Just had the WORST experience ever at Fratellis of Hampstead. We will never go back! Our dear family friend traveled all the way from Ohio to celebrate his 80th birthday. We made a reservation and when we arrived were told that there would be a 40 minute wait because large parties arrived before us and our table was being used. Isnt that why you make a reservation? The owner (a woman) did get us seated sooner and explained to me that once a family is finished eating she cant simply ask them to leave because she values the familys time and doesnt want to interrupt. I told her that I completely understand. Throughout dinner they rushed us by taking our plates away without asking and even tried to take one of our chairs when someone went to the restroom. After dinner the waitress came and I told her we had a cake in the back. There were several other parties that had cakes and we saw them being served throughout the evening. Our waitress returned and told us they couldnt serve us the cake. A manager (a man) appeared and told us that they were too busy to serve us our cake because people were waiting. Another man appeared and said he was the owner and we would have to leave because there was an 80 year old, a person on crutches, and a diabetic waiting and they needed our table. He also said he owns 5 restaurants and this is the only one that allows outside cakes. At this point I was so confused....they allow cakes and value the customers family time but our family was being told to leave because other people were waiting? I asked this owner (the man) why the 80 year old in line waiting was more important than the 80 year old in our party we were celebrating. I also asked if a disabled or ill person was more important than the family gathered here to celebrate a man who traveled 6 hours to be with his family. He said yes they were more important! (Im not hartless and am in the medical field but if a person is so sick why are they out waiting in line at a restaurant?) So that was our evening. Make up your own mind but my family will never return to Fratellis. We will not support a business that treats its customers this way.

Fratellis used to be my favorite Italian restaurant ever- the best I had ever been to in the United States. My husband and I would go there at least once a month- if not more if we were in the area and would always have our family birthdays there. However, a little over a year ago they changed their menu- the first time (even though my favorite item of Lingiuni with Clams was missing) dinner was still as good as usual. Then the next three times after that- it just wasnt the same. The pasta was overcooked, the sauce tasted like it came from a cane and the mussels josephine were disgusting- on both occasions about 1/3 werent even opened and the white wine sauce was just very off. In addition, those past few times we heard employees being yelled at in the kitchen or back room or heard them being scolled on the floor. I am a business owner as well, and completely understand if employees are not completing a job to the best of their abilities- but in front of customer or loud enough to hear every - single - time ???? Seems a bit ridiculous and also not a relaxing experience. I felt very uncomfortable. No need to go back :(

My family and I drove up from Cockeysville on the advice of friends to try Fratellis in Hampstead. It was well worth the drive. The food was well prepared, delicious and served hot. The lobster ravioli was excellent. Another person had the seafood platter (broiled) with generous portions. The crab cake, shrimp and scallops were tender and tasty. The crab cake was first rate. The only negative was the butter sauce was a bit overwhelming. I had a staple, veal parmesan. The veal was an actual slice of veal, not processed, which was a pleasant surprise. However the veal was so over cooked that it was hard to cut and rubbery. This was the only "clunker" of the evening. The deserts were excellent. The cheesecake was some of the best we have ever had. The deserts were a unanimous hit! The wait staff was very friendly and a visit to our table from one of the owners was a pleasant surprise. I will recommend this resturant to our friends.

We had lunch today at Fratellis, me, my husband, my daughter and my 10 month old grandson. It was horrible! We had the worst waitress, "Dori", she apparently is new to her job. My daughter had to ask for a highchair then a kids menu. Once we ordered, Dori brought our Hot soup to the table, held the tray over my grandsons head.(thank God she didnt drop it. She rushed us through our meal by taking our plates and bowls, my daughter still had half of her meal left. So this day gets better, I called when I got home, I spoke to George. Told him I was calling because maybe Dori needed some training. His response to me was... "Did she drop the soup?". Really?? You should thank youre lucky stars she didnt!! And by the way the food was horrible, cold crab cake, juice served to my grandson was sour. We will not be going back.

I dont get all the fuss about this place. Ive tried the pizza a few times, along with a couple other dishes, and theyve always been mediocre and overpriced. The pizzas are small and are mostly dough with hardly any sauce. Youre better off going to J&P further down into hampstead, or Brothers Pizza in manchester. Much larger, superior pizzas for a better price. The decor inside the restaurant is nice, but Ive seen the owner be a total dick to his staff every time Ive been in there. He seems like a young, arrogant guy who has let owning a restaurant go to his head. I wont be going there again.

Is this establishment under new ownership? I am a long time customer and my fiance and I have been in there twice within the last month (once for his birthday) & the food and service have been very disappointing. My food came out luke warm and as someone who is pregnant, I need to make sure everything is cooked thoroughly. Also, it seems like all there are, are young kids working here anymore. I am all for this, however the atmosphere just seems rushed. The former staff were super friendly, accommodating and had a lot of food knowledge. I am very disappointed customer.

DO NOT EAT HERE!! My husband and I went here on 11/22. We had the salad and cheese pizza for dinner. Around 1:00 in the morning I became sick, by 1:30 my husband was sick. At 12:30 Monday afternoon we were both sitting in the ER hooked up to IVs. When I called and Spoke to George to tell them about it I was blown off with him saying it was just a virus. Biggest A$$ hole Ive come across in a restaurant. I have spoken to several people about how rude and arrogant he is with his employees and others. To the customers in front of him nice, to every one else, JERK!!!!

Some of the worst "Italian" food Ive ever eaten. Their food does not taste home made. Everything tasted like it was from a jar/can or freezer - the pasta sauce tasted like Ragu. The restaurant is grossly mismanaged - the manager/owner (?) is rude and he barks at his employees making the customers feel uncomfortable. When I go out to dinner, I want it to be a relaxing experience, unfortunately, this was not possible on the particular night I visited Fratellis. His attitude, the ambiance, and bad food convince me that I will definitely never go back.
