This Golden Corral is inside a Flying J truck stop. Thats probably a red flag in itself but I gave them the benefit of the doubt. My mistake. First, the cashier punched in 3 regular adult buffets without even asking. One was supposed to be a senior buffet. When told that, the cashier bluntly said that she couldnt correct it because she had already pushed the cash button. What. The. Hell? The food ranged from subpar to very subpar. Its worse now than I remember from a previous visit. The baked fish had been sitting in the steam tray long enough to form a voting bloc. Seriously, it had formed a plasticy surface and was stuck to the pan. The pot roast, which they claim has been cooked for 12 hours, looked like it had been left there at least as long. I remember when this place had 3 fountains too: one chocolate, one caramel, and one white chocolate. Now, they are down to just the chocolate fountain. Also, they dont have self-serve beverages so you have to flag a server down for that, which is an inconvenience at a buffet. The final inconvenience: To use the restroom, you actually have to leave the restaurant and go to the Flying J section. Better hope those have been cleaned.

I became violently ill for two days immediately after eating at this place. Be sure to eat here if you enjoy excruciating stomach cramps, fever and physical incapacity. I was ill for three days and diagnosed with food poisoning. Wrote a letter to the company, who assigned Crawford and Company to the claim. Submitted actual medical records to Crawford, the adjuster indicating food poisoning. I was told that it was determined that Golden Corral was "not liable." Therefore, if you get sick eating food at Golden Corral, be assured that it will not stand behind the assumed fact that the food will not make you violently ill. After all, it would be your fault for assuming that the food is not unhealthy. Perhaps that is what Crawford is telling me. Now I am in the unenviable position of needing to sue Golden Corral Corp, which is located at 5151 Glenwood Ave, Raleigh NC 27612. Suit was brought in District Court of Maryland (small claims). It is frustrating because any small sum to cover medical bills would have probably settled the matter, but I guess that Crawford and Co wanted to impress their client. We will see how that works out for Golden Corral Corp.

I dont know who leaves these negative reviews about this establishment but theyre absolutely wrong. I experienced something at this Golden Corral location that I have never even experienced at a restaurant such as Ruth Chris Steakhouse and I frequently go there often as I am from Atlanta, Georgia. What I experienced was quality customer service not on one night but both nights that I dined at this establishment. My waiter Juan was very attentive, polite, and courteous both times that I came to the restaurant, on the second visit he surprised me by remembering my drink order and he also made idle chit chat with me, even complimenting me on my plate presentation Juan was the best server Ive had this far in any establishment and I do mean any because Ive visited many high end restaurants that charge $50 a plate and Juan was the best Ive ever experienced. So I would like to personally thank Juan again as I did so many times throughout my time at the restaurant for your exceptional service if I could tip you again I would. This Golden Corral just received a lifetime patron thanks to Juan!

Should have known this was a bad idea when I seen huge gas station/golden corral. The gas station is bigger than the restaurant. To get to the point small, dingy, an did I say small! I needed something removed from the bill the lady had to get the manager. I thought he was was the dish guy. He had an apron covered in food, a broom and dust pan in hand my jaw dropped. Small variety of food. My bone in prime rib was nothing but fat, some food was dry an old. One lady came in about 9pm with her family, they close at 10pm, one cook told her they werent making an more steak it was to late after they paid full price for their meal. Needless to say they had to get the manager. The rugs were completely dirty an tattered , fruit flies flying around in winter, smh! The only good thing about my experience was the staff who where very nice an friendly. Other than that, dont waist your money at this location cracker barrel is right across the road! (Mad I didnt c that when I pulled up!) Oh yeah eat out the chocolate fountain at your own risk!

Golden Corral is my favorite restaurant. I was so excited when I found out one was coming closer to Newark, DE so of course I couldnt wait to go. On 5/5/14 we went and I have to say this place was down right horrible with the exception of the cashier. She was super friendly, and helpful and when I asked about a specific food, she actually went to check for me. Thats about as good as our visit went. What was present of the food was horribly dry. The steak looked and tasted like it wouldnt even be good enough for dog food. It was so bad I even took a picture of it (unfortunately I cant upload it here) the mac n cheese was also dry, there were molded strawberries over by the chocolate fountain as well as some that looked like someone bit off of them and set them back down. A lot of the food wasnt even out and there was no one in sight to ask about it. This is one place we will definitely not be coming back to. We arrived at 7:23pm and paid $26.26 for two adults and a three year old

This was an overall horrible experience. The selection of food was minimal at best. Most things look dry, old, and just unappealing. Even the oil for salad had an off taste. I ate the fried chicken, which was the best tasting thing there. Fast forward to a few hours into the night when Im awoken with horrible stomach pains and cramps. I didnt think anything of it and tried to go back to sleep. Unable to sleep I hear my son wake up and run into the bathroom. He unfortunately wasnt as lucky as I was and he got sick. I cant say for sure it was the food, but we both ate the same fried chicken. The only good thing I can say about this experience was the wait staff. They were friendly and as attentitive as buffet wait staff are. That however is the only good thing I can say. Avoid at all costs IMO.

Food here is mostly good. The meats were tender and flavorful. Vegetables and fruits were very good. Plenty of choices for desert. The only things our group did not like was the spaghetti and the pumpkin pie. The things that we all enjoyed are the zucchinis, steaks, and pot roast. Service was mediocre. The server was quick to refill glasses. Removing dishes was quite a different story. My son (only 7) ended up dropping some plates on the floor because the stack of plates we set out of the way, for people in our group to sit comfortly while eating, was already to high. We did notice that most servers did a good job. Well that was the good and bad of it. If you go we hope you enjoy.
