I went on my birthday with family and the experience was awful and i dont recommend no one eat or drink at this bar... First i had Jen as a bartender and she was horrible. Not professional not a peoples person and very disrespectful.... Not only did she over charge me but got into a physical altercation with my sister.. The crazy part about everything is that my family attends this bar on a regular basis and i was very disappointed with my experience there... Then on top of everything the owner has no control over nothing there and i sat and talk to him .... He told me i will not be charged and he charged my card and over charged my card... I know that this is a finaling business and its sad because i experience this on my birthday... Dont waste your time or money at this business...

Visited this restaurant on August 10th, with my family. About The Food: The food was very cold.Tandoori Chicken was marinated well, but cold. So were all the other food items. Looks like they cook the stuff few days earlier and store it. No way can a freshly cooked food be so cold. They have stale ghool gappa ( pani poori) ,stale bhel mix, you could play ping pong with their jamoons.Few Items were good, but not worth the visit. Service: The staff was very layed back. There were hardly 7 ( 5 from my family) people for a Sunday noon buffet and yet the staff was very lazy. We had to tell them to clear out plates from our table. One of the worst waiting staff i have seen around. Over all, would never visit this restaurant, not worth the time and drive.

Outstanding Catered Lunch I hired Sapphire Restaurant and Lounge to cater lunch, on site, at a working meeting today. There were 21 guests, and all were delighted with the meal! Arun, the owner, personally delivered the meal to our site within minutes of the agreed upon time. He took special care to ensure that everything would arrive hot and fresh. The taste was superb (every bit as good as in the restaurant), and for the agreed $20 per person, there was enough food to feed 40 people well. Sapphire Restaurant and Lounge did a superb job catering our working lunch meeting. We will definitely be keeping them in mind for the future.

After reading about the restaurant on the Internet, we went for the lunch buffet to enjoy the good food they had described. We found that there were no hordeurves as mentioned, no such dishes, instead the name was totally different. On top of all this the bill included service charges. The manager failed to tell me the percentage of these charges and told me that he was just a worker and had nothing to do with what the owners had put on the Internet. We feel that the misleading and enticing description on Internet should be corrected or the owners should supply what they say.

Even though their lunch buffet is pretty good, this two star review is due to their Thai food which was awful when I ordered takeout. Tom Kha soup consisted of chicken and almost about a whole onion which doesnt even belong in the soup. Chicken Satay was dry, the peanut sauce was watered down and the vinegar sauce was literally a cup full of diced red onions with a splash of vinegar. The main dish was the Massumum chicken and it was very boring but at least they made it somewhat spicy. They should focus only on Indian and lose the Thai menu.

I was just staying in Laurel for a few months and I unfortunately didnt discover Sapphire until my last month. The Indian food is fabulous, fairly priced and consistently well done. I only ordered Indian food take-out so I cant speak to the service or the Thai food. My only criticism is that for some reason the garlic naan bread is very soggy by the time I get home, maybe due to how its packaged in foil. I just reheat it in the toaster oven and its very good. I recommend them highly and would return here whenever Im back in Laurel.

It could be really good. Their Thai food, although good. lacks the proper amount of spice. When ordered "extra spicy" it comes out bland. Their New York Strip Steak came to the table nice and rare, just as ordered - but the cut was ugly and tough with extra gristle and big chunks of fat. It is as though their cook knows what to do, but is given poor quality cuts of meat with which to do it. They still rate a 4... But could be better. (I ordered and ate my food at the sports bar)

Really disappointed! The appetizer was ok.we ordered the food at 9.30 pm and they took the order . They should have told us that they cant meet the standards. Really disappointed. We are the only ones there and the place was so hot and no air conditioner on and the goat biryani was just made up from something else and it is crap. Who uses broccoli in an Indian biryani? Plz stop taking orders if you cant meet the standards at closing time!

My Family and I Love Indian Food and we traveled from Annapolis to try Sapphire based on the excellent reviews posted here. I must say we were VERY disappointed. The buffet was well stocked but the food was cold and lacked in taste. It was very bland, and we tried the Chicken Tikki Masala, Saag, Veggie dishes and kept thinking we would find something to appeal to our taste buds but sadly we did not. Dont waste your time or money here!

Sapphires has truly gone down hill. I used to love this place. I went for their lunch buffet and the food was not up to par. The food was barely warm but rather cold. The rice was so low that it was scortched. The overall presentation was not well either with slopy spoons and areas. The buffet should be regularly checked. I also had to request for a new glass because it was visibily dirty. I barely ate because I felt disgusted.

the lunch buffet during the weekdays is really what this place does best. it only costs like $12 for all you desire to eat. food quality is good and worth the $, IMO - but not as great as it was a couple years ago. prices are significantly higher when you dine in the evenings and on weekends. the staff is friendly and almost always exceptionally on the ball about keeping beverages topped-off and dirty plates cleared off tables.

It was amazing to me to find such excellent food at an all-you-can-eat buffet - not only great indian food, but great thai food as well (on the weekday lunch buffet). Large number of tasty vegetarian dishes, too! Also, if meet an employee named Prakash - he is the friendliest guy ever and can show you some fantastic origami that he made.

Food is good in the Lounge. You can order from the bar menu or the Restaurant menu. Bartenders will take care of your food order. Friendly and attentive staff in the Lounge. Stop in for the Open Mic and Jams on second Thursdays of the month, 8:00 to midnight hosted by the Mojo Priests band. Enjoy local talent and great musicians.

Have only been here for dinner, but friends have told me the lunch buffet is amazing as well. I usually order the massaman curry (American hot) and my husband orders the tandoori grill (native hot) and they are both fantastic. We also usually get an order of puri bread because were fat and its delicious.
