I never write reviews but this place is just my absolute favorite. From its hometown charm to its great food and staff, The Village Cafe has been my favorite Gaithersburg bar and restaurant for over 20 years. Ive been coming there as a kid, absolutely love the owner, Mike Veksler, and wouldnt know what to do if they ever left town. The submarine sandwiches there are my favorite, especially the steak and cheese but their food offering is so ecclectic and occassionally amazing that its hard for me to say certain what i like best. One thing is for sure, the atmosphere is lively. If you want to just hang out at the bar and watch sports while enjoying what have to be the areas best chicken wings or just chill in the large airy dining room with your family, the Cafe has it all. I would not recommend this place to my worst enemy. I mean seriously the atmosphere sucked and the bartenders were extremely rude! I brought my sister whose 31st birthday we were celebrating she flew in from Louisianna with her drivers liscense. We were denied service because her ID is vertical. I had ordered and paid for my HOT glass of wine but of course I was not going to drink if she couldnt. The bartender literally threw my money at me and told me never to come back, as if I would! I gave the place one star but in all actuality it deserves none!

I can say its definitely not your five star and probably doesnt even deserve for but for the good company that I have and the really generous portions for breakfast with eggs cooked to order you cant go wrong with a hole in the wall bar that has such good wood interior and a warm feel to all the patrons. Now I can completely understand theyre being maybe having a vagrant come in a bar from time to time - - but what do you expect in a bar.

I was asked to leave for personal reasons not a regular and not in the click tobad minding my own buisness ,but i think the owner would be upset at the bartender to lose my buisniss ,i had six drinks in three hours ,i could see it was personal and i was about to order take out whick they lost that sale all and all its a bar for the regulars only

It is a nasty place with alot of DRUG ACTIVITIE....the last time I had a drink there I was beged by a lot of people to buy them drinks... A man name Odis ( drunk and smelling really bad) was begging for drinks, he was really drunk, but they kept on giving this man drinks... If you are into DRUGS THIS IS YOUR PLACE

Well they dont have mixed drinks and I believe the bartenders are are hookers all that stay in there is a bunch of men. I see the bartenders going in and out of the bathrooms taking one guy two whatever to pay the bills. Nasty.

Horrible! My boyfriend and I went there last night. I left a tip, buy he didnt have enough money to leave a tip. A bartender came out into the parking lot and told us not to ever come back because they work off tips!

This is not a 5 star resturant or even 3 stars for that matter but the food is good, the portions are huge, and the prices on beer are the best in montgomery county.
