The owners of Lakeside Pizzaria are super nice and the young man that is in the kitchen looking out the window had a really nice smile and always looks concerned about whats going on. For their sake, I hope they hire some better wait staff. The young lady that always waits on us knows nothing about waiting tables. The first time she served our table I just figured that this was her first job and she would get better. Nope, its been at least a year and she is abrupt and ungracious as ever. This last time she brought me my sandwich and before I was halfway through it she said " Your check is at the register. You can pay up front". Well, maybe I wanted dessert! Or...fries..or anything. She didnt know because she didnt ask and I certainly didnt tell her I was ready for my check. She only two other tables, so its not like she was super busy. So, I ordered some fries and she brought a new check with them! Well, I had planned to order something to go for my husband and daughter. If there were any other place out there I would have gone else where, but there isnt, so I ordered and got a third check. Again, not once did she ask if she could bring me anything else. When I paid I told her that they might as well take the desserts off the menu if they were going to give everyone the bum rush before they could order them. The thing is, hey have NO competition out there. Ive spoken to the owners and they got a bum deal when ey sold their other shop and, like I said, theyre really nice. Even with no competition though...Im worried for this place. They could be really be packed if they either hire new servers or train the ones they have. Additionally, the menu is really run of the mill. If they could jazz it up just a little bit it might throw some life into this place. I think a lot more parents picking up their kids next door would stop in and other people in Whittier not wanting to go downtown, would love to have somewhere to go with an interesting menu and pleasant wait staff.

I live in Whittier like most others who go here. I have found that their to go orders are always fast and convenient. Their staff at the register is always warm and inviting. My wife went to the owners other restaurant growing up. I have read other reviews that state that the dine in experience is sub par. I would agree with that. Even though the dining area is never busy, the staff are never friendly and outgoing. Perhaps it is a side effect of being bored. But I am of the mindset where "why eat there, when I can eat in my own kitchen?" Plus, it is always ready to go in 15 minutes or less. I hope to see it stick around for years to come. I do, however,. agree with others on the site that with some slight improvements, this place could be packed. Whittier is a big subdivision.

Bad. Kid friendly? No. Anyone under eighteen cannot dine in without an adult. Pizza is not good. Atmosphere is not friendly, staff is rude. Ive been there three times, each time worse than the last. Price is not worth it.

Great food, great staff. I like that you must be 18 to dine in. Parents should have to watch their children, its not a daycare. I recommend it 100%.
