rarely Chinese! -- the personality of the man preparing your meal has the largest effect on your visit here. Which teppanyaki "chef" you get determines whether you have a fun, entertaining & memorable experience or just an overpriced opportunity to watch your fried rice come together. I wish I could remember his name, but our favorite in the past year or 2 has been an Indonesian gentleman with a great sense of humor and skill with the spatula.

Ive been going here as long as I can remember and Love how they make the food in front of you. It is clean and the food is good. Give you free cheesecake on your birthday. The prices are a bit high however it is worth it because the food is good. The wide variety of sushi is also a nice thing to try. I would recommend it to a friend special occasions not all the time. Overall it is a great restaurant and I recommend food is good but the prices are a bit high

Wow. Just wow. This place is fantastic! I ordered the fillet mignon with chicken and shrimp. Every bite was perfectly flavored and spiced. The chefs come out and cook in front of you. They are very talented with their utensils and are stinking hilarious. The waiter was very accommodating and we were greeted as soon as we walked in. Everything was very clean. It was well worth the money.

I had the steak and shrimp combination. The food was really good, but the experience was what gives this place 5 stars! The chef William was very nice and cracked jokes without being overbearing. And the server was really patient with us (we were a large party so it took a while for everyone know what they wanted). Overall, I had a great time, and will definitely be back.

I love this place. We always go every so often. The cook we had here, the last time we went, was phenomenal. He was hilarious and caught the attention of the whole table and engaged everyone at the table. I can be kind of awkward for multiple families to sit at the same table but in out table he was the ice breaker! The food is always great, I never had a complaint here!

Im not a sushi expert nor do I try a variety... California rolls and Philly rolls. The chef made the rolls quickly. There were few patrons before I arrived for lunch but more filed in the Cali"s were good and I really enjoyed the Philly rolls that had awesome smoked flavor from the salmon! Ill be back.

The ribeye is amazing! The wait is often longer than expected and they get busy but they treat their customers right. A great experience this weekend with a party of 12. The yum yum sauce is the best of any Japanese place and again the ribeye is so delicious. Everything is good.

This is our favorite hibachi restaurant. The food is great, its worth the drive. The chefs are very entertaining and the staff are all very pleasant. The children especially love the tricks. The quality of the food is excellent. We have never had the sushi, so I cant comment.

Did a much better job with the sushi then Germantown (Germantown looks like cat food.) Ryan loved the habachi "show". Table cook was fun and entertaining. Perspective... we drive 25 minutes past Germantown to come here.

The food is good but the real reason I go here is the experience for my girls... their faces light up when the "volcano " / fire starts. Ive had better food at other similar places but overall its a good restaurant.

Extremely good food, fantastic presentation. Any time Ive gone in everyone had been extremely nice and very friendly. I would recommend this not only for dates or for two but for families and events up to 12 people.

Went for my sisters birthday. It was wonderful. The servers are friendly and they make sure that everyone is having fun, including the family seated with us who didnt speak English

My wife and I were there for only sushi (not hibachi). Rice was hard, fish did not taste fresh. Might try for hibachi as the atmosphere was nice but would not return for sushi.

Fried rice is amazing. Would come here solely for that. But their entire menu is great, and the chefs are wonderful. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a higher class meal

Great food and an amazing server that made the experience 5 stars. He was funny, and was very careful/conciencious about my sister being vegetarian and my moms allergies.
