So normally I would give this place the full five stars. But it has some very obvious problems that warrant the deduction of one star. First the good stuff, honestly this place has amazing food, for that alone it would worth a visit. The ten or so times I have been the food has been out of this world amazing, especially the all day breakfast. The pancakes are fluffy and warm, not too chewy, and much more generous in size than those of the local IHOP. The burger was so big I couldnt even finish it, and at seven dollars plus toppings you really cant beat it. I have also had the Flat Iron steak and the Chicken and Waffles and both were excellent. But lets get to the breakfast, OMG, this place has amazing breakfast food. The first time I even went I ordered the Country Chicken Sandwich which is a fried boneless chicken breast with eggs, cheese and sausage gravy. I ordered it not knowing what to expect and what I got was not only delicious, but enormous. I expected it to be a part of a chicken breast, nope, whole boneless breast. I expected it to slightly dry, nope, juicy and delicious. I expected maybe enough gravy to coat the breast, nope, the entire plate was full of gravy. I expected a little cheese, nope, lots of cheese. Im certain had I been able to finish it that my heart would immediately surrender in defeat. Now a place with food this good I would normally immediately give five stars. But not in this case, heres why. First off, the restaurant is very crowded, I know the mgmt want to maximize profit, but since the tables are so close you really get jostled around a lot, so I deducted a bit for that. Secondly, the service is not so good, they have a number of young ladies on an almost constant rotation there, so much so that you cannot get to know any of them particularly well and they are not the best waitresses around. Honestly Ive had better service at a Chik-Fil-A. Also, I mentioned being jostled around a lot, the waitresses are the ones doing most of it. Another problem is that the restaurant is just one big room with tables in the middle and one long booth down one side which tables are against, there is no partitioning or anything, you can be mere inches from diners at a different table and you can inadvertantly become very familiar with chatty patrons as you can clearly hear all conversation happening around you. If you have a bigger party you can get lucky and get seated in the window booth which is the most private an out of the way table, but good luck getting it. And the decor? Straight out of 1940. This restaurant has changed hands while I have lived in Mt. Airy and it looks like they changed nothing about the decor. So there you have it. A good place to eat, but if comfort, service, decor, and ambiance mean anything to you you might not like it so much.

I used these guys to cater our wedding 6/14/14. first i want to say how much we love eating at their resturant and have found everything we order is wonderful and we always enjoy the small town feeling that the resturant brings. Everything at our wedding was absolutely delisious! they were great even from the begining. Dan sat down with us at our tasting and discussed all the food choices we chose to try out and suggested a few things for us to try that would offer more of a variety for our guests. whenever I had a question, and there were many Staci was great at getting back to us quickly. they also supplied bartenders for us and did a great job getting our specialty drinks mixed up and passed out. During dinner both Stacy and Dan were at the buffett line and made sure every one got enough of what they wanted, answered any questions about the food and kept the silverware, lemonaide and napkins well stocked. They also did a great job of cleaning up at the end of the night, the venue was very happy with them. If you want a great place to eat in downtown mt. airy or an excellent caterer these are the guy and their prices are awsome! If you are looking for a great caterer that will take great care of you and your guests and provide an excellent catered buffet at a great price these are the guys

Ive been a fan of this place for almost 30 years. Theyve changed ownership over the years, but the cozy feel and good home cooked food remain. In particular, they make the best crab cake inlet around. Note, its easy to not feel like a "regular" here, dont take it personally, some places just have that vibe. Just go with it and act like you own it and youll be fine. Its tiny and crowded for weekend breakfast. No real space if you need to wait for a table. I would not recommend this restaurant for a party larger than 4, add the majority of seating is for couples. Oh, and did I mention, they still make real milkshakes? Good food, good prices.

Okay, so Ive only been in here once, and it was off-peak (late lunch), but it was a good meal. Its nice they serve breakfast all day, and their burgers werent bad, either. The giant English muffin they make is pretty big and tastes okay, but its not exactly the best of its type Ive experienced. The room isnt all that big, so I could see the wait getting longish during prime meal time. Worth a visit if youre looking for an informal bite.

My wife and I eat here for breakfast all the time. Easily the best breakfast in the area and the prices are extremely reasonable. Some of my favorite items are the regular french toast, the fried steak that comes with the b-shift platter, and the sausage gravy. Im not sure what the other reviewers are talking about regarding service, weve never had a bad experience there and have been many, many times.

Excellent breakfast, good prices. This is our favorite breakfast in Frederick. Place is small and crowded, no ambience to speak of, not good for a business meal or date. It is perfect for casual meals with family or friends. Bakery has amazing pastries. My stand-out on the menu is the fried potatoes. I rarely like breakfast potatoes, but the ones here are my absolute favorite.

We stopped here on a one-day road trip to the area on the Historic National Road. The brunch was exactly what I was looking for and the pricing was good, but the wait was REALLY long. I think we waited 35 minutes for brunch for the two of us. The kitchen is exceptionally small for the size of the restaurant. If it wasnt so busy this place would be perfect.

The waitress seemed distant and when we ordered, we got thee soups but only one came with a plate. The bread in the french onion soup was burnt and when they ran out of sweet tea instead of asking if I wanted another drink, she proceeded to fill it with unsweetened tea. Just overall very disappointed.
