Its my 2nd visit in an Year. We went last year for our wedding anniversary one night and ordered a-la-carte. The food was reasonable. However, we were unhappy with the waiter who provided the service - a tall (6 feet), clean shaven, fair complexioned middle aged gentlemen with Hispanic origins with receding hairline from the center of his head wearing a white shirt and a black pant. He was very cold, rude and hostile towards us. We gave him a benefit of doubt thinking he might have had a hard day at work and ignored him, although that ruined our evening. Today on a busy Saturday afternoon, we had the same guy providing us the service. And, it was no different. I observed, he was wishing thank you to every body with a lighter or white skin complexion. He was very hostile towards us. He didnt respond to our repeated queries about the buffet. Worse, he threw the napkin towels and spoons around our table mat for us to pick and adjust on our own. He gave dirty looks and wouldnt respond to our requests for water. We were deeply hurt and depressed about what happened. It was humiliating and we just left. If he is disgusted about his job and serving people of other diversities, why should he be in this industry and I wonder how the management doesnt observe such obvious indifferences. The food is great but the same cannot be said for the service experience. Pros: Food Cons: Service, hospitality, Treating customers of other origins Updated: I am appalled to find the reviews and comments from other folks who have rated this place low. Feel very sorry that they have been at the receiving end like our family and in some cases the experience ( even from the manager) is observed to be worse. Such places have to be shunned!

The service that I received at this restaurant was the worst that I have ever experienced in my life and I dine out an average of 5 times per week. The manager happened to be our server, he was inattentive, dismissive, and DOWNRIGHT RUDE! My daughter and I were left sitting for 20+ minutes between courses, our table was never cleared and the other waiters would not even acknowledge that we were sitting there! I was prepared to leave after the appetizers, because at this point we had been in the restaurant for over an hour, had only been served drinks and the appetizers. When the manager saw that we were prepared to leave, he rushed to the kitchen, came back with the platter, which he practically slung onto the table AND LEFT!! No apology, smiles, NOTHING!! This is the clincher, after taking two bites, I was decided to leave because my daughter was tired and I was frustrated. I attempted to catch someones attention for 15 minutes... before walking to the front of the restaurant to speak with the manager. The manager first ignored me then again was very dismissive when I asked if this type of service was common at this restaurant. I turned around to check my table and within 2 minutes my table had been cleared...MY FOOD HAD BEEN THROWN AWAY!! No one could even come over to our table so that I could request takeaway containers, but our food was thrown away in 2 minutes!! THE MANAGER THEN SHOVED THE BILL TOWARD ME WITH STILL NO APOLOGIES!! Although, the food that I tasted was delicious, the service was horrendous and I would NEVER go back or recommend!

I went here for dinner with Misha T. after a week of being disappointed with east coast food but this place quickly changed my opinion! Woodlands features quality Indian food in a cozy environment, though it is a little pricey for the amount of food you get. When you walk in the smell of Indian food hits you right away! At that point I knew that I was going to have an authentic Indian experience. We ordered multiple vegetarian dishes, I cant remember their names to save the life of me, but the curries and other plates werent spicy at all yet had lots of flavor. The bread was good, the dipping sauce was good, and the service was pretty good. My favorite was the GULAB JAMUN. These dessert balls are amazing! You only get 3 which makes them ridiculously priced at a dollar each, but whatever they are really good. Definitely worth a stop even though its kind of far from DC :/

There is a reason this place is still popular - unwavering attention to quality and customer satisfaction. I recently ate here after about 10 years. Still as good as I remember it. The area around its location has changed drastically, but it hasnt. You are promptly seated upon arrival. The ratio of waiters to diners is quite high, so it is highly unlikely that you will ever go unattended. I went on a Sunday, so the buffet was on. Perhaps thanks to this, they were getting people in and out fairly quickly. That said, did not see any signs of people being rushed out. I certainly felt welcome to stay as long as I wanted to. The variety of food offered in the buffet was ample. The food was tasty and fresh. There was enough consumption to keep it fresh too. The "Mysore Coffee" hit the spot.

I tried to order from the menu and I couldnt tell what was what. I asked the waiter several questions which he either couldnt answer or didnt understand me. So I took a risk and ordered the special and And what I thought would be a vegetable dish. Everything was an indecipherable mush and a little spicy, but I couldnt tell what was what and frankly I couldnt eat any of it and when I left it all unfinished, two women at the next table offered to help me in future. My advice is dont eat go there and order from the menu unless you know the foods or have a friend who can help you. The buffet would be a better choice because you could see which you are choosing beforehand. I was very disappointed.

total fun
We went to Restaurant for first time. First the location is in congested area it should be in commercial where it can seen easily or they would have put sign boards near the parking area so it could be seen from the road. Second when we entered most of the staff were standing and looking at us as we were something strange. We ordered south Indian cuisine the food was o.k bit oily. One thing I didnt like as the staff was constantly standing on other corner and staring at us. If one goes the other takes his place. We were not comfortable eating nor talking anything personal. Maybe staff were trained like that but management needs to be change. Even for bill one has to go and pay at the counter.

I do not like to complain, but have to say that the food is terrible and the owners are cheating consumers with artificially colored/flavored food. pesarattu was artificially green colored regular dosa. Sambhar was totally weird, tasted like lemon. Coconut chutney tasted strongly of coconut oil and was made of copra. Corn in Vegetable Soup was stale and remaining veggies uncooked.Tomato soup was from ketchup. So hard to go wrong with fried rice, but have never had anything worse. The only saving grace was Upma. Would not recommend any southindian looking for a decent South Indian meal to go here. Went with a group of 4 and we were completely disappointed.

Where do I start? Maybe with the nasty and overpriced fountain drink with no free refills and absolutely no carbonation. The water they give you is straight from the tap no filtering at all. You cannot get bottled water either! They dont have! Was like wtf they have bottled water If you go to a restaurant in India! No beer or wine here. I just didnt know what to drink ! The menu very limited to people that are knowledgable of this type of food. I was lost. The bathroom tiny and gross. Have been to has stations with better bathrooms. The food overpriced. Do not go if its not buffet. Service is absolute crap. No wander it was empty.
