My wife and I just went to the Milton for a special occasion and I thought I might leave a review. Our reservation was for 6 and the staff was ready and attentive. We were seated right away and the waiter was very nice. We ordered our food, and the waiter came back to inform us that they were out of that item. Thought that was strange given the fact dinner service had just started, and the place was a ghost town but ok. Ordered something else that looked appealing. One word of advice for people going here, if you are allergic to seafood, go elsewhere. Only one appetizer and 3 entrees, other than a la carte steaks are non seafood items. Had we known that, we honestly would have gone elsewhere. The food came out well plated. Mine wasnt all that hot, but the flavors were all there. The chicken was cooked perfectly and my wifes Venison was as well. We opted out of the dessert as we were both full, but the waiter insisted knowing it was a special occasion. All in all the service was good to excellent, the overall experience was ok, moreso meh. There was nothing that stood out to us to bring us back. The prices were very high for what the food was. The flavor profiles were more advanced than chains, but at the same time, I have left chains more satisfied with both the food, as well as the overall experience. This is a place I would recommend for a special occasion, especially for seafood lovers. For the price, certainly I have had better, but it is close, one of the few real restaurants in the area, and the service itself was excellent. In no way am I saying it was a bad time, just not elevated enough to justify the expense and lack of items available on the menu, as well as lack of variety on the menu given a seafood allergy.

I guess we ticked off our server. Went to the Milton Inn last night. 1 table in the restaurant was occupied when we arrived. We were shown to a small table all the way in the back past the bar area. My wife and I affectionately called this area the dungeon because it was dark uninviting and totally separated from everyone else. We asked for another table and were told there was an area in the bar. If you have gone to the Inn before you know the bar area can be loud. We asked for another option. Our third option was a two person table sandwiched in between the entrance to the bar and the reception desk. We were told they had reservations for the other empty tables. I said we made reservations 3 weeks ago and was told we should have asked for a table in the main dining room. Ok, we take the table and watch others couple arrive and are given 4 person tables! Ok, so we are confused by what happened but we are determined to have a nice time. I order a $40 bottle of wine. Its great, the food is wonderful. When it comes time for the check I wonder about the wine because there was no way we finished the bottle. I look around and dont see it so I guess we finished it. We are walking out and guess what I see. Our half filled bottle of wine in the chiller. Guess we were not getting the wine because we were trouble on the front end? So we had a great time but ask for the wine to be brought to your table.

Positively the WORSE Thanksgiving ever!! We were seated outside in a tent where the heat could not be regulated and the light kept going off- not appropriate for my 83 year old Mother!!!!!!! We were a party of 3,, 2 had the Thanksgiving special; which according to them was not worth $10.00 much less $58.00. They swore the dressing was out of a box stove top, the turkey was so dry you couldnt eat it and the assortment of sides left little to be desired. Not to mention, the licorice flavored cranberry sauce was disgusting. One person ate off the menu and left half of it becuae the steak was so tough - again, $47.00 wasted. (I could have had a better flilet had I gone to my local market and cooked it on the Weber.) The ceasar salad was simply wilted lettuce and minature no flavor croutons. The only thing that was value for the price was the desert. So 3 people, only 1 cocktail (can you believe $11.00 for a wine spritzer) came to $230.00. Never again!!!!!!!!!!!!! Owners, you should be ashamed of yourselves!!!!!!

Food was absolute amazing. My wife and I had the pan seared foie gras and cream of crab soup for appetizer. The cream of crab was super fresh tasting, deliciously creamy with a great balance of the sherry and the seasoning. Neither of us had ever tasted foie gras before and it was one of the most delicious things we had ever tasted. For entree, my wife had the Roasted Hudson Valley Duck Breast and was very pleased with it. I had the Seafood Andor and loved it. The balance in all of our dishes was spectacular with a complex, but not overwhelming, depth of flavor. The server was attentive and cheerful and recommended a wine that paired well with the seafood. My only negative was how long it took for our entrees to arrive, but that was not surprising given the attention to detail that was on display. Yes, it is expensive, but it was a great place to celebrate our anniversary.

I usually wont give unfavorable reviews based on a single visit, but hear me out. I stopped by after a steeple chase nearby, with my wife. The food is well made, following classic dishes. I would recommend the Inn if you want a traditional meal in a country manor setting. But our waiter was high or mentally ill, I couldnt say which. It was so obvious, and he was acting so strange, that the meal got pretty uncomfortable. To the Inns credit, he (or someone) realized that things were amiss towards the end of our meal and sent out some wine gratis. What puzzles me is that he was allowed to work at all that night. I wouldnt put up with this kind of service anywhere, but its especially galling when the meal runs about a hundred dollars a person.
